Beckham: Unity key to Real Madrid success

David Beckham says the key to Real Madrid's form reversal is the unity that now exists inside the dressing room.

After victory over Sevilla, the midfielder said: "Our intention is to go for the title and to win against Sevilla was a great step. Many of our players have won titles before, so we already have experience. We are all together as a team and that is fundamental to carry out our intentions.

"Things have changed in the dressing room and on the field because we are more united. Now we are a team. There are no individuals and that is good. This is how we must continue."

On teammate Ruud van Nistelrooy, Beckham said of the former Manchester United striker: "Ruud is an incredible player. He is having a great season and has shown this by the goals he scored against Sevilla. If he can continue doing this, then we will have a great opportunity to win the title. That is the aim."

Beckham to Sky Sports

"We are together as a team and I think that what's good about the way we are performing at the moment"

David Beckham admits he is going to miss huge football nights - like he enjoyed on Sunday as Real Madrid defeated Sevilla.

Real are just two points off top-of-the-table Barcelona following an enthralling victory over Sevilla.

Beckham will leave Europe this summer to join Los Angeles Galaxy on a five-year contract and he knows he will find it hard to leave behind such occasions.

"You are always going to miss nights like this because they are special, the way the atmosphere is, the way the people are, the way the team played," said Beckham.

"You are always going to miss something like that, but everybody moves on.

"I`m going to cherish these next five games, a few at home and then a few away."

Beckham has never won a major trophy during his near four-year stint with Madrid but he feels the club can take the league title.

"(This) win was a big step towards that," he said.

"We needed to win this game and every game is crucial for us now, not just because it was against Sevilla because we have to win every game.

"We are together as a team and I think that what`s good about the way we are performing at the moment. Even when we are losing we are coming back and winning games.

"Things have definitely changed in the changing room, and on the pitch, because we are more together as a team.

"There are no individuals. It is good, we`ve still got a great team. We`ve obviously let great players go as well, but we are performing at the moment and that is the way it should be."

I Will Miss Real Madrid - Beckham

David Beckham has admitted that he will miss Real Madrid, and nights such as Sunday, when the Bernabeu was one against Sevilla.

"You are always going to miss something like that, but everybody moves on.

"I`m going to cherish these next five games, a few at home and then a few away."

Moving on to the way the team had come on towards the end of the season, he said: "We are together as a team and I think that what`s good about the way we are performing at the moment.

"Even when we are losing we are coming back and winning games.

"Things have definitely changed in the changing room, and on the pitch, because we are more together as a team.

"There are no individuals. It is good, we`ve still got a great team.

"We`ve obviously let great players go as well, but we are performing at the moment and that is the way it should be."
