We are a little physical sometimes, but we have enough skills to mix it with the big boys. If not, we can always break their legs We're a good unit. We're organised and determined to do well. Unfortunately, we lack players with class and finesse. If anyone, it'd be Kewell and Bresciano that had those attributes. June 21, 200618 yr Germany crushed Ecuador 3-0 and Sweden! My goodness! I swore it was going to be 1-1 then Gerrard scored and I was so pissed <_< . But Larsson scored too, and I was so relieved. Can't have England breaking the record now, Sweden vs Germany is going to be really tough because Germany so good, and I have no idea who I want to get through because I like both teams about equally, too. Plus I might not even get the chance to watch it, I think I'll be out then. But that's neither here nor there. I was disgusted by Rooney's hissy fit on being subsitituted - what's that all about? If you can't take being substituted, following the coach's orders (no matter how inept he is) - and it's for the good of your stupid foot anyway - then you shouldn't play. Period. Walcott, though, I pity him so much. He's never going to get a game unless England are 3-0 up with 15 minutes to go (how likely will that be?!) which means he'll never play, and with Owen out (I feel bad though because I laughed at him at first, I thought he just lost his balance. Then I realised he was in so much pain ), Eriksson's plan has backfired because he only has Crouch and Rooney now (we won't include Walcott for the reason above). But what's new? He really is one of the worst managers in the world. I hope Ecuador beats England, and you know what? They just might. even if they don't, they won't go past the quarter-finals. They've been riding on their luck so far, it's got to end sooner or later.
June 21, 200618 yr Now that Rooney can play, Walcott doesn't have much use. He doesn't have the experience, just raw talent. He'd get marked out of a game with his physique and apparently, although he has plenty of pace, he's not really suited to playing along the flanks. If they're not going to play him in their last game, then I don't think they'll play him at all, unless conservative Sven has to change his tactics, but I doubt that'll happen, unless its for something more defensive.
