Okay say you're building a new computer and not includig the OS, you only have 10 items of software you can install. What are they? Anyone know how to keep it simming while minimized and like skip over opportunities? I made sims after my roomies and left the computer running. It probably paused for an opportunity like half an hour after I left my apartment. I wanted to run it all week and see who dies first and who takes over the free world.

I agree. There was a time when they were decent human beings, apart from Steve Jobs, but ever since the iPod caught on they turned into this rediculous branding company. The worst was when they stopped using PowerPC and switched to Intel. That was the turning point. When they basically slapped all the existing Mac users in the face so they can focus on branding. They've taken away all that was good in a mac and made it so the only thing that made it different from a PC was the logo. Theres no longer an underlying difference between using a mac and using a pc for things like photoshop. Say what you like but all that's different is minor things in the interface. Bill is actually a good guy now that he doesn't have to fight his way to the top anymore. Most of his income goes to charity.

don't tell me you're running ubuntu. ubuntu is crap. the only thing worse than ubuntu is open solaris.

you will love 7. 7 is so much better than xp. i kid you not. it is a completely different animal from vista. people think operating systems are about the gui but this is wrong. windows 7 is the single most stable os i've ever used on a pc. that's saying a lot since i really love my linux based systems.

So... is anyone else running Windows 7 yet?

Oh... Iwas talking about using a gaming console for other purposes than just gaming. You can configure it to act like a "normal" computer and do cool things with it like descrambling satellite signals. The PS3 has one of the most advanced processors on the planet. The world's fastest supercomputer, Roadrunner, uses it in its configuration. Installing another operating system on PS3 will allow you to do certain things much faster than a normal computer such as crunching numbers for medical research or in my case, cracking passwords for your neighbour's wireless internet.

I don't have a whole lot of time for too many games. I just upgrade my computer if need be when a game I really want to play comes out. I would be right on that PS3 bandwagon if the 120GB one had the "Install other OS" option like the older one. Haha... No gaming on PS3 for me... just pure nerdage and wireless network hacking lol. The new one is a bit faster too and uses less energy since the new CellBE on it is 45nm instead of 65nm. Maybe if I have time later on this year, I'll hack it to run Fedora but by that time, I'll bet someone else has already done that making my life easier. We'll see... Right now I have old school PS2 running Debian, a hacked up DS, and an Atari collecting dust in my parent's basement.

OMG. I was at a convenience store this morning and she was on the cover of the FLARE 30th Anniversary Edition. SHE WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOT. I bought it and gave it to my sister. ^_^
