Andy, it's not unusual. Campaigning is what most of them do, everyone's got to do a bit of it to a degree. And not just the principle actors, but it's moreso the ones behind the scenes. Anyways, all Leo really did was go to screenings and such. Then whatever else happened, like magazine covers and articles is all the media and some his publicist too. Leo didn't have control over all the attention. People were just rooting for him to win and the Internet loves him. Leo didn't do anything different, it's just some haters who are complaining want to attack him specifically because he's already at the top and they don't want to see him win an Oscar too. But too late, doesn't matter Leo is an Oscar winner!! He's the biggest movie star, The Revenants big box office (for a film hard to sell... aka not a sequel or superhero film) is testament of that, people all over the world rooting for him to win, he dates whoever he wants, he's still relatively young and good looking... Now he's got all the prestigious awards on his mantel piece. He's got everything. Spotlight had had the BIGGEST campaign of all. (Just listen to the experts who predict awards for a living and are in the industry, Tom Oneil said this himself) With parties every other day, pushing the whole important thing. Putting all these billboards all over LA. Creating those hashtags to cause buzz. Last years best actor winner Eddie Redmayne ran the circuit very well too. Yet, since Leo's the most famous and beloved... Some will just focus on him and his camp.

Thanks for the updates In regards to the TMZ after party vid, I can see that Mike Medavoy (big shot, who has helped produced some of Leo's movies in the past) and his wife Irena getting into the car with him after the after party. Looks like there was probably an after-after party Irena and Mike are good friends of Stallone and his family too, but atleast one of their friends came out a winner

It was during Chris Rocks opening monologue. It was actually about the whole diversity thing. He was basically making a point that there's no point in jada Pinkett Smith boycotting the oscars because it's not like they'd care if she came or that she was invited..... and then Chris Rock compared that with him (Chris) not being invited to Rihanna's underwear. I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist of it. Chris never mentioned Leo during that. In case that was what you were wondering heres the clip if you want to hear it yourself. The Jada/Rihanna joke starts at 2:55 mark Chris did mention Leo a little later on when he was making a point that non white actors should be given the same chance. Then he said like Leo, who "gets all these great parts" Go to the 8.25 mark to see that part Then Chris mentioned Leo a little later on again during the whole Girl Scouts cookie thing where Girl Scouts go in the audience selling cookies. Chris jokingly was pushing Leo to buy cookies because as he stated "you make 30 million dollars"

Thanks for the updates. Speaking of Saturday, curious to see if The Revenant will win the sound editing Guild aka the Golden Reel awards.

Every category has a frontrunner pretty much, so before Leo's category if everything is kinda going according to plan then I'll be less nervous when best actor is announced. Also, even if The Revenant wins categories that it wasn't the frontrunner in, I'tll still look good for Leo in my eyes. i just watched the latest Goldderby vid and the woman said she can see The Revenant winning best picture, in part, because they'll think it nice that Leo wins with his movie winning and director winning too. I don't know if most of the academy will feel that way.... But it was nice to hear. Also she said if Leo loses then she joked that they should just stop the show and bring out all the ballots and start counting them right then and there on the stage. That the Internet would shut down. The other guy was just about to start talking about Matt Damon possibly being a spoiler when she cut in. Then she said if anyone but Leo wins then that person who wins better walk around with security after that. Just joking of course, but shows how much Leo is the favorite by many to win And yes Shandy, with all the controversy. The academy could use a happy ending which would be Leo winning. It's times like these that I wish voters had to write their own name on their ballots, but obviously anonymous voting is what is mostly used everywhere. Because if they had to write their name then there would be added pressure to vote for Leo, but of course that's the point of it being anonymous...there's no pressure for the individual voting. Actually the more I think about it again, someone beating Leo just seems impossible to me. Sure Cranston can get some votes, but the majority out of six thousand people... I doubt it. Plus if some of these voters don't pick Leo then Matt Damon, Eddie can take some votes.... but then that means there's vote splitting there among the non Leo voters. There's really no clear second place person, so it works in Leo's favour in my opinion

I didn't watch the PEOPLE vid either, but I'm hoping they are just saying that because Variety did and just following them. Ever since SAG I wasn't even nervous, but now these last few days have changed things For me. I'm not as confident anymore. But the thing is the critics have been complaining all season long. Yet it didn't stop the Academy from giving The Revenant 12 nominations. Not all of them like it obviously, but there's still a big enough support. Bryan Cranston's film Trumbo couldn't even get a best picture nomination and he hasn't won anything major. Plus Leo hasn't done anything bad to warrant a majority of AMPAS deciding not to vote for him all of a sudden. The only thing is that I don't recall in the past, there being a favourite to win, with all the major precursors won... and then that person getting bashed in the media. That's what makes things feel different now. But it shouldn't matter that much. Also if most of the Academy is jealous of Leo and don't vote for him out of spite, I mean the Academy can be very petty but I'm putting faith that the majority of them won't be that ridiculous. But freaking Ben Affleck didn't even get a best director nomination for Argo.... His film won best picture!!!! So you never know with them. Right now I think Leo has it. And I'll obviously be very happy if does indeed win. But if he loses... honestly I'd be devastated, no positive spin to put on that one. I'm sure Leo would be hurt too, any actor would be if they won everything but by the time the big award comes along they vote for someone else. It's hurtful for anyone. But anyways no point in thinking about that yet. Voting ended yesterday, so the winners are decided. 4 more days and we'll know

^ well most people think he'll win. That Variety article was just an "upset" article. It just caught me because it was from Variety and ever since the SAG win, I wasn't hearing about upsets. Arghhh why did Variety have to write about a possible Cranston upset. I thought this talk about him was over after SAG. With Trumbo being the film's only nomination, Cranston's nomination should be his award and that's it. I think if Cranston had a chance to upset, then he would have won SAG. If somehow he manages to win the Oscar, then it would be obvious majority of the academy doesn't like Leo ... Because come on he's won everything so far. The Revenant wins CAS award. This is a sound Guild. Sound mixing to be exact, next week sound editing will be announced. It won the sound category at BAFTA, at the Oscars sound mixing and sound editing are separated. Leo winning an Oscar won't impact his career because he's had a great career this whole time without one. So this is my main reason for wanting to see Leo win, so that these Meme's and jokes will stop. Really looking forward to that haha
