Beckham and Torres injured The Englishman's ankle injury has relapsed and the fullback has possibly torn his ligaments The only two pieces of bad news tonight were Beckham's and Torres' respective injuries in Zaragoza. David Beckham was coming into the game somewhat niggled after twisting his ankle in mid-week and it seems like his injury has relapsed. Meanwhile, the Spanish fullback felt a twinge on the back of his thigh during the pre-match warmup. He has possibly torn his ligaments. Both players will have to see how their respective injuries progress during the week to see if they are match-fit by next Sunday.- Miguel Torres

Ruud, Emerson, and Higuaín "It's normal to be so happy but we need to calm down" Happy as ever, like all Madridismo, but making appeals to sanity and prudence. That's how they feel. While the Brazilian midfielder thanked all the fans for the support at La Romareda, the Primera Liga Pichichi is only thinking of beating Mallorca “playing better than we did against Zaragoza.” Finally, Higuaín stated that "we are leaders thanks to our courage." RUUD VAN NISTELROOY: “We played with the utmost determination” “We're doing good. We have to play much better. Today we did not play well, but we did have a lot of determination. We drew and so did Barcelona. It was incredible. Next Sunday, against Mallorca, we need to win and play better. At times, I thought it was all lost because we were down and Barcelona were winning against Espanyol. But in the last moment, we equalised and so did Espanyol.” “It's somewhat premature to celebrate the title, but we do have a great chance and we can't let it slip us by. Let's wait and see. There's one more game to play. I want to play on Sunday and win.” EMERSON: “It was spectacular” “It was spectacular. Now we have the last match against Mallorca. We are suffering a lot, but it's worth it just because of where we're at. Now, we can win the League at home. We all deserve it because we are working so hard. Real Madrid deserve it.” “We need to calm down. I think that being overjoyed is normal tonight. We are back to training on Tuesday and we have to leave any feeling of elation behind us and work real hard. We have one more match and we need to win it to be champions.” “Football is beautiful. Anything can happen. We were in the bench and Espanyol drew just as we did. We need the support of all the fans. They really were behind us today.” HIGUAÍN: “We are leaders thanks to our courage" "I have realised that you need to suffer to win. I am happy because this draw enables us to stay at the very top. Luck alone doesn't win you anything. We proved that we have courage and that is why we are leaders. We always thought we'd end up at the Cibeles, even in the bad moments. We will do it standing together.”- Fabio Cannavaro
"There's still 90 crucial minutes" Robinho and Cannavaro: "We are going to fight until the end; we have to win for the fans" Objective: Mallorca. That's the only thought of the Madridista squad since the referee blew the final whistle at La Romareda. The 2-2 result opposite Zaragoza and the draws of Barcelona and Sevilla have allowed the Whites to continue leading the table and to depend exclusively on them to be champions: “We deserve to be there because we have a big heart,” said World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro. ROBINHO: “There's still 90 crucial minutes ahead of us” “We have suffered greatly but we ended up getting a draw that gets us one step closer to League glory. We played well, but we can do a lot better. Let's hope we are champions next Sunday. Feelings of euphoria are for the fans to enjoy. There's still ninety crucial minutes to be played and we need to win.” CANNAVARO: “We have a big heart” “It's incredible. We deserve to be where we are because we have a big heart. This is what football is. You have to be there to live it up. It was a tough game because Zaragoza are a good side which plays quality football and has many talented players. This week, we only trained once with a full squad. That is why we had many difficulties.” “Luck is key in life, not only in football. It's very important, but if you play professionally and pouring out your heart, things come around. We love the support of the fans. We've had many people here with us tonight. We need to win for the fans”.- Roberto Carlos
