^^ BTW astronomer, Arsenal had Senderos, and they gave him. They shall start using him more. -------------------- OK, just checked the scheduke, and LaLiga will be nuts in the next 5 weeks. Barcelona, Valencia, Villareal, Sevilla, and Real Madrid, will all play against each other, and the action starts tomorrow with the Barcelona-Valencia derby. Ed, I just wanted to remind that Barca averages 3 goals per game this season, and they are kicking ass day in, and day out. And I hope you've watched last weeks Valencia game, and seen how out of no action, and without the opponent players doing anything, we manged to nearly score an own goal, get a red card, commit a penalty, and blow the 2-0 lead. And don't worry I'll definitely watch the whole game, and I won't even answer the phone, or go to pee. Maybe if we unite our powers, we may stand a chance. ---------------------------------- And I wish Real gets torched by Sevilla on Sunday.

"it"! but I thought "it" referred to the ex-valencia "coach" that could not be named. Come up with another name :persuazn: It referrs to "it" indeed. I guess I'll have to come up with a new name! . . . errrrmmmm, . . . how about "shit" I'm really really REALLY pessimistic about Liverpool's chances Ohh Crap! <_< He has gotten away with murder in some of the games I've seen him play :| This one was pretty much a murder as well. Usually if players lift both of their feet in the tackle, they get booked even w/out any contact. Sagna is lucky that his foot was in the air, cause that could've had been a season (maybe even career) ending tackle. Tevez-Torres would have been a perfect offensive duo, but I doubt that ManU will give up on Tevez so easily, or at least they'd block his move to other teams of "big4". I was actually having thoughts about mabe Liverpool shall make a move on Podolski. Looks he'll leave Bayern when the transfer window opens up, and there are trade rumors beetwen Bayern, and Köln of Bundesliga (Köln offered to give them cash, plus a player, but I forgot who he was). Anyway, I think he'd much more rather to play in a top Premier League team, then in a mediocre Bundesliga team, and probably even Bayern would preffer to send him out of Germany. But I think he'll be a perfect fit in Liverpool. He will make a great duo with Torres, and Liverppol actually needs some lefties. I don't think Mourinho will leave Intter, or Inter will fire Mourinho in winter, at least not after they guaranteed making the next round in UCL. If City is going to get a new manager during the course of this season, I think Rijkaard is the most likely candidate to get it.

Looks like we are getting the best out of the Premier League derbies so far. :hell yea!: I can't wait when our teams will go against each other. :knives: The referees keep getting worse and worse. Just in this weeks action, they missed an obvious off-side position on vPersies goal, and than they allowed Terry to stay in the field. Also did anyone watch the manchester derby. Ronaldo's reaction after he got the 1st yellow was was worth to get a 2nd one, but the referee didn't sent him out, and than he sent Ronaldo out in a position that he shouldn't have had. And actually this week was better than the last week. There was a canceled goal of vPersie against M.City, which I still don't get what was wrong, and if any of you watched the Lazio-Genoa game, there was a canceled goal from Milito (due to off side situation), which I would have told that it wasn't off side even when I was 10. He was on side during the whole time of that attack. Plus in UCL this week Bendtner clearly controled the ball with his arm. This week the refs really helped us (Gunners).

Oops, . . . I don't know why I took it as "If you ever compare them again..." All I said was Rijkaard is better than Domenech. My navel fluff is better than Domenech. Rijkaard is a man who won the CL by playing some of the most exciting football of the past two decades. Raymond Domenech is a man who Forest-Gumped his way to a WC final. He was still messing around with the formation during the tournament! :| Well, I apologize for mentioning them in the same breath again, speaking of which haven't you actually done the same up there Anyway, I'm not a big Rijkaard fan, and never was, IMO he is an underachieveing coach, considering all the talent he had on his team. And while I completely agree that Barca played some of the most exciting football I've ever seen, he even switched Barcelonas classic formation of 4-3-3, to 2-5-3 (Sylvinho, and Belletti as WBs C'mon!!), and that IMO was too much. But summing everything, he is head and shoulders above "that stupid French NT coach", and no matter how much I went against Rijkkard in the past, I have always rated him higher than "it."

