This season's much talked about Louis Vuitton ads feature a triumverate of our favourite veteran models - Christy Turlington, Natalia Vodianova and Karen Elson. Now WWD has revealed that Marc Jacobs has signed up another trio of faces to front the label's spring campaign. Apparently Freja Beha Erichsen, Kristen McMenamy and Raquel Zimmerman have already stepped in front of Stephen Meisel's camera to show off the eye-popping, animal themed collections, although the pics are under wraps for now. ---------- Nothing against Freja, Kristen or Raquel, but I'd so hoped to see Natalia again this LV 2011 SS campaign...

Camogli pictures (some of these seem new to me... ) ANV Le magnifique Belle du Seigneur, d'Albert Cohen, sublime roman supposé inadaptable, est pourtant en train de se tourner actuellement à Camogli, en Italie, sous la direction du réalisateur Glenio Bonder. Pour incarner Solal, le cinéaste a enrôlé le charismatique Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (célèbre pour son rôle dans Match Point et qui incarne le roi Henry VIII dans la série Les Tudors), et, pour le sublime rôle d'Ariane, son choix s'est arrêté sur le magnifique top model russe Natalia Vodianova, qui, après être apparue sous les traits de Médusa dans Le Choc des Titans, trouve ici son vrai premier grand rôle au cinéma. Publié en 1968, Belle du Seigneur retrace l'histoire de Solal, homme de pouvoir qui risque sa réputation et sa vie pour sa passion pour Ariane, une jeune femme sublime et rebelle, mais mariée. Pour beaucoup, Belle du Seigneur est LE chef-d'oeuvre absolu de la littérature du XXe siècle, et son adaptation cinématographique, en projet depuis des décennies (même Stanley Kubrick avait tenté de s'y atteler au début des années 1970), est attendue comme rarement un livre porté à l'écran l'a été. Yes, absolutely. A nose can grow thinner. You face features may change dramatically with weight loss. On top of that, Natalia is maturing. With age, your face change, it's part of the ageing process. People don't realize that, but it's true. When Natalia's first model pictures appeared, she was a teenager - she's almost 30 now. So, we're not only looking at a girl who became a mother of three and managed to keep her weight down, but also at a girl who became a woman. I think these are the two key factors. Her changes look natural to me. Besides, you've got a point, I don't think surgery is her style, either.

You're welcome... although, really, I should thank ANV. I'm always looting that blog. And Flickr. I'm not religious either, pautinka, but - if there's a God - may God bless her. Not only for what she's doing for all these children, but also for being who she is. I just find it amazing the way Natalia looks at her life and her past, not with sorrow, not with anger, not with regret, but with the sense that whatever happened to her made her the person who she is. She could say, that was a nightmare and I survived it, and I don't want to think about it anymore. Amazingly, she doesn't. Sometimes, when I'm feeling down, I think of her and I feel ashamed to mope around. I'm not a child in Russia, I most probably won't play in these fantastic playgrounds, but I'm already benefiting from this woman's role model. Really cool. I absolutely feel the same way you do.

I don't think she has had any surgery at all, Eos. Natalia has said more than once that what changed her face and her body was the birth of her son, Lucas. According to her, because she had to go back to work soon after, and I think her weight issues were quicking in at that time, she shed a lot of weight. She once referred to it as losing her "baby fat". The result is that, from Lucas' birth onwards, she looked more like a woman, less like a teenager (in the sense that her body and facial features became less girlie and round shaped). That's when her career went supernova. I think she's right. After Lucas's birth, her changes were significant and she got what today is her trademark look: this angelic girl-woman appeal that is pretty unique in the business.

Yeah! Weird. First time I ever saw that second window popping up. But I guess it's a new thing, because there have been some changes in Facebook lately. Hmm. The account format. Well, I suppose it'd make more sense if Natalia had a private Facebook account (as almost everybody does) for family and friends only - people she actually knows, and to whom she can talk freely and show pictures of herself and her family. Conversely, the official Facebook page (with the "Like" button) would be for followers, like us. The difference is that you can be a fan and like the page, regardless of her approval, and thus have access to the news and pictures she finds convenient to share with total strangers. Right now, there's what I can only consider a mismatch: her personal Facebook account is private and accepts people she doesn't know. So, the way it is, the account is defying its purpose: it's not safe and private and it's not helping her to expand her fan base, either. I understand and totally respect your feelings. In truth, I think it might be her. Right now, I'm inclined to think it's her, more than not. All the more reason because nobody has taken action against this account so far. But, to my mind, if it's not Natalia, the impostor is doing something that is both legally and morally wrong. That's an opinion, nothing more.

Yeah, this is what we may call pretty damaging evidence. Really, I still don't know what to make of this FB account. I think there's a great possibility that this is the real Natalia, given the sheer number of friends/followers, and the fact that never-seen-before pictures are posted. I suppose she would talk about her charity work, too, so this part fits nicely. I'm inclined to believe it's her. However, there are missing parts in this puzzle. As I said, the whole account format doesn't make much sense to me. Besides, people you would expect to be among her friends list are not there - unless, of course, she did really intend it to be a page and just made a mistake in the beginning. I don't know. It's a toss of the dice, at this juncture. I hope it's her. It's just so pathetic when people do that, trying to pass themselves for celebrities.

Hmm, Eos, I see. Well, I kind of regret having sent her a friend request, since I'll most probably end up being shot down. But, well, it's done. Let's see what happens. I think she should have her own page, administered by herself or, more realistically, by an authorized representative. It would make a whole lot more sense to me. maryna, I've just sent her a friend request. I confess, I didn't feel at ease with it at all. Facebook asked me if I knew Natalia (in these exact words). I said yes (technically true, pero no mucho). Then, another window of dialogue opened and asked me if I knew her personally (of course, NOT) - because, if I don't, my request might be considered spam. There was a certain tone of warning in those messages, like "bug off!". I hope I won't end up as spam or something... If it works, I'll tell you. What really bothers me is that she could either have an official FB page, with a LIKE button (which would make a lot of sense) or leave her personal account open for everyone to see. It's weird to keep your account private if you're going to accept almost everyone and post messages that are not strictly private. Moreover, her "home" must be crazy. Almost 5k people's posting, among friends and followers. Just today, I posted a bunch of pictures of my dog. It's ridiculous. Well, whatever. Two great HQ pictures. ANV called them "getting ready". fashionmistake1234, I know this issue has come up several times, but... anyway... do you think these Facebook accounts are for real? Twitter has that "verified account" seal that makes everything so much clearer. I saw that Natalia has, like, 4K friends. I considered sending her a friend request, but I thought: a) maybe it's not Natalia Vodianova at all; b) if it's Natalia, maybe she does have 4K + friends, not followers, so I'll be turned down. She should have an official page, with the LIKE option, so that we could follow her posts. What do you guys think?
