They don't want them old and haggard, they want to the youngun's so they can hold on to them for 15+ years ala Adriana and Heidi and Alessandra.. I'm not sure why you all feel that they have to have done x amount of work before a contract is warranted. Candice had barely worked with the company and was booked shortly after her first show, hell Adriana wasn't a huge model with them, walked in 1999 and then was booked. Hell KK wore the fantasy bra before being booked as an angel, there isn't any real rhyme or reason to how long or much work a girl has to do before they are acceptable for one of those quote on quote coveted contracts. It seems like everything has to be justified in everyone's head. Life isn't fair, business isn't fair. How long did Marisa Miller have to work with them or try out with them before being booked? Was that fair? Was she somehow inferior? No of course not, and she was quite successful as an angel. Oh and to top it off how many years did Julia Stegner do catalog work and walk for them, and yet she never got an angel spot. With all the weight she had to carry on her back with the heavy ass wings they gave her, she clearly deserved it more then anyone else.
