Candice Swanepoel
Everyone sick of Candice doing nothing but VS; well here it is and it doesn't get much better than a VI cover! It's not the most amazing VI cover, but beyond happy for her. If Meisel likes her now than I can expect to see her in some major campaigns and possible more VI work; + VS? possible Superstar in the making. Go Candice.

Oh I would love to see it too! I always wondered when I watched Regis and Kelly, why Kelly always talked about Gisele. I thought she was only on the 2008 one.

Im so happy she is done with colcci. I actually hated their shows for the most part. Now hopefully she is free to do other, more important shows. :brows:

Linda Evangelista
Thanks so much! Some quotes about Linda: -“She’s legendary – there’s not going to be many like her, ever.” - Steven Meisel -“The hocus-pocus that happens in front of a camera is an observable and distinct phenomenon, but very hard to describe. As I watch her being photographed, it occurs to me that it’s like the beauty of math, the art of fractions. She can curl her lip in 7,000 different ways, and it’s somehow riveting. One of the biggest misconceptions about modeling is that its practitioners are required merely to show up and look pretty. In reality, a great model has opinions and style and ideas all her own, plus a desire to participate in the creative process. Evangelista, as everyone who has worked with her will tell you, has got the killer instinct.” - Jonathan Van Meter -“I always take into consideration what Linda is suggesting and saying about the pictures, the clothes, the look. And as a photographer I don’t always listen to everyone.” Steven Meisel -“She’s extraordinarily beautiful and extraordinarily photogenic, and she…she…sparkles in front of the camera. I don’t know how else to say it. When she smiles, it’s very inspiring for me.” Steven Meisel -“Inspiration hasn’t been the same without her! She is an enormous influence on all phographers and stylists. For me and Domenico, Linda is the model. If you talk about models of the sixties and seventies, the first name is Veruschka. In the eighties and nineties, it’s Linda.” Stefano Gabbana -“Linda probably loves modeling more than anyone I know. That’s why we all love looking at pictures of her.” Amber Valletta -"There is not another model as professional as she is." Karl Lagerfeld -“Linda Evangelista is always beautiful, even when she's screaming. She'll have her mouth open, her nose crinkled up, and she looks gorgeous.” Tyra Banks -"She is a fashion icon. She knows herself so well, it's as if she's looking at herself through the camera and moving accordingly." Michael Thompson -"To the kids in my salon, the ones that are from nineteen to 25, Linda’s the icon. It's like Oh, God, Linda Evangelista's coming in. Did you ever meet her? She's like their big movie star. She's their dream." John Galliano -"I once vainly asked her to consider coming to work for Vogue as a fashion editor, since her knowledge of style and image-making is boundless. She's also much loved by the industry. Should Linda ever decide to quit modeling for good, my offer still stands." Anna Wintour -"With her there is such a devotion to the job. She's creative, artistic, original. We always think together, sometimes suffer together, to get the best picture. I feel I could work with her for six months and it would never be boring." Peter Lindbergh (Vogue UK) (borrowed from Levangelista.net) -"Apart from being drop-dead gorgeous there are 3 other reasons why Linda is the most remarkable model of our time. Reason number 1 is her absolute determination. Linda would happily hang out from the prop of a boat on a China river for Arthur Elgort or let Steven Meisel wrap her on 4 hideous boa constructors to get a great picture. Reason number 2 is Linda's flexibility. Her famous hair is a constant surprise. From one day to the next she would be a blond than a redhead then a brunette, then a blond, then a redhead, then a brunette. But Linda changes more than the color of her hair. Year after year she has managed to reinvent herself as a chameleon as this year's model. And reason number 3 is that contrary to her reputation, Linda is a bargain. In the 10 years that I have worked with her, she has not once told me that she would never get out of bed for less than 10 000$ a day. And even if she did, I would have done everything I could to have come up with the money, because if there was ever a girl that was worth 10 000$ a day or more, that is Linda Evangelista." General Discussion
I know I knew it was alot (at around 100) but I didn't know this many! Radolgc who collects on Gisele since many years has around 700 covers of her and he says even his collection is not complete. That is still an insane amount of covers. I think only Claudia Schiffer has as many. I can imagine it will only grow throughout her 30's.