1st of all. Azgirl, Attorney/Witness ones were classic . I have knid of a same material about a TV host, and his interviews, but I'm too lazy to translte it right now. Anyway, 5/5 stars, and much thatnks. ------------------ Now: ------------------ A man commits a crime at the age of 20, and gets sentenced with 30 years of jail time. During those years he stays alone in his cell, nobody comes to visit him, and during this times he completely loses his connections with the world outside. After 30 years he becomes a 50 year old man, and gets his freedom. But he has nowhere to go, so he goes to a park, and sits there watching the people around. After some time a lady with her 5 year old son comes to the park. Lady sits next to the man, and her son goes to play. After a couple of minutes the kid comes back, and asks her mom. . . Son: Mommy, how was I born? The young lady gets embarresed from the old man beside her, and replies. . . Lady: The Doctor injected me a needle, and I gave birth to you. After the kid goes back to play, the old man who heard this conversation goes like: Old Man: Excuse me ma'am. May I ask a question? Lady: Yes sir. Old Man: Isn't the old method applied anymore?- Football
I actually think that Gallas is captain material. IMO the captains shall not be the good guys, but the ones that hate to lose, never give up, and even sometimes yell at each other when it's due. That being said, I think he shouldn't have been the captain of Arsenal in the first place. I'd say the main thing for a captain selection shall be to look at whether or not he has at least 3 season with the team, and the more the better. In other words, captains shall be sort of symbols of their team. If it was up to me, I'd give it to Toure, with vPersie as 2nd, and Almunia as 3rd. Down here I don't usually hear news about dressing room incidents, but my money would be on Eboue as well, simply because he is the player that had the biggest downfall in the team. In 06 he was a starter, and now he is becoming reserve of the reserve. I won't be surprised to hear that he is unhappy in the team. Good shout. . . . I was erring more towards van Persie personally. I find him rather irritating but I'm not sure if that's because he is a truly annoying character or because I'm a Tottenham fan. :| I bet it's the latter one Well, now maybe I'm a little late, but here's exactly what I would've typed if I had replied to this a week ago: Considering our capability of losing our captains in 05 (Vieira), and 07 (Henry), I guess they'll go with Cesc. Last Saturday was horrible :yuckky: . Same thing happend my personal "big four" as well. (Juventus, Arsenal, Valencia, and local league team Liria). Neither of them scored, and only one of them was able to draw. All I said was Rijkaard is better than Domenech.- Football
He seems usually like he doesn't know that wing backs are supposed to defend as well. If he can manage to be active on both ends, he may be a way better RB (but he'll never be among the elite of WBs). Also in this weeks game against Bate, Cannavaro didn't play, so instead of switching him with another CB, Schuster moved Ramos to CB, and replaced him with another RB. True That! I was just replying about "looking defensvely unstable" comment of yours. Overall he had a mediocre game. Yeah, thats what I meant as well. He just wasn't like his own self in this season, or maybe the whole year (with the exception of last years derbies.) I hope in 2009 he will be back 100%. You'd think not, but the sad reality is no one remembers all the goals, they only see the number And then these clowns people are called "experts".- Football
Flamini was a filthy lil' bandit but my how they miss him. I usually rate all of the Arsenal players really high, and people usually don't agree. Even before the last season started, I was claiming that Clichy is the best LB in the world (though he needs some back pass practicing), that Almunia is better than Reina, that Fabregas is better than Lampard, Gerrard, or Ballack, and that vPersie is better than C.Ronaldo, Rononey, or Tevez. Among all the players of last season, there was only one, that I'd call him overrated, and that's Flamini. He was good, he never was something special, excluding games against Newcastle. Denilson is not a great CMF neither. I'd so much rather see Diaby in there, and sadly he's not great neither. I wish we'll manage to get either Aquilani, or Yaya Toure in the next season. Juve is in race for both of these players as well. Hopefully each of my teams will get one of them. Soccer = Football Football = Soccer They are the same thing. You are welcome to disscuss MLS here, while NFL is the one that is a different sport, even though they go by the same name. -------------------------------------- And the main event of the saturday night is Inter v Juventus. The Magic of Ibrahimoviç versus The Class of Del Piero. Thats exactly how the TV says. Seriously I'm looking forward to this game. If Juve wins we'll equal Inter in points. BTW did any of you see Ibras freekick the last week. Nothing special actually. . . Just that it went :|- Football
Ooh, I've got some bad news about them. Nah, seriously I think that they are just like they were during 04-07, which was a pretty succsessful period. They are averaging like 3 goals a game, which proves that they may crush most of the teams that may stand on their way, but at the same time this playing style against the better teams will raise some eyebrows. Congratz. Along with M'Boro, and Sunderland, AstonVilla is one of the teams that I enjoy watching a lot this season. And Agbonlahor and A.Young are kicking ass. Actually Silvestre has been better than I'd expect in his first games, but I don't have big hopes about his games. That being said he makes a good backup, which is what he actually is signed for. I'd say the bigggest mistake that we made was loaning out Senderos. He was always a great backup, and a big threat in the corner kicks. Zuhahahahahahhaahhaha Pheew . . . Somethings I'll just never get. Players are getting booked for taking off their jerseys, but nothing happens when they drop their pants.- Football
