Great to hear she's been shooting something again. I almost couldn't believe it when I saw the videos on her Insta, I was convinced she was in LA for acting again. But I couldn't be happier.

Both families consider legal actions against the film now. And to be honest, even though I feel sorry for Toni, I completely understand them.

I understand the grief of the parents, but I do not understand this blatant outrage. The film does not pretend to be straight, it will show everything to the accuracy, but in the doc. films, friends and family talked a lot about relationships and so on. The trial was before the eyes of the whole world.
I do not know, such a PR...hollywood is shaking.

it's the same thing that to sue every horror film, bogged down on real events, which everyone knows only in words.

La top-modèle allemande, incarnation d’une sensualité tonique irrésistible, fête ses dix ans de podiums. Un cap symbolique et une nouvelle ambition : conquérir le cinéma.

 

« J’ai un petit côté secrétaire coquine sur celle-là, non ? » Du haut de son 1,82 m, derrière le moniteur où défilent les photos de notre session exclusive, Toni Garrn commente ses looks d’un œil expert. Puis repart en essayage d’un pas chaloupé au rythme du calypso Day-O, de Harry Belafonte, la bande-son tropicale de ce shooting d’automne. Sa présence solaire réchauffe l’atmosphère. Le sourire mutin, les cheveux en bataille rangée, les pieds nus, Antonia « Toni » Garrn ressemble à une enfant sauvage, d’une beauté énergisante et d’une vitalité captivante. Créer des personnages, chanter, esquisser des chorégraphies, cela relève chez elle d’un besoin inné : exprimer sa créativité autrement qu’en prenant la pose. « On est là pour s’amuser ! On a déjà toutes tellement de chance de faire partie de cette industrie. » Cette beauté blonde à la sensualité tonique, en qui son compatriote Karl Lagerfeld a vu une digne héritière de Claudia Schiffer, n’a que 25 ans et déjà derrière elle une décennie de couvertures prestigieuses, de podiums et de flashs . « J’ai pourtant l’impression d’avoir débuté hier », dit-elle en avalant son troisième café. Le temps file à son rythme TGV (Toni à grande vitesse). Son débit mitraillette trahit la présence de dix idées à la seconde.

 

Hier, c’était donc en 2006, pendant le Mondial de football à Hambourg, sa ville natale, quand Claudia Midolo, de l’agence Modelwerk, repère la jeune sirène aux jambes sans fin. Elle n’avait que 13 ans, et il a fallu convaincre papa, homme d’affaires, et maman, cadre en marketing, que le mannequinat était un métier sérieux. « Je suis la première artiste de la famille ! » annonce-t-elle fièrement. Période d’essai surveillée, essai transformé : managée par maman, Toni passe un an chez Women Management et signe son premier contrat d’exclusivité avec Calvin Klein. Une entrée fracassante dans l’arène fashion internationale : en compagnie de Karlie Kloss, sa « sœur d’armes », elle ouvre et clôt le défilé printemps-été 2008 du créateur américain. Sa capacité de travail est herculéenne : l’année de ses 16 ans, Toni enchaîne une cinquantaine de catwalks. Et elle trouve quand même le temps de décrocher son bac l’année suivante. Les plus grands photographes, de Mario Testino à Steven Meisel ou Jean-Baptiste Mondino, ont depuis sublimé ses pommettes plus hautes que le sommet du Zugspitze et ses lèvres ourlées en fixant leur objectif dans son regard denim stone washed.

 

L’ex-garçon manqué, qui a grandi entre Hambourg, Athènes et Londres (au fil des expatriations paternelles), a plusieurs fois déployé ses ailes sur le podium de Victoria’s Secret, haut lieu de la féminité incarnée. Un rôle bien joué, une consécration en soi, et une étape de plus vers sa nouvelle passion : le cinéma. Comme Charlize Theron, Monica Bellucciou Diane Kruger avant elle, la top a, cette année, sauté le pas. Son idylle de dix-huit mois avec Leonardo DiCaprio, le King of Hollywood, l’a peut-être convaincue de mettre à profit les cours d’acting qu’elle prend depuis cinq ans. « Je détesterais être la "mannequin qui ne sait pas jouer", quand il existe tant d’actrices géniales. » Toni a décroché son premier rôle principal dans Edge of the Blade, où elle incarne la Sud-Africaine Reeva Steenkamp, petite amie et victime de l’athlète Oscar Pistorius. « Adopter son accent a été un vrai challenge. Mais le sujet, la violence envers les femmes, me tenait vraiment à cœur. » On l’a vue aussi dans Berlin, i love you, où elle donne la réplique à Mickey Rourke . « Un maître du jeu "à l’ancienne" ! Je ne me lassais pas de l’observer. »

 

Récemment séparée de Chandler Parsons, basketteur NBA à Dallas, la pile électrique, qui se « soigne par la méditation », concède que son rythme n’est pas propice aux relations durables. Mais elle balaie le sujet, mue par d’autres rêves. « Me poser dans mon appartement de New York, déjà… Je n’y suis pas retournée depuis six mois ! » Et tourner peut-être un jour avec Tarantino, ou interpréter une femme forte, « à la Wonder Woman ». « Avec mon physique, je m’imagine mal jouer "la fille d’à côté". »
