January 3, 20241 yr Readers’ Poll Results — The Best Films of 2023 Over 350 lists were gathered for our annual readers’ poll. I want thank everyone who participated. This was a lot of fun to work on. I’m not surprised by the top two (Nolan and Scorsese), which might mirror my own list, but you’re all major ‘Holdovers’ fans. You also have massive love for Ari Aster’s polarizing “Beau is Afraid.” Check out “Dream Scenario” at #14 — I didn’t expect that. Obviously, some films have only been in theaters for a few weeks, so titles like “Poor Things” (#6) and “The Iron Claw” (#15) would have most likely fared better if I had waited a few weeks to conduct the poll. Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” did not do as well as I expected, it finished 23rd. When compared to the critics’ tally — it’s currently the fifth most listed film of 2023 — it’s quite clear that our readers don’t share the same amount of love for Gerwig’s film as critics do. Results — 1) Oppenheimer (81 votes) 2) Killers of the Flower Moon (68) 3) The Holdovers (58) 4) Anatomy of A Fall (53) 5) May December (49) 6) Poor Things (48) 7) Past Lives (47) 8 )The Boy and the Heron (42) 9) Beau is Afraid (41) 10) The Zone of Interest (39) 11) The Killer (31) 12) Asteroid City (30) 13) Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (29) 14) Dream Scenario (27) 15) The Iron Claw (23) 16) Maestro (23) 17) How to Blowup A Pipeline (21) 18) Fallen Leaves (21) 19) All Of Us Strangers (19) 20) Saltburn (19) 21) Godzilla Minus One (18) 22) As Bestas (16) 23) Barbie (16) 24) Passages (16) 25) Pacifiction (15) 26) Perfect Days (14) 27) Blackberry (14) 28) Talk to Me (14) 29) John Wick 4 (12) 30) The Taste of Things (11) I went through the movies and it's not much I actually watched I have to admit: Oppenheimer, KOTFM, Maestro, Saltburn and Barbie... that's it 😄 On my watchlist: The Holdovers, Anatomy of a Fall, May December, Poor Things (even though I HATED the trailer too much weirdness for me LOL), Past Lives*, The Iron Claw, How to Blowup A Pipeline*, All Of Us Strangers, Godzilla Minus One, Passages, Talk to Me*, The Taste of Things (*3 of all movies are actually available in germany at this point) not sure: The Killer, Beau is Afraid, The Zone of Interest, Dream Scenario (even though I prefer Nicolas Cage over Phoenix and especially Fassbender any day) Also THIS In case you wonder what Leo smells like Cool Girl Candles has the answer https://www.coolgirlcandles.com/products/this-smells-like-leonardo-dicaprio-candle?_pos=1&_sid=670de48b4&_ss=r
January 3, 20241 yr I need to know what the candle smells like 😊 Two of my faveourite Leo costars mention him/Titanic in these new interviews. W seems to have interviewed every oscar contender of this season but of course Leo did not do any award campaigning interviews 😭
January 3, 20241 yr Very cool making of the movie book for KOTFM. I want one! I hope it will be purchasable somewhere:🙏 https://www.instagram.com/p/C1n1gvErb08/ I made a screenshot of that second where I think an unseen pic of Lily and Leo (?) is shown. Do you think that's them too? It is kind of difficult to see.

January 4, 20241 yr Bad news for Leo on the other hand. His name appeared in court on the Epstein list (among others). via goldderby
January 4, 20241 yr Lily mentioned Leo twice in this interview. I love these roundables so much. It's really fascinating seeing them interact and share experiences and stories. Too bad Leo didn't participate in one of those. My dream would be actors on actors with Leo and Lily or Leo and Kate Winslet 🥰
January 4, 20241 yr KOTFM on apple January 12th Also KOTFM #11 at metacritics best movies 2023 https://www.metacritic.com/pictures/best-movies-of-2023/3/

Hopefully, he just kept it over 18.

January 4, 20241 yr Until now Leo and others have just been named in the court documents as seen in the screenshots. Leo was just name dropped. Of course the press just wants clicks and bad press always sells..
January 4, 20241 yr ^Why on earth they asked him about Leo, Blanchett and Diaz specifically? Edit: Ok this transcript is not about questioning Epstein but one of his victims. She never met Leo and co but Epstein talked/bragged about them in her presence.
January 5, 20241 yr A rep for Leo already denied. Just someone mentioning him and now everyone’s calling Leo a pedophile. That’s just outrageous. 😡
