I've just started on some Proust, I'm going to try and blast through all of it, although that might take a year or something. we'll see!

if you ever see 'behind the scenes' of shoots, you'll see that the photog basically says "yes! yes! byooteefool! yes!" a lot, and clicks the shutter, then selects 5% of the shots as good. this means that it's mostly in the set-up, and knowing when a model is hitting a good pose. in the set-up, it's pretty much art direction, which ends up being like 80-90% of the total skill applied to a shoot.
