Favorite Books
There were many books I enjoyed reading, but these two titles, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass", by Lewis Carroll, have a special place in my heart. Logic, nonsense, satire, fantasy. One that I don't seem to get bored reading again and again.

Two and a Half Men
I like this show. I catch up on it on TV. It is one of those rare shows that could genuinely amuse me since "Friends."

Coco Rocha
From what I read, she used to be a dancer. That explains her creativity with different poses every time! She was discovered for modelling at the age of 14, that would be roughly four years ago. But I assumed her big break came early last year when she met Steven Meisel and subsequently landed on the cover of the Italian Vogue.

Welcome, MoMopoW. The montage is lovely.

US Vogue May (or maybe June) 2007
I was pretty excited to see so many models in one cover... but alas, my excitement was quickly doused by all the negativity in this thread. I am new to the "high" fashion industry anyway so this discussion is really interesting... so go on... hehe.

Jessica Stam
Poor Stammy. I do notice she seems to be one of the "flatter" models, if not the "flattest." OMG! I'm so glad you mentioned which magazine this is, 'cause I was just enquiring in Coco Rocha's thread. Is it going to be the next month edition? I'm so going to hunt this down and buy it!!! Can't wait! EDITED: My apology. I've found out possibly everything I need to know about that cover in another thread. Thank you so much still!

Sasha Pivovarova
The first time I saw her, I thought she was Gemma Ward's twin or something. She still resembles Gemma a lot to me even now, but I would say she presents a stronger and more dramatic aura compared to Gemma. I'm liking her.

Coco Rocha
Looks very interesting... ten models altogether! Thanks D A D U M! Which Vogue edition is this? And is there anywhere I can view this image on a larger size? EDITED: I've found the thread regarding this cover so don't bother my questions about it here.

Pronouncing Models Names
Thanks a lot GucciPradaDior! I think I might be able to help you here, as I am a Chinese. Du is pronounced "DOO," the consonant sound for "d" is slightly softened though... maybe like "DHOO." It's really hard to explain. As for Juan, hmm, like "JOOAN." Actually, pronouncing it according to the English pronunciation wouldn't sway too far though so I think most foreigners got it quite right. An extra note though. In Mandarin Chinese, there are four different tones, and the same pronunciation could have different tone which would have carried different meaning already. But I would say mastering the tones could be hard especially for non-native Mandarin speaker. And, it's not easy to tell what tones apply for her name here, unless you know the meaning of each word or the Chinese characters. So, at least with the pronunciation, you are halfway there. For Hye Park, I'll pronounce it just as it is. Hye, which rhymes with bye, and Park, "PARK," but the "r" sound should not be emphasized. Maybe a Korean can clarify this.

Pronouncing Models Names
Hey! I'm glad to have found this thread. There are indeed a lot of pronunciations of models' names that I am not sure of, especially models with names of Russian/Ukrainian origin. I can learn a lot from this thread. Anyway, I'm wondering about Coco Rocha, the lovely young Canadian. I presume that her first name Coco is pronounced KO-KO, no difficulties here aye? However, I am not so sure how her last name, Rocha, should be pronounced as. Is it RO-KA, "KA" as in mocha, or RO-CHA/TSA, "CHA" as in don'tcha (the hard or soft "c" sound?). I would say that RO-KA would sound much better though. And what is the origin of her last name? Thank you for any help!

Jessica Stam
Thanks a lot! I think I've seen all these ads in the magazines. But I still wish I can see her in more ad campaigns. She was good for BCBG Max Azria last time, wasn't she?

Jessica Stam
Hi I'm a new Jessica Stam's fan. Actually, I'm pretty new to the high fashion scene And Stam is one of the few models that truly caught my eyes. Well, anyway, I could not really find updated information about Stam on the net. I wonder what are the many ad campaigns that Stam is currently involved in? I hope someone kind would list them down here. And what is Stam currently busy with? Sorry if it sounds like an amateurish question.

I meant to stay inconspicuous and quiet and to just enjoy the forum... but alas...! Two of my favourite models! Stam is so adorable!
