That might be part of the reason but I think it is a minor one. Yes, it would have been great if they casted an Asian actress as the lead but I doubt that would increase the numbers by much. I don't think the studio did a good job promoting the film. It seemed kinda half-ass and they barely created any hype around the film.

I personally haven't seen much on FB but that doesn't mean stuff like this isn't on there. Most of the pages I subscribe to are food and entertainment related so that could be why. Knowing Zuckerberg I wouldn't be surprised if FB does have a double standard. I agree, I don't like any race or group being targeted or shit on. Unfortunately systematically certain groups have more influence and impact than others. And it is encouraged by those in power to make sure they stay in power. The more divide we are the better it is for them. This is a global issue that isn't specific to the USA. Has it gotten better? Yes and no. Will it ever get better? Maybe but I doubt it would happen in our lifetime. Obviously I hope to be wrong but I am very pessimist about this. With the BLM movement I do believe they have good intentions but some of their executions don't end up as well as they anticipated. Mainly bc of the few assholes who ruined it for everyone else---similar to some religions. Sometimes their actions and approach are counterproductive. However there are some peaceful BLM protests but we rarely hear about them bc they are boring. This BS is very frustrating and annoying regardless on which side of the argument you are on. I wish I could offer more optimism but I don't think there is an easy solution. All we can do is do the best we can with what we have, hope for the best and drink up.
