Hockey's bad boy Sean Avery marries model Hilary Rhoda just days after he was arrested on drug charges

There are normally a few hiccups here and there before a wedding, but ending up behind bars is not usually one of them.
Then again, nothing is every usual when former New York Rangers Sean Avery is involved.
However despite having a run in with police, the 35-year-old managed to make it down the aisle on Saturday to marry model Hilary Rhoda.

The couple were married in a sunset ceremony at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, New York.
The hockey star and the 28-year-old model looked as if they had fallen straight out of a wedding magazine as they said 'I do'.
Sean looked particularly dapper in a grey suit which he wore with a white shirt buttoned to the collar but without a tie for a modern twist.

Of course, the star of the day was his beautiful bride who also dressed with a modern edge.
The model wore a silk Carolina Herrera gown very reminiscent of the simple slip dress worn by the late Carolyn Jeanne Bessette-Kennedy.
But her look was turned from bridal to couture thanks to a very unusual neckline that featured a black straps which cross crossed down her back and an emerald green beaded layer visible from under the keyhole cut out.

Allowing her beauty and gown to be the centerpieces, Hilary wore her brown locks slicked back into a bun where her chapel length veil was fastened.
Keeping with her simple yet modern theme, her bridesmaids all wore long black dresses which each had a different design on the top.
Snaps from guests show the couple smiling through their vows before running up the aisle hand-in-hand after being pronounced man and wife.

The pair have been dating on and off since 2010 and got engaged in 2013.
The happy day comes after a rather turbulent week and half.
On Wednesday, it was revealed the former hockey star had been arrested just a week prior, after he was accused of throwing objects at cars.
Police said that on September 29 motorists reported that a man was throwing objects at their vehicles in Southampton, New York.
When police questioned Sean he allegedly aggressively denied any wrongdoing, however after further investigation, police said they positively identified the star.
When they arrived at his home to arrest him the following day according to authorities, he was illegally in possession of the prescription drugs acetaminophen with oxycodone and roxicodone.

Both Sean and his attorney disputes this allegation.
He was charged with the misdemeanors of fourth-degree criminal mischief and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He was released following his arrest on $500 bail and handed a ticket to appear in court.
Prior to the story coming out publicly, Sean took to Twitter in a bid to clear his name.
The post showed a photo of a list of drugs the former NHL pro is prescribed, including various prescriptions for oxycontin.
The former star sportsman wrote along with the photo: 'Pretty disgusting I even have to do this but unfortunately it's the same old story. Have fun with this one.'
According to local news website 27East, just prior to reports of a man throwing objects at cars, Sean had called the police to report that people were speeding in his street.

Sean has long held a reputation for being a hot head and in November, the player reportedly had a 'meltdown' that led to his getting fired from the off-Broadway show he'd been slated to perform in.
When he appeared on season 18 of Dancing with the Stars, he was voted off on the second episode in what was widely reported to be a dismissal born of bad blood between Avery and a producer.
And prior to his retirement from the NHL in 2012, the sports star had a reputation for having a short fuse that often landed him in hot water with his team and the league.