Well, IMO there are still quite candidates when it comes to winning WC. Before the WC06, rarely someone was picking France over Brasil, or England, and even though I was one of them, France was only my 4th pick. I'm sure that there'll be 7-8 teams in WC2010 as well, that may be counted as favourites, when the time comes. And I won't exactly call Italy a team who struggles in qualification rounds. Last year they struggled, only because they failed to defeat France (which is normal), and France lost twice to Scotland. At the end, they took care of that, by defeating Scotland twice. Actually Brasil may be the team to compare with France for struggling in the groups. Maybe Netherlands as well. But France has a clear lead in this departament, and Domenech is the only one to blame. That being said, France's success on WC06 depends only on their great roster. IMO, even w/out the legends like Zidane, Thuram, or Vieira, France still has the best players to make a complete team, which'll make them a threat in every tournament they'll participate. I feel you when you say that there is something wrong with Domenech "coaching" a team to the WC final, but can't we say the same for Avram Grant "coaching" a team to CL final. IMO Domenech is a coaching joke, but I'd still take him over Grant, any day. And even names like Rijkaard (who is better than Domenech), A.Ferguson (who is better than Rijkaard), or C.Anchelotti (better than Ferguson) are not great coaches in my book, even though they have hardwareful coaching careers. If the point is the performances in domestic, and champions versus the performances in World Cup, than I definitely agree with you. However what I tried to say was that if two players from two different teams, and different nationalities play nearly about the same during the course of the season/year/whatever, and one of them ends up winning Domestic Tilte, and CL, and the other wins the WC, I'd rate the second player higher than the first. And I enjoy watching Champions League a lot, too, maybe it's the most fun out of them all, but in my honest opinion, Luck is much more of an indicator in UCL, than it is in WC, or especially in domestic leagues. In Champions League you have no luxury of avoiding the booking of key players, to save them for the latter games (unlike in Domestic Leagues), and injuries have much more impact than in the World Cup, cause it's played in a shorter period, or in domestic League where you won't end up out of the copetition the next day. Just my thoughts Last year it was so, and I don't think it was that bad. We had Valencia - Real M., and Juventus - Milan finals in the past and it was Premier League's turn. If I'd see another ManU - Chelsea final maybe it would become boring than, but an Arsenal - Liverpool final is welcome to me. And I won't agree with you about CL becoming the Premier League (or any league for that matter), until I'll see like three straight titles from teams of the same country, which is really hard to believe considering lately no league has took back2back titles of UCL.- Football
You mean never? In general, maybe, but Ramos is a player who is good (actually, really good) in the air balls which is one of the main tasks of CBs. Plus WBs shall not lose their way in defense, and completely concentrate in offense, which is a common thing when it comes to Ramos. Well, he is actuaaly really good at making the last touches in the box, as can be seen at his goals that came from Corner Kicks. And I can easily bet that Ronaldo as CF = 15 penalties per season. :| Hey, I like Kuyt! But yeah, his games against 'pool weren't any sort of impressive. However how you liked him against C.Ronaldo on Wednsday? He was quite good both ends of the field. Plus he scored an amazing goal, which got outshined by Elano's latter goal. Plus Kaka' got the best of Ronaldo in another of the direct meetings. You. . . Lampard . . . Fat. . . Frank . . . . . . OMG, you giving a shout to Lampard. My eyes are burning. Oops, may bad. For a sec I forgot that we were talking about Golden Ball, and I just mentioned which keepers I like the most. But no, definitely not this year. Well, after this week, probably yeah. However how much a goal is worth shall depend in lots of criterias. Sure the more you score the better, but if you are leading 4-0 against Stoke City, making it 5-0 in Loss Time. . . is that really something that shall effect the POTY awards?- Football
One more thing I shall ass. This week was great for my teams. Real Madrid-Juventus, and Arsenal-Manshester United games were awesome, as both Real and United got bitch - wait for it . . . slapped . Tottenham is absolutely on a roll. When they hired Redknapp, I thought that they made it with perfect timing. They were going to beat Bolton anyway, while no one won't get at Redknapp if he fails against Arsenal, Liverpool, and M. City. IMO 2 points would have been really good in the last 3 games. Instead they got 7. :| Plus Bent scored 5 times in less than 72 hours. :| x2 And what do you guys think of Maradona becoming the new coach of Argentinian National Team. IMO thats one of the dumbest moves ever in football history. Now that Argentina (IMO) has the best squad among all the nations, and Brasil struggles a lot, Maradona is really a horrible gamble. He has zero experience as a coach, and even from his interviews you can get that he is way too untalented to become a coach (like most of other great players). This change is actually going to represent a first for me. I started to watch football(as in continuously) in 95-96 season. After that there have been 3 World Cups, and in all of them I used to yay for Argentina. But if Maradona is their coach, I'd like to see them fail.- Football
