But SI targets adult men & I don't think Carla is too popular with that demographic & editors probably know that

This year SI had a 12-page style guide sponsored by Target. Amidst the naked gals in body paint is an ad-sponsored supplement from the retailer that shows women how they, too, can attain that tousled, come-hither look when they’re heading to the beach. Emily can sell comfortably to that target demographic without even trying as she often comes across as not too sexy, family-oriented, and personable to that average woman.."If SI thinks Cara can appeal to the male demographic (hello super pedo vibe) AND stay related-able to woman while selling the bikini's... why not?You guys seem to get way top personal in why SI/VS they do the things they do, or why they pick models certain models, or don't pick models. Doesn't matter. They pick who can SELL, and who's available.
April 22, 201312 yr Yes but their main target is still men, I doubt Carla would ever make it to SI because, I just don't think it will ever work for her. She's not like Emily who is perfect to sell us women swimsuits but she also manages to look in-your-face sexy and appealing to men, as much of a pedo vibe that Carla can have I don't think the average american man will look at her and think "She's hot". I think Carla for SI would be just awkward.
April 22, 201312 yr I really hope that SI gives Barbara Palvin an opportunity to work with them ....I wonder if she will ever go/has already been to a casting.....I think she would be a MAGNIFICENT addition to their current roster esp since they are MOST DEF a company( unlike another popular brand we already know cough cough) who not only welcomes women with gorgeous curves but also celebrates them .....hiring Barbara would be a WIN/WIN decision for both parties involved..she is VERY popular right now ( there is no point in denying that fact), she is incredibly beautiful with an amazingly beautiful womanly healthy body and men generally seem to really love her type of special beauty .....and working with SI Swim would be one of THE BIGGEST highlights in her modelling career so far...if EVER !!!!! Plus as member Prettyphile posted out some time back most of the Intimissimi models like Irina etc tend to be scouted by SI so maybe they already have her on their radar ..plus she worked with photographer Raphael Mazzucco for the Intimissimi pics and commercials and according to Wiki - Raphael Mazzucco's photographs have appeared on the cover of three Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues in a four year span, including the 2006, 2008 and 2009 main cover. Reccently he woked with VS Swim in Saint Barts too . April 22, 201312 yr According to Walker Jacobs the Executive Vice President at Turner (who owns SI), Forbes and Business Week SI Swim isn't really geared towards men anymore, yes it's bundled in a nice little package for the sports enthusiasts (naked ass will get some men continuing their subscriptions and if the cover girl is hot they'll buy on spur of the moment), but it's geared towards woman, retailers (money, money, money), and designers. This also was confirmed by one of our BZ members who is a bikini designer and has been published with SI for 3 years running.So I dunno, don't really care. If Cara models, she models. If she can sell and make the retailers money and SI in turn gets a nice little return on ad space so be it. If not oh well. Always another "pretty" girl waiting in the wings for her chance.

All the other girls have done at least one video, including Kate Upton ... I don't know if it means something but this and the fact that Irina only attended one party to promote SI this year, make me think that she's done with them, which I feel is for the best, because while I do like her a lot I think that she hasn't delivered strong material since 2011
