She got massive press from her SISE cover and was everywhere after that. And she basically became an Angel because she was the only American whom they'd been working with for a while when they needed one after people got pissed when there was none at the 2006 VSFS.

Well, there has been talk recently about her getting one. That was supposed to be one of the reasons why she left VS. Also, re FB, last year the promo pics were Adriana & Alessandra and Adriana, Candice & Alessandra. Before that the promo girl never got the bra.

Alessandra opened in 2009 and had a different outfit than planned, same with Adriana Lima the following year. So model > outfit. And as far as former Angel being in the crowd: Tyra & Gisele were excluded from the fantasy bra review they did a few years ago. Helena, Gisele, Heidi, Rosie and now Doutzen have a lingerie line. Stephanie has fallen out with VS and they can't even use her pics anymore. Miranda is working for Wonderbra IIRC (I don't really follow her career) and will definitely schedule an event on the same day as the VSFS. TBH aside from Izabel and maybe Lindsay walking, I don't see that many girls coming back at all.

Well considering it's empty aside from the Angel profiles, I'd say he/she has a point.

SO true. And whoever thinks she needs connections are out of their mind. She so easily blows your typical VS/SI model out of the water Lol. It's obvious she's so successful because of her connections. Like Cara or Kendall, pretty or not (she's not my personal cup of tea, tbh), she would've had a much harder time getting to where she is. There are very pretty girls everywhere.

I have heard that Isabeli, Anja Rubik and Eva Herzigova all turned down contracts too.I believe Doutzen initially turned down as well Doutzen delayed hers because she had to miss the 2007 show, missing the 2009 one seems to have cost Emanuela hers. I wouldn't be surprised if Eva, Isabeli or Edita had been offered one. Anja and Kendall, though, I have my doubts about, especially since Kendall allegedly chose Karl Lagerfeld's show last year because VS didn't invite her.

There was a video from her PINK event where she was leaned on a table and people said she was doing coke. It got a lot of tabloid attention and VS hasn't booked her since.

They make sure to give Izabel at least a pair of wings every show. That's a pretty rare case, aside from Karlie and maybe a few newbies. Even Heidi and Adriana missed some years.

VS thinks that bigger is better, that's all. And aside from Lindsay, I remember only Heidi and Daniela being singled out as great wings carrier. Girls like Isabeli and Marisa on the other hand hardly ever wear any.

Gurl. VS ain't fashion, just ask TFS. Also, "[insert product] is really my favourite [insert type of product] because [insert selling point]" no matter which product was their fave 3 months ago at the previous launch. Anyways, Kate's video was painful to watch. She makes Adriana sound fluent.

When they ditched Lindsay in 2010 before rehiring her, they still had her in the show and in the photo-op to boot (alongside the Angels, former Angels and oddly Jessica Stam, maybe because she did a bit of PINK spokespersoning). So she may have a shot to pull an Izabel. On top of that they always stressed how well she carried wings and it seems she still has a good relationship with VS higher-ups, so who knows. Doutzen won't be there, she said so herself. Karlie may or may not be there, mostly depending on the musical act, if you catch my drift.
