Any cloud has generally poor security, especially for private info of companies, celebs, or politicians. Rumor has it that all the major clouds have been broken into over the last few years. In addition, this particular leak may have info that was stolen years ago before clouds existed (apparently some of the photos are from cell phones from at least 7-8 years ago - although the celeb may have just kept them). The hacker may have exchanged new photos/videos for other celeb hacked material that did not go public years ago. Anyways, the "big mistake" is from celebs who unbelievably did not change the cloud settings from auto-backup, or at least alter what info is backed up. For celebs (and non-celebs), no photos/videos should ever be backed up to any cloud, regardless of phone co., unless you are comfortable with the possibility of someone seeing/releasing such info. Apple may take the brunt of the blame for now, but beware celeb users of other phones, your time may be coming.
