Ramos: Fans Have Helped Us Qualify Spain defender Sergio Ramos thanked the fans for standing by the team through thick and thin, and credited them for the qualification. After a rocky start to the campaign, one which almost cost Luis Aragones his job, Spain have qualified for Euro 2008 with a game to spare on the back of a 3-0 thumping of Sweden at the Santiago Bernabeu. Joan Capdevila and Andres Iniesta began the rout, and Sergio Ramos completed it as he continued his goal scoring form. It was a capacity crowd that willed the team on, and the Madrid defender was thankful after the game. “This victory is for the fans because they supported us since the first minute of our campaign,” Ramos said on Spanish television. “They continued to help us despite our elimination in the World Cup in Germany. “We now have the chance to show them what we are capable of doing and I think that this performance is very promising for the future. “We are going to Switzerland and Austria now.”
  13. Real Madrid's Higuain: Barcelona lost focus Real Madrid attacker Gonzalo Higuain believes Barcelona have taken their eyes off the prize after last week's defeat at Getafe. Asked about Barca's recent form slide, Argentine Higuain said: "What really worries me is Real Madrid, but they have made good signings and have a great team. "I think the cause of their problems is a lack of concentration, but surely in the final section of the championship they will be fighting for the title."
