January 26, 200916 yr Nem, you have a point, that cant be deniedit is apparently a requirement for nearly 6 ft tall girls to wear a size 2, or even a size zero but the thing that really got to me was something that i wasnt able to scan it was the teen vogue article where ali talks about her experiences. she says that there were maybe one or 2 models that were naturally that skinny and later mentions that in all her runway experience, there wasnt ONE model she knew that didnt have some type of issue with food. just think about that. NOT ONE girl that didnt have some type of food issue so that means that all the girls we love and worship in the threads, all have an eating disorder to some degree thousands, perhaps millions of girls worship every facet of these models lives, and a huge portion of them are making themselves SICK. is that admirable? i recognize that the girls must meet standards but if the standards mean that they must make themselves sick, lose their periods, have their hair fall out rob their young and growing bodies of the nutrients they need to become physically fit and happy for their future lives----- questions need to be asked of these 'standard makers' this trend of emaciation has only been going on for less than 10 yrs believe me, a 6 ft tall girl who wears a size 6 is pretty freaking skinny. skinny girls look just as gorgeous in haute couture as super skinny, concentration camp looking girls. if all the girls who are killing themselves for fashion were to walk away from the business how many would there be to model?? i bet the modelling population would be cut by 'round 75% if you dont see a problem with that, if you feel that 'thats how the industry works, cest la vie' then more power to ya.but we dont have to sit by the sidelines and let things go on business as usual-we can speak with our money-- money is the language that the industry understands and its the only way to make a change. i see these ridiculous unattainable standards as a way to take power away from women, starting with the young. i wait for the day when slim healthy girls take back the runways and set their own standards-not jump through hoops like little monkeys who are willing to give up the future of their health and happiness. sermon over Hear hear!
March 10, 200916 yr Wow I cannot believe how underrated Ali is here at Bellazon ! She's one of the most beautiful runway models who has great hair, luminous pale skin, stunning face, amazing thick brows, cute pout and the best nose for a female I've ever seen. The model I have on my avatar is Ali. She's probably one of the most chill models out there and a lot has happened for her during last year coming forth about her past struggles in the industry. I love how she talks in a calming way where she is very intelligent when doing her interviews and carefully thinks about what she says plus the music she likes are simply great like Radiohead and Modest Mouse. I'm a little sad that she skipped the FW 09 season but hopefully she'll be back in their campaigns and gain more editorial work since she's getting really popular. Anyways, she's already done a SS 09 campaign for Coach and you can check her out on their site Coach.com.
March 10, 200916 yr i have suspicions that ali is 5'6"............ ...why? she looks at least 5'9" to me... shes great (Y)

I love that she hasn't forsaken her pale skin to take up the orange spray so many models use nowadays. She's truly one of a kind.
March 10, 200916 yr No she's not. Ali is very diverse if you look at all the work she's done considering she is young at 18 but be more sophisticated in photos and runways. She was on the cover of Wallpaper and was nude and look very much older. Even her Vogue Mexico cover shows how more grown up she looks compared to when she started. This is a perfect example in one of her photos in Numero called "Volte Face".
March 13, 200916 yr so a huge campaign by Terry Richardson HQ`s EMPolham s/s 2009 1st part Ali Michael &... by Terry Richardson extracted by me from empolham.com in HQ!
March 14, 200916 yr ^ Thanks so much for posting that! Ali looks really stunning and thank god it's not the typical risqué photoshoot Terry Richardson usually displays in his body of work (then again, his SS 09 campaign for Lacoste was tame too). It's very teenage adolescent but it's very cute and I think Erin also looked very charming. I was browsing around my usual website visits and I look up an article that was recent-ish (?) from Page Six magazine and it shows a a little note about Ali being an admirer of Robert Pattinson ! http://www.nypost.com/pagesixmag/issues/20090208/Six+City Aww I thought that was adorable and if she wants to date him, then go for it! Tid bit, he's in Vancouver Canada for a bit so you better catch him quick or many others will follow suit !
