A little more on the transfer.

France playmaker Gourcuff set to move to Lyon

LYON, France (AP) — Lyon has reached an agreement with Bordeaux over the transfer of France playmaker Yoann Gourcuff.

The two clubs agreed Monday on a transfer fee of 22 million ($27.8 million).

If the 24-year-old Gourcuff passes a medical it will be the second major offseason signing for Lyon, which also recruited winger Jimmy Briand from Rennes.

The move for Gourcuff may have been influenced by Honorato Ederson's long-term injury. The Brazilian playmaker hurt his hamstring in a friendly between Brazil and the United States earlier this month and will be sidelined for several months.

22 million? That is a lot of money to spend on someone based off of one really good season.

His liberation clause was actually 26M, so he got off easy. I have to say, I disliked the way he handled his departure though. And the OL kits are godawful.

Yeah, I knew his liberation clause was more. I don't really know the state of Lyon's midfield right now, but I still thinks that is too much money to spend on a player based on one good season. I also agree that I didn't really like the way he handled his departure, especially leaving Bordeaux with so little time to find a replacement for him. No comment on the Lyon kits. :pinch:

It also happens to be the Finistère's number (his home departement), but I'm pretty sure that's just a cover up.

Pics of his medical there: http://www.kickette.com/yoann-gourcuff-lyo...lit-adult-movie

BTW it is totally unethical and illegal to post a video of any kind of medical exam in France AFAIK, so I hope that doctor has a good lawyer.
