Discussing her nationality and heritage, Toubia stated: "I am so proud of where I come from. My mom is Mexican, my dad is Lebanese and I'm American, and I think that's what being an American is. It's a melting pot." As a child, she was professionally trained in classical ballet, flamenco, belly dance, and lyrical dance. Toubia attended Homer Hanna High School in Brownsville for her secondary education. Since the age of fifteen, Toubia had competed in several beauty pageants; she was crowned Miss South Texas, Miss Rio Grande Valley America, and Miss Teen Brownsville. Toubia first became widely known in 2008, when she was selected to participate on the second season of the Univision beauty pageant series Nuestra Belleza Latina, where the participants were trained rigorously in acting, presenting, dancing and other activities; Toubia was voted first runner-up. Since then, she has been featured in advertisements for brands such as Maybelline, J. C. Penney, Sony, Garnier, and AT&T. In 2009, she joined the second season of Model Latina, finishing in fifth place. She was then a semifinalist in Miss Texas USA 2010. From 2011 to 2013, Toubia served as a presenter for several NBC Universo music and entertainment shows, including The Arena, 18 & Over, and mun2POP. She co-hosted the mun2 red carpet special for the 2013 Billboard Latin Music Awards. In 2013, Toubia made her acting debut with the guest starring role of Elizabeth on Nickelodeon Latin America's youth telenovela 11-11: En mi cuadra nada cuadra, for which she was coached by Oscar-nominated actress Adriana Barraza. In 2014, she appeared as Dulce Rincón on Venevisión's telenovela Cosita Linda. The following year, Toubia portrayed Stephanie "Stefi" Karam on the Univision-Venevisión telenovela Voltea pa' que the enamores. Also in 2015, Toubia was cast as the warrior Isabelle Lightwood on Freeform's fantasy series Shadowhunters, based on The Mortal Instruments book series by Cassandra Clare. The first episode premiered on January 12, 2016. Also in January 2016, she appeared alongside Prince Royce in the music video for his song "Culpa al Corazón". In 2010, Toubia moved to Miami, where she resided until moving to Los Angeles in 2015. Toubia has been romantically-linked to musician Prince Royce since 2011, and in April 2016, the couple publicly confirmed their relationship. Toubia supports the Get Schooled non-profit organization; on May 26, 2016, she visited Middle College High School in San Bernardino, California to meet students and act as their "celebrity principal" for the day.

Sofía Reyes (born 25 September 1995) is a Mexican pop singer and songwriter. Reyes was born in the northern Mexican city of in Monterrey, Nuevo León, and like several now established recording artists, she was discovered by way of YouTube. The young musician, who started singing and playing the piano at just under ten years old, would upload videos of herself covering songs which eventually managed to capture the interest of American singer Prince Royce, who went on to sign Reyes with his then newly created music label D'León Records. As the first ever singer signed to the label which Royce made possible in partnership with Warner Music Latina in order to "support other young talent in their development," Reyes launched her debut single "Now Forever" (featuring American rapper Khleo Thomas) in 2013. Reyes, who is known for her upbeat bilingual (Spanish and English) lyrics, afterwards got together with Puerto Rican singer Wisin and German producer Toby Gad to co-write the single "Muévelo," which was released on August 2014. Her subsequent single "Conmigo (Rest of Your Life)" was launched the following year. The music video for the latter song sees American singer/actor Kendall Schmidt of Big Time Rush and Heffron Drive making an appearance as Reyes' love interest on a secluded beach. In early 2016, Sofia released her third single "Solo Yo", a heartfelt ballad and her first singing collaboration with mentor Prince Royce. Both are featured in the official music video.
