I've found so many gems here it's just right to give back and I'm glad I'm able to. Diese Woche: Vanessa Hegelmaier, die bei Heidi Klums Modelsuche ausstieg und jetzt wirklich Topmodel ist. Respekt, Frau Hegelmaier, Sie sind die erste Teilnehmerin von Germany’s Next Topmodel, die wirklich Topmodel wurde. Vanessa Hegelmaier: Im Moment läuft es tatsächlich sehr gut. Ich bin bei den Modenschauen in New York für Hervé Léger gelaufen, in Mailand für Missoni, in Paris für Celine. Alles sehr aufregend. Vor drei Wochen saß ich noch nichts ahnend in Bielefeld an meiner Bachelorarbeit in Mathematik. Und nächste Woche fliegen Sie für eine Werbekampagne von DKNY wieder nach New York. War wohl doch besser, dass Sie bei Germany’s Next Topmodel vor dem Finale ausgestiegen sind. Das ist alles Glückssache. Aber wenn man bei dieser Show gewinnt, spricht man – wie soll ich das sagen – vielleicht eine andere Klientel an. Hätten Sie gewonnen, würden Sie jetzt einen VW Scirocco fahren und für C & A modeln. Tja, Germany’s Next Topmodel ist wohl doch eher eine Unterhaltungsshow. Es hieß, Sie hatten eine Gehirnerschütterung. Stimmt das? Oder wollten Sie nur keinen Vertrag mit Vater Klum unterschreiben? Ich lag wirklich drei Tage in Deutschland im Krankenhaus. Danach hätte ich zu den Dreharbeiten nach Australien fliegen können. Aber ich habe mich dagegen entschieden. Es war eben doch nicht mein Lebenstraum, »Germany’s Next Topmodel« zu werden. Von Verträgen weiß ich nichts. Das ist vielleicht bei den fünf Finalistinnen so, aber da war ich zum Glück nicht mehr dabei. Warum haben Sie eigentlich mitgemacht? In Bielefeld, wo ich studiere, fand ein Casting statt. Zwei Freundinnen haben meine Bewerbung abgeschickt, eher zum Spaß. Insofern wäre ich ohne die Sendung wohl nie zum Modeln gekommen. Und nach Ihrem Ausstieg? Bin ich erst einmal zurück zur Uni. Aber ich habe schon gemerkt, dass mir das Modeln Spaß macht. Daher habe ich zwei Fotos an die Agentur Place Models gemailt – und nach vier Minuten hat mein Handy geklingelt. Wie viel hat der echte Job mit dem zu tun, was in der Sendung passiert? Die Castings in der Show sind schon relativ authentisch. Nur dass in der Realität nicht 15 Mädchen, sondern 200 warten. Du gehst rein, zeigst dein Buch mit Fotos, läufst, der eine Castingdirektor findet dein Gesicht hübsch, der andere langweilig. Dann geht es weiter, weil man am Tag noch 14, 15 Castings hat. Und, ist das Geschäft wirklich so hart? Bisher waren alle sehr nett zu mir. Ich konnte ja anfangs nicht mal richtig auf hohen Schuhen laufen! Zum Üben hatte ich High Heels von zu Hause mitgenommen. Als ich die den anderen Models bei den Castings zeigte, wurde ich ausgelacht: Ihre Absätze waren doppelt so hoch wie meine. Sie haben mir erst mal beigebracht, wie man läuft. Nun werden Sie von IMG in New York vertreten, der Agentur von Gisele Bündchen, Julia Stegner – und Heidi Klum. Was wäre, wenn Sie ihr über den Weg liefen? Oh, gute Frage. Wird wahrscheinlich nie passieren. Aber falls doch – und sollte sie mich dann auch wiedererkennen –, würde ich wohl ganz normal reagieren. Allerdings wüsste ich nicht, was ich da groß sagen soll. Edit: You can vote for Vanessa at Vogue.de, they search for the Model of the year, she's definately in good company there.
