Hopefully someone can scan these! And hopefully this post works someday soon!

Hmm, those pictures are from the Malibu Magazine photoshoot. The second pic is new to me but the rest are old news. Here, I'll post the UHQ version of the third picture just in case you already forgot that I scanned it back in the summer.

^ The cover is also new - at least to me it is.

Here is the full interview. Unfortunately the site doesn't give the pics with the article. <_<

Marisa Miller: Earth Angel

Written By Maria Tettamanti / Photographed By Steven Lippman

In a business where Brazilian and Russian belles are aplenty, model Marisa Miller makes one proud to be an American. Homegrown in California, the supermodel describes herself as "The all-American girl with a simple, earthy upbringing," but her career stats tell a less-than-simple story. This past year in particular has been an exceptional one for Miller—she snagged the coveted cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and was inducted into official Victoria’s Secret Angel-dom. The rest, folks, is model history.

Ironically, Miller's childhood was the furthest thing from the limelight and the glossy pages she now appears in. Miller says, "My sisters and I grew up in the country. We had horses and goats and there wasn't really any relevance to the entertainment industry." She adds, "I had no idea that modeling was even a job. The fact that I'm a model now is something totally out of the scope of what I was thinking in terms of a career for myself."

Born and raised in the sun-splashed city of Santa Cruz, Miller was a stellar surfer and volleyball player in high school. Her foray into modeling was quite serendipitous as legendary lensman Mario Testino discovered her while vacationing in 2001. Miller says, "I happened to get approached by one of the best photographers in the world. I had no idea who he was nor had any awareness about the fashion industry, which is probably a good thing, because I think it would have been really intimidating for me."

Mesmerized by the blonde bombshell, Testino snapped away as Miller surfed. "I remember him saying things to me like, 'This is going to change your life.' And I was like, 'I don’t know what you’re talking about,'" she says. She signed with an agent under the premise Testino would exclusively work with her for six months. She says, "The agency laughed at me and was like, ‘Do you even know who Mario is?'"

As luck would have it, Miller's introduction into the somewhat sketchy business of modeling was anything but ugly. "To have that kind of beginning is something that I'm forever grateful for, she confesses. "I had a big break and kind of went through a back door. To have people's respect right away is something I appreciate, and I'm so fortunate to have gotten started like that."

Miller first appeared in the 2002 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and a panoply of print and catalog spreads ensued. Victoria’s Secret, Tommy Hilfiger, J. Crew, Andrew Marc and True Religion campaigns followed. Miller’s face graced the covers of Vogue, Esquire, Shape and more. Recently, Maxim debuted Miller as No. 1 on their "Hot 100" list—another accolade to add to her brimming résumé. "It’s surreal," Miller says of her success. "My upbringing was simple and something that I will always treasure but modeling has exposed to me to so many cultures, people and places," she explains. It's definitely something Miller's family gets a kick out of, she says. "It’s really weird when you’ve been getting the Victoria’s Secret catalog in the mail all your life and then one day, poof, you're in it," she adds.

Miller considers the Victoria's Secret fashion show to be the highlight of her career. "It's the event of all events and larger than life," she gushes. "This is my second year and we’re all so excited that it's in Miami this year." The model confesses to loving South Florida’s spicy energy and finds its beaches calming and soothing.

Modeling aside, Miller dabbles in design and acting. She's collaborated with Vans and launched her own line—a first-ever collaboration between the shoe giant and a supermodel. Miller’s also flaunted her acting chops on the small screen with guest appearances on Entourage, How I Met Your Mother and the NFL's television campaign.

When not hopping from one island to the next for photo shoots, Miller's passions include surfing, music, spoiling her sisters and even cooking. "I love cooking. I don’t get a chance to do it much anymore. There were days when I would make a pie from scratch just for fun—it's somehow very relaxing. When you're traveling a lot, you really value your home, and it gives me a sense of stability," she says.

Miller also exudes a refreshing outlook on life. She admits, "I've been told that I’m pretty down to earth. I'm the same person that I've always been. I think it's really important to keep your feet on the ground." Ah, beauty and brains, you've got to love the girl—size 2 waist and all.

Hurray, this time it only took ten or so error messages to get the preview post to work and three error messages for the actual post to work!

Just a little bit of "news" (from the 3rd) from OK! Magazine about an afterparty for the release of "Cadillac Records" (the new Beyonce and Adrian Brody film):

Joining them to celebrate the release of the movie, which follows the rise of the legendary Chess Records, were Leo DiCaprio and his buddy, Entourage's Kevin Connolly, as well as Russell Simmons -- who seemed rapt in conversation with Sports Illustrated model Marisa Miller.

HAH! I knew that cover looked kinda familiar to me! It turns out the picture used in that cover was also used in the Malibu editorial but it was a black & white greyscale of just Marisa's eyes.

Here, take a look and see for yourself.

See, you can't fool us with your tomfoolery, SIX DEGREES! EFF YOU!

^^No, it's highly unlikely that magazine is sold outside those four cities (Vegas, Detroit, Miami, Atlanta), so I doubt us Los Angelenos will see it here. But I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for it.

wow. I had no idea Marisa was in a Puddle of Mud vid. I just saw it because it's her round in the Model Music Vid Competition.

She looks great.

BTW, I'll also keep a look out for that mag in NYC. Hopefully someone can find it. ;)

There should be candids from the shoot back on page 245 (I say "should" because it's all blank to me).
