Celebrity Central: P. Diddy, Pam Anderson, Michael Douglas hit town on GP weekend

ALANA COATES for The Gazette (Canada)

June 09, 2008

On the biggest party weekend of the year, anything can happen.

The stars flocked to the city in droves this year for Grand Prix, hosting exclusive parties and drinking champagne among the moneyed crowds.

Tough to say what was the city's biggest party Saturday night - it's a toss-up between rapper and fashion mogul P. Diddy's party at Tribe Hyperclub in Old Montreal, and Pamela Anderson's appearance at Club Opera on Ste. Catherine St.

Perhaps more exciting, though, were the tantalizing rumours Lindsay Lohan might accompany her friend Samantha Ronson to Buonanotte on St. Laurent Blvd. late last night.

Like any self-respecting international superstar, P. Diddy showed up three hours late to his party, escorted to the club on foot by his entourage and bodyguards from nearby Hotel St. James, where he was staying.

Looking dapper in a shiny grey suit, Diddy was full of enthusiasm and praise for Grand Prix weekend in Montreal.

"This is more of a smaller, pretty type of city, you know what I'm saying - it has a lot more personality than a lot of the bigger cities," he said on his way inside the club.

Supermodel Marisa Miller looked stunning at Diddy's party in a satiny beige dress and classic Christian Louboutin heels, with music-producer boyfriend Griffin Guess at her side.

Miller was voted the hottest woman on the planet by Maxim magazine this year.

Canada's rising-star rapper Kardinal Offishall was flown in to Montreal by Diddy's clothing company Sean John Saturday, the only day off he's had in a while, he said.

"Diddy's parties are crazy, always crazy," he said. "Sometimes it all ends up being a big party in the street."

Pamela Anderson, predictably, was greeted by a mob of screaming fans and flashing cameras outside Club Opera downtown Saturday as she arrived to host a swimsuit competition.

Her trademark flowing blonde mane and long limbs couldn't detract from the fact that her white shorts were perhaps a little too tight for her, to put it politely. But that was probably the point.

Needless to say, the club was packed with men clamouring to get a better glimpse of the Canadian-born actress.

Elsewhere in the city, Michael Douglas was spotted exiting Hotel St. James Saturday, always a favourite hotel among members of Hollywood's A-list.

Rumours swirled of other celebrities in town - Michael J. Fox, Bette Midler, Leonardo Di Caprio, and so on. Were they here or weren't they? Reports are unconfirmed.

In any case, that's part of the fun of Grand Prix weekend - you never know who you'll run into.

Marisa must have hundreds of dresses that she only wears once and never wears again

She mentioned in one of the interviews that she usually doesnt wear such dresses more then once ( since she is' a jeans and a tshirt girl':)) so...yeah... lol

Most celebs don't wear formal outfits more than once :)
