Blake Lively, 27

Actor-founder, Preserve

As a kid, Lively idolized Martha Stewart, and hoped to create her own lifestyle brand one day. But when a starring role in “Gossip Girl” came along when she was 19, Lively deferred her entrepreneurial dreams to chase the spotlight. Seven years later, Lively has established herself as one of the brightest stars in Hollywood, and she’s looking to leverage that fame into business success, launching her first web site, Preserve, last summer. Taking a page from Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop playbook, Preserve sells clothes, food and home goods that reflect Lively’s taste in U.S.-made artisanal goods, crafts and foods. “I have the unfair advantage of having an existing brand,” she says. Preserve is no hobby for Lively: The actress is personally involved in everything from uploading photos to raising money. Her mantra: Don’t stop striving. “I’ll never feel like I arrived. The people I look up to the most are the people that are continuin

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively Welcome First Child

A New Year — and a new baby!

Actors Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively welcomed their first child in December, PEOPLE has learned.
Although born early near the couple’s home in Bedford, New York, the baby — whose sex has not been revealed — is now doing well and is healthy.
Shortly after Lively, 27, announced her pregnancy on her lifestyle website, Preserve, she kicked off a series of stylish ensembles that showed off her growing belly.
“Have you seen me!?” she joked to PEOPLE in October. “I’m gonna amp up my style by wearing things that are stretchier — because that’s all that fits!”
As for Reynolds, 37, he pitched in by throwing out a few ideas on a possible name.
“On the plane over here I was trying to think of baby names. I don’t want a name that’s anything pretentious or, like, Hollywood-y,” he joked in October. “So I’m going with Excalibur Anaconda Reynolds … that’s if it’s a girl.”
But all kidding aside, Reynolds couldn’t contain his excitement over becoming a father.
“I’m just excited about having a buddy,” he told PEOPLE. “For a lot of new dads, you tend to dwell on the mistakes you don’t want to make. I’m at that stage still where I’m focused primarily on being open and understanding and leaving a lot of room for error.”
The New York Post‘s Page Six was the first to report the birth.

It’s a girl!

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds‘ bundle of joy is a baby girl the couple has named Violet, according to a tweet from someone who claims to work at Westchester Medical Center — but sources confirmed to Page Six that while Lively’s baby is a girl, her name may not be Violet.

Multiple sources say the 27-year-old actress gave birth just before the new year. While the child arrived earlier than expected, we’re told both mom and baby are healthy.

According to one source, Lively’s parents, Ernie and Elaine Lively, are currently with the couple and their new baby at home in Bedford, NY. Lively and Reynolds, 37, married in 2012.

It's the question we've all wanted to know: Is it a handsome boy or a beautiful girl?

And just one day after news broke that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds welcomed their first child together, E! News can confirm the baby's gender.

A family member reveals the couple's little bundle of joy is a lovely baby girl!

"They're all doing really well," the family insider told E! News. "They're obviously loving being new parents."

And as some reports suggest Lively gave birth before the holidays, our source can confirm most of the immediate family has left the couple alone allowing "just Blake, Ryan and the baby" together to savor all those precious milestones.

Just two months ago, Reynolds admitted to not knowing the sex of his upcoming family member. Instead, he was simply thrilled to welcome a child of his own.

"I'm just excited about having a buddy," he told People. "We don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet, but whatever it is, you have this tether to reality that never goes away."

He added, "I don't have a weak stomach. I'm good with diapers, diarrhea and all that kind of stuff because I have lots of nieces and nephews, so I've done it all before."

While we eagerly wait for the baby name reveal—we know Reynolds has more than a few ideas—the couple is simply enjoying the start of a new family that could expand once again.

"I came from a big family...a big family of Southerners," Lively told E! News in October. "I'm the youngest of five, so I never raised any siblings below me, but I'm always the person who's taking everyone else's kid and putting them on my hip, so I've kinda always been a mama. So we'll see."

New Mom Blake Lively: 'This Is the Happiest Time in My Life'

post-88519-0-1446094209-09634_thumb.jpg

Blake Lively says she has "always felt like a mama" – and now that she actually is one, the role feels natural.

"I don't feel like it's a massive change," she tells PEOPLE exclusively in this week's cover story.
The new mom and Preserve founder, 27, who welcomed her first child with husband Ryan Reynolds in December, is the youngest of five kids in a blended family and wants a big brood of her own.
"I do want to just enjoy this moment," she says. "But I also feel like my first child is going to be the oldest sibling to the next kid, and that may change with each and every year.
"I'm looking forward to how one baby influences the other, and to my family as a whole, to every single chapter."

