True story: My grandmother worked as an advertising executive for Givenchy in New York decades ago. They still chat from time to time, and she gets Christmas cards from him in France. Told me a story that I forgot most of but could be summarized with "Rene Russo is the best and most professional model I worked with." That is quite literally 100% of what I know of and about the fashion/fragrance industry, though I suppose I could have learned more had I asked her, but I doubt she minds that I took more of an interest in my grandfather's dedication to baseball instead. /grandmother started out working in the mailroom of the building //cool story bro
  2. I'm glad they're all but admitting that "talent" isn't a requirement for being cast in a Michael Bay film. Granted, my avatar "won" her "role" in "Deuce Bigalow 2: European Gigolo" (in quotes as well because it barely qualifies as a movie) by "auditioning" on camera with three others on how best to press her boobs up against a window whilst cleaning it. Though she deserves some credit for winning despite having the smallest rack of the "contestants" so hey, maybe there is accounting for talent! So yeah, I actually don't care. It's a popcorn film, I hope she wears as little clothing as suspension of disbelief will allow and "be hot" as Bay instructed Fox to be.
  3. I was going through my post history for no good reason and saw this. Figured what little updates I know about this site and its aborted successor would be of some limited interest. Plus any time I can necro-bump a thread from 2005 with a new on topic comment, it amuses me to do so. As far as the original site went, it was taken down for intellectual property reasons after they received a cease and desist. The guy(s) who made the original Babe Index eventually got real jobs - they were college students at the time I believe - and the main coder now works for Facebook. He now serves mostly as the person I complain to when I get sick of people sending me app requests. Anyway, on to the Babe Index - he and his friend were going to set up a new site with better coding (and Youtube-like ways to avoid and deal with copyright infringement) but the demands of their jobs forced them to put it on the backburner. So, for anyone who liked the old site - like me - probly ain't gonna happen. Oh well.

Your scans? Next time - if your scanner has it and it should - look for an enable the "Descreening" filter option. That will remove the "static" effect on the images.
  6. Liked her so much better pre-implants.

  10. IF they had to use a blonde again and IF it had to be a beach shot again Then they should have just re-used Bar. What guy - and typical SI reader - wouldn't want to use and re-use Bar? Exactly.
  11. Hey, I'm all for whatever gives us average-looking, needs-to-hit-the-gym guys hope. Like Pierce Brosnan's wife, but the other way around!
  12. Disclaimer: Straight male who does not care about relative model prestige, body of work, etc. I've visited a lot of model threads on this site. Some I've commented in, most I haven't. I have never once visited Brookyln Decker's until today and I didn't stay long. If I want to look at pictures of a stunning, curvy blonde, there are much more - enticing - choices than Brooklyn. So, in that sense, I don't really see the appeal. Granted, if I met her in real life I'd be blown away, but that's an understood fact about the difference between internet gawking and genuine relationships. So count me in the "she's a bargain basement Marisa Miller" camp. But all that being said and my disclaimer, whoever gets the cover is totally irrelevant to me. As long as the girls in the mag and on the website are hot, it's all good. /annoyed about no Kim, but w/e //provided the current roster, I'd give the cover to Hilary Rhoda or maybe Danielle "Angie Harmon with boobs" Sarahyba.

Awesome! I'm uh... I'm gonna be in my bunk.
  14. Despite my earlier posts on the subject, I think this is kind of silly. Like closing the barn door after the horse has already escaped. If what Bar did is so unconscionable, change the rules so that no one else can get away with it again. Problem solved. Move on.

If I could, I certainly wouldn't be here chattin'. So instead, I'll just leave (NSFW) here and take my leave.

Made a couple gifs from these, using one as my avi, but the other is up for grabs. I edited the post-production blue hue out of one of them because it annoyed me, so the color is closer to the photo from the shoot posted in a recent page: For larger ones (300x204) here's a rapidshare download link: http://rapidshare.com/files/333393178/doutzengifs.rar

  19. Works for me.
  20. I said she used the letter of the law (being married is a way to avoid service) to cynically ("I can get out of this if I do X") avoid service, which undermines the spirit of the law (not breaking up genuine married couples). I imagine she was not prosecuted for a number of reasons - and this is just a guess as I'm neither a lawyer or Israeli - presumably because it would be on them to prove that the marriage was not legitimate. It may be commonly accepted, but proving it beyond a reasonable doubt would be a chore/public relations nightmare and likely not worth it. The point I was making is that any discussion of her alleged draft dodging should be framed in a different manner in which it was and usually is. The topic should not be whether or not Israel's mandatory service is fair - because it exists and Bar's motivations were selfish in nature, but whether or not her actions in avoiding the service are excusable. If for example she refused to serve on the grounds that it was unjust - and then spent time, money, and effort in a public legal battle in which she potentially had to serve jail time - then discussions about the law itself would be appropriate. That's just one example to point out why I think there should be a distinction. Finally, it's misleading to say that it's a matter of choice - if it was than Israel would have an all-volunteer military. I can take this to PM's if any moderators or Bar fans wish.
  21. I'm a history/political science student. It happens. Feel free to ignore it, heh.
  22. The relative merits and issues of universal service - ie, everyone has to serve in the military - are not quite the issue at stake with whatever Ms. Refaeli did or did not do. Universal service exists in Israel, and since it was not an act of civil disobedience in the sense of protest, the real issue is one of using the letter of the law to violate the spirit of the law. If I recall the facts correctly, that is. There are exceptions to service requirements; such as religious grounds, conscientious objection, and educational deferment. Bar met none of these requirements. So the debate, if there is to be one - and frankly I'm one of those readers who skips entire pages of Bar Refaeli's thread if I do not see pictures - is whether or not as a fan of Bar you condone, support, or ignore what is essentially a criminal act. The law in Israel states that everyone serves, by cynically exploiting a loophole to avoid service Ms. Refaeli clearly possessed mens rea. Personally, I am not an Israeli citizen and really do not care too much. However, to borrow from an example above - if my child gave up two years of his or her life to serve in the Israeli Defense Force and a celebrity like Bar Refaeli snuck out of it I might be quite irritated. Anyway, since I hate cluttering threads about ridiculously good looking models with wall-o-text here's a bunch of images from the photoshoot Num8er posted, credit CuthbertLover77 of TCF: Likely reposts in some fashion, but I checked back five pages and at least they are together.
  23. Yeah, former all-star professional athletes like Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason and Shannon Sharpe never got any sort of female attention. Not even when they were big men on campus! =

Well, I did start a big thread on another La Senza model - so there's that. Check her out. Ran across this unidentified one when I was finishing that thread. Thanks for the replies though.
