There isn't any hype either like there used to be. There was so little promo inbetween the filming and airing because it was such a short timeframe. Also they rely too heavily on social media to sell the show to the masses. Most of the people who follow the brand and the angels aren't actually Americans. They need to focus on marketing in America to achieve good ratings.

I knew the ratings weren't going to be good. For a brand that's always trying to expand they haven't yet even attempted to go for a streaming service especially one like Netflix which will get them international numbers too. The young demographic they are catering too that's where they are now. But it's not all that. 2015 and 2016 the format is bad. Even if they weren't the best at least 2010-2014 had a style that worked for the show and it brought in the good numbers. It's not just a performers thing. That's not why most people tune in and I think they've forgotten that.

Honestly who is it behind the scenes that hates Lais? She was the only Angel not to speak or properly be highlighted in a segment. Her one moment was the Adriana segment and that's it. Even in the Paris stuff, fashion week, VSX and Angel status segments she was never featured. Is it someone in editing? The director? Ed or Monica? Doesn't make sense though. I'm just so perplexed as to why again she's left on the cutting room floor while every other Angel at least had something they were featured in or discussed something.

Sat and watched it properly with my friend. Better than last year but overall not the best they've done. Could be better. The lack of focus on the actual models is really becoming bad and VS really need to learn how to equally give Angels a bit of time to speak and showcase them. It's all great that Jo got a segment but I wish they could've done a small segment on each girl like in 07. Even just 1 minute each would've been nice. The show has some rewatch value. Bruno's performances were great. Gaga was just Gaga and it was a bit much at times. She closed Dark Angel which was annoying.

It's definitely better then last year outfits wise and looks wise of the show. Editing could be a lot better but I guess it could also be a lot worse. I'm kind of 50/50 about it right now. I don't hate it on the level of 09. But it's not like that amazing either. This in no way is meant to be sexist or pitting women against women but I always found the lingerie show worked better with male performers. I just find that the female performers always have to go that extra bit to stand out above the models and it shows. Gaga, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Selena and Nicki Minaj have all done that. Ellie Goulding and Fifth Harmony at least stayed back and let the girls do their thing. Whereas the guys just enjoy working with the girls. The only guy who tried to take the spotlight was Justin Beiber lol. Neong Jungle not Fifth Harmony

Watching it in 720 and it's not half bad. The opening was way better than last years.

So what comercials did they play during the show? Was the holiday commercial played or was it just the two that were already released.

2001 - 12.4 million 2002 - 10.5 million 2003 - 9.4 million 2005 - 8.9 million 2006 - 6.8 million 2007 - 7.4 million 2008 - 8.7 million 2009 - 8.3 million 2010 - 9 million 2011 - 10.3 million 2012 - 9.48 million 2013 - 9.72 million 2014 - 9.29 million 2015 - 6.59 million 2016 - ? I mean such a huge drop from 2014 to 2015 and I thought that would maybe kick them a bit but I don't know this show isn't looking so good. It could be the same or even lower.

Funny enough the ratings have been dropping each year. 2011 has the best ratings and to me was the last best show. And that's back when there were less performers with the girls. 3 segments had a performance and 3 were just the runway. It was a good balance.

I like having performers. It gives the show a good energy. But they used to have performers who did solo performances instead of always being on the runway with the girls. Like 06 JT performed once with the girls and then solo too.

It's so funny when we would watch the 2008-2011 (except 09) shows for the first time and we enjoyed them but they weren't at the level of the 03-06 era. And we just wished they would go back to the way it was. Now I don't want them to be 03-05 again I want them to be like 08-11 (except 09) again. Those shows managed to balance Angels with new girls and performers. Since they've had the performers be in every segment besides one it's when I found the feeling of the show has gone down majorly. Because that's when it started to feel more like it was about the performers. Why can't VS find a good balance with everything? It's all so over the place. They really need a creative overhaul soon. I hope the ratings drop even further for them to pull their heads out of their asses and fix it.

Adriana, Behati, Candice, Elsa, Jasmine, Josephine and Taylor are not going anywhere. Alessandra, Lais, Lily, Martha, Romee, Sara and Stella who knows. But I can see some of them getting the chop.

My opinions are only from a shitty quality stream so when there's an actual HD show out I will decide. It's like they took what Hamish said and were like the last few shows all kind of blend together how can we change that? I know let's make it seem like someone who was popping 10 ecstacy tablets edited it. WINNING!!!

Wow I was thinking the outfits looked kind of good this year, good lineup, Hamish said he wanted to change up the format this year, had to be better than last year... Yeah no... This was a big big disappointment. Compared to the past I managed to overlook stuff. But this one was just wow. And did Lais even get a mention at all?

What's with the perfomers getting a segment before the runway too? What like they aren't famous enough they need extra?

Adriana opening Secret Angel was killer. SA was good. It didn't feel as choppy.

And a segment about Gigi and Bella...

Fucken hell the jumping editing in the segments is so awful. I didn't see the Pink looks because they were just cutting back and forth between girls and Bruno. It was way too much. I thought having only a few days to edit would be good but it's turned out worse. Seriously I can't remember a look in Pink.

The Angels all did great. I'm just obsessed with Georgia. She has to become a regular. Seriously Sophia is annoying but she would be a much better host over Monica because at least Sophia likes the girls lmfao.

Hmmmm I def see it too. She must have been very sick. I think Alessandra was sick during the show too. When Alessandra was talking her voice was very hoarse compared to usual. Hopefully Taylor is feeling better and more herself now.
