This lecture and the previous one (#21 about the Roman empire) is amazing re-evaluation of Jesus/Christianity from more objective historical perspective. I like how he depicts the Roman empire as actually being an "evil empire"- rich but too barbaric, corrupt, hedonistic, and oligarchical. Practical but lacking in artistic and cultural value for its size, especially compared to ancient Greece. He also connects Rome's legacy to American culture & empire which has similar problems.. Begs to question why so many people on the alt- right are interested in admiring the Romans these days including Zuckerberg..