Just named to Forbes's 30 Under 30 list of influential Millennials, she is also looking ahead to expanding Preserve, the lifestyle site she launched in July featuring a mix of fashion, food, beauty and philanthropy.
"So much of the inspiration came from my mom and my dad and my siblings," says the actress, who next stars in the period drama The Age of Adaline. "All the things I feel like I'm good at are thanks to my family, and they're things we're now embracing at Preserve: cooking, decorating, artistry. Family is at the heart of everything I do."
Between marriage, motherhood and her blossoming business, "This is the happiest time in my life, and I could say that every day," she says. "I often feel like, 'I can't believe I'm experiencing this.'"

From the red carpet to the streets of New York City, Blake Lively had oneseriously style pregnancy. But just how did she keep up her fashion-icon status while dressing for two? Because she didn’t mess with her personal style.“It’s important to still feel like yourself, because so much of your life is changing,” the new mom and founder of the lifestyle site Preserve tells PEOPLE of her pregnancy in this week’s exclusive cover story.

“I would’ve felt foreign in my own body if I’d started dressing differently.”
She means it: One of her standout red carpet looks during her pregnancy turned out to be a dress that wasn’t meant for a baby bump!

For L’Oréal’s Women of Worth dinner in New York City on Dec. 2, Lively wore a KaufmanFranco gown (which looked absolutely awesome from all angles) — and you could almost hear a collective whisper of “How?” from moms everywhere. It was clingy and backless!
Although it looked like it was made for her, Lively bought it herself, and it was hanging in her closet long before she chose to wear it. In fact, it wasn’t her first choice.
“I was going to wear a different dress that evening but … it broke,” she says. “I was too big! The zipper just broke. It popped right open. I changed right before I walked out the door. I have that dress for real life, not pregnant life.”
Lively insists that “other than maternity jeans, I didn’t buy anything maternity. Everything is my clothing, it’s something I can and will wear when I’m not pregnant.”
The Lindsey Thornburg cloaks that have become one of her signatures (they retail for $1,390 and she has four!) fit her simply stretchier maternity M.O.: “They’re magical and sexy, and so flattering but not body-conscious.”
Another element of her killer style that she maintained? Her penchant for sky-high heels by one Christian Louboutin.
“What can I say? I feel good when I’m wearing heels. I feel sexier, attractive,” she says. “When I put on Louboutins while super pregnant, it makes me feel more empowered in that moment, it gives me that extra oomph.”
Seeking out pairs that were upwards of four inches was a form of mommy-to-be retail therapy. “Trust me, when you see that scale starting to go up up up — and not the little number slide on top but the big number slide on the bottom — you go shopping and buy yourself some red-soled shoes,” she says.
Amen, Blake! If we could, we would.

Blake Lively might be a new mom, but she is clearly a seasoned trickster.

"That bitch! She tricked me!"Amber Tamblyn told PEOPLE about how she found out that herSisterhood of the Traveling Pantscostar had given birth.

Tamblyn, who was out to support her other Sisterhood costar and good friend America Ferrera at the launch of Ferrera's husband Ryan Piers Williams's art exhibit "Monsters and Landscapes" in N.Y.C. on Friday night, was clearly kidding about the bitch part – but she definitely got duped.

"I went up there and I didn't know, everybody knew but me, and she does that s--- to me," Tamblyn jokes of Lively. "She was texting me about wallpaper, she was like, 'You gotta come see my new wallpaper,' and I went up there, and there was her baby."

The 27-year-old gave birth to her first child with Ryan Reynolds in December. "We've all been over," Tamblyn told PEOPLE. "I'm very excited for her and Ryan, and to be an auntie. All of us are godmothers so we are very happy."

She added, "I took pictures with Ryan and the baby and sent them to Ken Kwapis, the Sisterhood director."

Ferrera is just as thrilled about Lively's little one. "I couldn't be more excited for her and Ryan, and they are going to be amazing parents," she said.

Blake Lively has been hard at work on her website, Preserve, after the birth of her baby girl!

The new mama was spotted shopping for home goods at the NY Now, the Market for Home + Lifestyle earlier this week, where she was checking out the scene for items to feature on her new project.

The new mama stopped by the Noir booth where she checked out lighting fixtures fromWostbrockHome and seemed to immediately take a liking to Arteriors Reeves pendants and the Noir rain chandelier.

An eyewitness tells E! News that "she looked absolutely flawless" during her shopping trip.

And while the stunning actress didn't let her top-secret baby name slip around shoppers, shewas overheard talking about how she's been enjoying motherhood very much and that her baby is perfect
