Zoe Saldana: Not Hooking Up with Bradley Cooper

He’s People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive, but Bradley Cooper's rumored romance with Zoe Saldana is apparently all made up.

The “Hangover” hunk was supposedly intimately involved with the “Avatar” babe since September when they were seen “acting like two high school kids going steady” while out in Manhattan.

But Zoe’s rep has come to her defense, definitively declaring that Saldana is nothing more than friends with Mr. Cooper.

“Look at this source- unbelievable- they are friends who worked on a recent film called The Words also co starring Jeremy Irons and Olivia Wilde,” said the rep.

Bradley Cooper - Bradley Cooper Thinks Ryan Gosling Is Rightful Sexiest Man Alive

Bradley Cooper feels uncomfortable since People magazine editors named him Sexiest Man Alive - because he's convinced his pal Ryan Gosling actually deserves the title.

The Hangover hunk has claimed the 2011 crown but admits Gosling is a more deserving winner as the Canadian actor always looks groomed.

He tells U.K. talk show host Graham Norton, "It's so awful that I'm admitting this but the hell with it - there was such a backlash to when they announced it. Ryan Gosling, who I love and I just did a movie with him, he's the greatest, but we were both in Paris this last week and a friend of mine showed me photographs (of us) from the paparazzi. When I say friend I mean me alone in my room looking at the computer!

"There's him walking around and he literally looks like he's in a photoshoot, like he just came off the runway. And there's ones of me and I literally look like the neighbour who never really comes out of his house. And when he does you're like, 'Maybe he should just stay in! We don't know what he does in there!' So it's been interesting."

Cooper admits he's still coming to terms with all the adulation, adding, "It's the worst! It's just so awful. I'm finally at an age, I'm 36 years old, where I really don't care about anything like that anymore, which is a wonderful thing. Then this (People magazine title) happened and I started to realise how not sexy I am. I have a lot of moments where I'll be walking out, I open up the door and think, 'I could do that a lot sexier. That was not very sexy at all!'"

YEAAAAAHHHH!!!

Bradley Cooper - Bradley Cooper To Suffer Another The Hangover

Bradley Cooper has confirmed The Hangover cast is set to reunite for a second sequel set in Los Angeles.

The actor shot to international fame with his role in the 2009 Las Vegas-based comedy opposite Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha, and a follow-up, The Hangover Part II, set in Thailand, was released earlier this year (11).

Cooper has now revealed filming on the third installment should begin next September (12) and he believes the film will be set in California.

He tells TV host Graham Norton, "I hope we'll start shooting next September. I know (director) Todd Phillips is working on the script. We stuck to the formula in the second one but the third would need to close the trilogy. I think it'll take place in L.A. and not adhere to the structure."

Bradley Cooper Discusses Prepping for Paradise Lost and Dropping Out of The Crow

If things had gone according to plan, actor Bradley Cooper could have been playing two otherworldly "angels" in upcoming movies associated with director Alex Proyas, instead of just one. Cooper recently performed a motion-capture "test" in preparation to begin filming the Proyas-directed Paradise Lost adaptation, in which he will play Lucifer, the fallen angel of light. At one time, he was also on tap to play an angel of vengeance in The Crow, a reboot of Proyas' 1994 movie inspired by James O'Barr's cult hit comic book.

Cooper recently took a break from filming his latest movie, The Silver Linings Playbook, to discuss the DVD release of The Hangover Part II with Empire, but he also shared a few details Paradise Lost. The actor discussed his approach to playing Lucifer from the way he will change his voice to correspond with the character's fall from grace to even showing some set photos of himself in motion-capture gear taken during pre-production tests. Cooper also touched on the demise of The Crow, saying that he ultimately left the movie after Juan Carlos Fresnadillo dropped out as director.

Cooper revealed that Paradise Lost will go into production on January 12th, and that he will be shooting in Australia for three months. He joked that there's no way to prepare for playing Lucifer — "You just wing it." — but did touch on some of the subtle changes he will make during the character's story arc.

Bradley Cooper: Being the sexiest man alive is unhelpful as an actor

Bradley Cooper chats to Metro about the impact of The Hangover, how he's preparing to play Satan in new film Paradise Lost and why he's worried being named the sexiest man alive may have a detrimental effect on his career.

.Did the cliché about sequels never being as good as the original put you off doing The Hangover Part II?

No, because the script was so good. It was a much darker vision of a lost night set in Bangkok. I was looking forward to getting back into [my character] Phil’s shoes and working with those guys again after two years.

When was the last time you had an alcohol-induced blackout?

