Reporters are doing interesting things in trying to understand the number of deaths by the virus. They are looking back at what is a normal number of deaths for a specific area for a week or month and comparing that to recent deaths reported. I have seen reports like this from China, Spain, and Ecuador.

Of course, you can't use this information to know for certain which people died from the virus, but it does give an idea of how far off the official numbers are. For some regions/cities the difference the numbers can be in the hundreds or thousands.

^^  Men are dying from the virus at a higher level. We may end up finding out the main reason for that is men are more reluctant to see a doctor until the disease is too advanced.

Yeah maybe men just think it's just a cold or allergies before it's too late. :idk:

I think with the funding the government that is giving hospitals for Corona deaths that it's going to skew the numbers.

Just don't think we'll ever get a reliable death toll besides that issue and the politicizing of the Corona too.

The virus discriminates people on the basis of their gender. So, the virus is a bigot! I hope that the shining, smart, stunning and brave Brie Larson will step up against this vile bigotry! :nicole:

Luckily, Titania is always there for social justice. So stunning and brave

I've read that in some newspaper... The article was very weak and there were no evidence shown to prove this (maybe your article was better, but mine was really bad). Maybe it's because there are more men with diabetes than women. Maybe because of some other effects or hidden variables. Who knows.

Maybe journalists will hear about statistics and factor analysis one day... and maybe they'll understand that many of the fake theories they spread (like the gender pay gap) are unfounded views of the world. Who knows

It's one of the many things we won't know for a while, and maybe never know with certainty. For example, the number of cases and deaths will eventually be given by different organizations and researchers in ranges, not in specific numbers.

Some people think that the number of cases might be underestimated by... a factor of 20, some other say 40 or 80 or even a 100!

If we take into consideration all these opinions, it means that the number of cases in the world is somewhere between 2 and 200 million people! Quite the uncertainty indeed.  :bounce:

You really like this show, don't you?

Why is that so good?  I mean your girls are cute but they are no Angelica or Yasmine

Yes! It's difficult to put in words, but the show has everything! It's like Friends x The Big Bang Theory times a billion. They get even cuter once you get to know them (personality factor).  I highly recommend that you give it a try

@Matt! What's your video game of the moment?

Been busy watching Community for the past week, but once I'm done with it, I'm going to watch Final Fantasy VII Remake vids  From what I've seen, it looks really promising

I don't want anyone to get sick from the virus, but I thought of a philosophical question today:

If people are protesting in groups while saying the virus is not real, do they deserve to get it from each other?
