Limerlight Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 @Cult Icon What do you think of it? I've been looking for some mini series to fill in gaps between long seasons of certain shows Quote

I've been looking for some mini series to fill in gaps between long seasons of certain shows It's only 3 episodes long. I haven't seen it yet but it has high production values (elaborate sets and costumes) and looks well made/acted. It should be interesting if you find the history behind Guy Fawkes interesting. Quote
Limerlight Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 I haven't looked too much into Guy Fawkes, though I'm always ready to learn something new or something I didn't know about someone or some event, Usually it's mostly WWII stuff which I have to get into more, but alas Quote

Its history begins with the events of 5 November 1605, when Guy Fawkes, a member of the Gunpowder Plot, was arrested while guarding explosives the plotters had placed beneath the House of Lords. Celebrating the fact that King James I had survived the attempt on his life, people lit bonfires around London; and months later, the introduction of the Observance of 5th November Act enforced an annual public day of thanksgiving for the plot's failure." I watched part of E1 and it's good. The show ends with the bitter end of the plotters and their execution. I will watch the whole show when I have time. Quote