Years ago. I was susceptible to the calling of alcoholic beverages. It was seasonal: Scotch in the winter, gin and tonic in the summer, spring, fall, winter…

Any memorable occasions when things got a bit out of hand?

I banged my head on the concrete floor of a basement in New York. I was showing off. It was during the song Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson. I had to get stitches.

What impact did The Hangover have on your career?

It opened a lot of doors. I don’t think I’d have got Limitless [with Robert de Niro] if I hadn’t done The Hangover. Financially, it meant I could take care of my parents. I still have to fight for stuff: the idea of being offered a part wasn’t in my vocabulary before. I was offered stuff in the same vein as The Hangover afterwards but I didn’t want to do it.

You’re the Sexiest Man Alive, according to People magazine – how’s that?

It’s so ridiculous. It’s not helpful to have that label as an actor. We’ll see: hopefully it won’t be to my detriment.

Is there a difference between being a film star and being an actor?

It’s a syllogism – if you’re a film star, you’re an actor who acts in movies, right? I’m an actor, that’s all I know. The rest of it is just ephemeral bulls***. It’s here today, gone tomorrow and so much of it is driven by social media. The turnover of all this is at such high velocity. If you hold on to any of it then shame on you.

The ephemeral bulls*** aspect of it can change people’s careers, can’t it?

For a day, maybe. Things come and go fast. I’d hope all that sort of stuff doesn’t affect directors wanting to work with me. That would be awful. I don’t think it would open doors to any work I want to do. I’ve just played a guy who is released from a mental institution and has split up from his wife, who has taken out a restraining order against him. It’s a drama-comedy. I don’t think I need to worry about being pigeonholed.

Why did you want to become an actor?

Because of movies such as The Elephant Man, The Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now and Raging Bull. My father showed me those movies when I was about 12. My parents were very nervous about my career choice. I don’t come from a family of thespians. I was fortunate enough to pay off my student loans through acting work in two years, which is a miracle.

Who have you learned the most from working with?

Robert De Niro. Just about not doing too much. Acting is getting in the way of what’s already there.

What are the perks of fame?

I really don’t know. It’s about integrating fame into your life so it becomes normal and you don’t have to change your life. I’ll never stop taking the subway and walking around. The price you pay is getting photographed but it comes and goes. It’s bad now because of that People magazine thing but I know it will go away again. I was fine for months – when I was in Paris in August I hung out in a huge tourist place reading a book and got nothing. But when I went back recently I had 20 people following me around. I’m sure it will go away again.

How are you preparing to play Satan in (I, Robot director Alex Proyas’s) Paradise Lost?

When I talk to someone I think of how much I hate them. Just kidding. I can really relate to the story of Paradise Lost. I did a Milton course as part of my English degree and fell in love with that character because I couldn’t believe how appetising he is in that poem. Satan is the hero. It’s a story we can all relate to – Dad’s gone crazy and he wants us to worship the dog and then his brother says: ‘Dad’s right.’ It’s about the father betraying the character.

Giving Milton’s Paradise Lost an action-packed film adaptation is going to invite criticism isn’t it?

You bet it’s going to be criticised. You’re taking one of the greatest pieces of literature of the past 300 years but who cares? It really is a wonderful experiment.

What else do you want to achieve in your career?

I want to direct. My writing partner and I are adapting The Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons, a sci-fi writer. It’s a four-book series. It’s not that I thought I wanted to do something unreachable: I just love the material and we’re having a crack at it. We wrote a 40-page treatment and we’ll start working on it in the summer.

Paradise Lost movie put on hold?

Just weeks before production was set to start, Alex Proyas' movie of Paradise Lost, starring Bradley Cooper, has hit a fairly hefty problem...

We’re seeing a growing number of interesting projects put on hold as their budget heads into uncomfortable territory for Hollywood studio executives. In the past year alone, Guillermo del Toro’s At The Mountains Of Madness and Ron Howard’s take on Dark Tower have each had the brakes applied, with a too-hefty bill cited as the key reason.

It looks like you might have to add Paradise Lost to the list, at least for the moment.

The film, which was set to be directed by Alex Proyas, was supposed to start physical production in January. Inspired by the John Milton peom, Bradley Cooper was set to play Lucifer against Benjamin Walker’s Michael, but Deadline is reporting that the start date for the movie has now been postponed.

Fortunately, it seems that the film hasn’t been scrapped outright. Rather, that Legendary Pictures is wanting to scale back the budget.

Currently, the planned spend is in the $120m range for the film, and Deadline suggests that a saving of 10-15% on that is what’s being looked for. As such, things are, temporarily at least, on hold.

We’ll keep you posted as to when things get moving again. Hopefully, it won’t be long, but it’s disappointing that things are being held up. Keen to see this one.
