February 20, 200619 yr I've been able to get great quality scans, but the file sizes end up HUGE... we're talkin' 10 megabytes. That's why I never post any.
February 20, 200619 yr That sounds like Resolution, you should lower your resolution. My scanner has a default resolution of 200, which makes my scans come out to like 2000 x 2000, way too big. Lower it to 75 and its a managable 750 - 1000 pixels either. I think the problem with my scanner is that its just old and dirty, I wish I could figure out how to get underneath the scan bed and clean the bottom of it, its got fingerprints and water streaks all over it.
February 20, 200619 yr When I lower it, the quality goes waaaaaaay down... my guess is because my scanner is cheap. The only reason I even have a scanner is because my dad got an HP three-in-one copier/scanner/printer thing free because he bought a couple laptops for my sisters.
February 20, 200619 yr ouch . . . I have a 3 n 1 from HP too, but its a nice one. It's just a little on the old side. I cant do really good HQ scans without them turning grainy, which is my problem <_<.
February 20, 200619 yr its not only the scanner....i have an HP all in one and my scans dont come out bad.with that said....back to topic
February 23, 200619 yr What makes pictures so grainy like that when you scan them? Bad scanning or bad scanner? that's called the moire effect. you're scanning a printing of a photograph. you have to turn descreening on on your scanning program now here are some new scans. enjoy
