I think University studies are only important if they help you get a good job (and help you succeed in the related field) or a good job in academia, otherwise they are an enormous waste of money and time. They have a general benefit in providing general intelligence, liberal arts, research, analytical, mathematical, writing skills, etc. even in unrelated fields however this must be put into some sort of job or life-affirming use. The most valuable thing we have is our health, our youth, and our time. Losing some of that and getting into a lot of debt & without the good job to show for it is immensely tragic. Education is enormously important, but it is important not to be overeducated in useless areas and undereducated in useful ones. So lifelong self-education is priority no. 1. Quote
Cult Icon Posted August 28, 2021 Posted August 28, 2021 Another issue with being overeducated as it causes a certain existential crisis when you end up jobs that require very little of what you passionately worked on and spent a lot of money on for years. This creates a desire to put this knowledge and skills to use and at the same time, creates a big, continuous feeling of disappointment when one cannot do so. Basically it causes people to waste even more time, trying to "made up" for their losses with infatuations with other activities, like being a published writer in the field, trying to become an influencer of some type, etc... This is true some people only want the appearence, the best posituon, but another onrs without money and time could be good students and professional people. The world can t stop: we need good doctors, nurses, engineers, teachers, and another professionals, not only from.one country or amother one. We need serious professionals, who maybe ate not in jobs but can help in some way, and another professionals out of the University, of course. People aren t inmortal, and we shouldn t believe sons and daughters of the professionals will be lile the parents. Maybe that refugee can learn mpre than the actor daughter, and that ex drugger could be excellent doctor. Quote

This is true. A lot of people let money in that appearence and not valid in real life. But people who believe be clever and know to do the things of professionals do, like social workers, psychologists, economy or lawyers do, or that althernative thetaphists who in a lot of pacients aren t enough professionals or let people without medication when they need it more than alcohol beers or similars drinks, should think mpre about their professionals. Of course we need people who not have career in another ways, but, I believe all that housekeepers with all free time, por families, refugees, jubilates and people in free time who want to learn more... free university and academy would be a big present from States 🤗 Quote

But writing papers, especially dissertations, is difficult. It’s easier for me to find specialists here so that they can help me collect all the necessary data and literature. Literature reviews can be time-consuming, and sometimes this is something that needs to be delegated. Oh I love watch some films, and It is great! Quote
