Interesting take because of all the Mindy talk lately LOL Don't Look Up Made Leonardo DiCaprio a Worse Husband Than The Wolf of Wall Street In The Wolf of Wall Street, Leonardo DiCaprio's performance as Jordan Belfort was despicable, but Don't Look Up makes him an even worse husband. In The Wolf of Wall Street, Leonardo DiCaprio's performance as Jordan Belfort truly was one of the darkest in cinema. While it played off Belfort's real life as a sinister stockbroker, DiCaprio added so many wacky layers to Martin Scorsese's directorial vision that no one could bring themself to like the character. However, as much as Leo was a devilish fiend in that film, Don't Look Up made him an even worse husband. Now, as Jordan, Leo was a terrible excuse for a family man, cheating on his first wife before moving on to Naomi (Margot Robbie). He would also continue to engage in affairs with prostitutes, abuse drugs and even hit his wife on one occasion. But as bad as all that was, in Don't Look Up, his Dr. Mindy is even more terrible because he initially started off as a hero, only to become someone who negatively influenced the world. And the sad part is, rather than chasing millions of dollars or drugs, what drew Mindy to the dark side was the idea of being a celebrity. While Jordan wanted power in terms of money, Mindy just wanted the public to see him as a savior. It's why he abandoned his wife, June, and his two sons when the apocalypse was coming. After initially trying to convince the world a comet was hitting to end all life, he fell into the media charade and grabbed onto being a darling that everyone fawned over. And all this attention led him to begin an affair with the newscaster, Brie. He hated how he had played by the rulebook for so many years, being a good husband and dad, because to him, the apocalypse meant he didn't get his just due. Mindy also saw being a good person as something that deserved recognition, which is why he lost his soul and broke bad. Jordan may have hurt his inner circle with his bad influence, but Mindy took things a step further by pushing the world to hate and give up compassion for the final days. And what made things sting even more was that June helped take care of Mindy when he was sick, and he still kept the charade up with Brie. It was pretty unforgiving because, while Naomi still tried to create a new sense of family and set Jordan straight in The Wolf of Wall Street, Brie was using Mindy for nothing but fun in Don't Look Up. Eventually, Mindy moseyed on back to his wife when his conscience kicked back in, but when he arrived, June admitted she cheated on him in college and kept it secret. So, in the same way Jordan got what was coming to him when he went to jail, Mindy got his punishment, living out the rest of his life knowing his family couldn't stand him. Source

Even though Leo wasn't nominated for DLU as Best Actor he managed to set another record this year what means he will probably break this record next year with KOTFM But since Robert De Niro is also in KOTFM Leo will still one best picture behind him lol Oscars: Stars Who Made History With 2022 Nominations Leonardo DiCaprio Ties Jack Nicholson for Male Actor in Best Picture Nominees Record Leonardo DiCaprio is now just one best picture honor away from tying a male actor record set by Robert De Niro. With Don’t Look Up‘s best picture nomination at the 2022 ceremony, its leading man has gone from being in nine films that received the Oscar’s highest honor for a single title to being just two projects shy of tying current 11-film, record-holder De Niro. Prior to this year, DiCaprio’s nine-nomination record — which included The Aviator, The Revenant, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, The Wolf of Wall Street, Django Unchained, Titanic, Gangs of New York, The Departed and Inception — was shared with Gary Cooper, Spencer Tracy, Tom Hanks and William Holden. With the Adam McKay black comedy, the Don’t Look Up star now has 10 best picture-nominated films under his belt, a record he shares with fellow Oscar-winner Jack Nicholson. Source

^He won because he looked like this... ... and not like this anymore. No offense to Matthew. I actually like him. Didn't win Jack Nicholson for a comedic performance as best actor in 1998? He's always coming to my mind because Leo was snubbed back then for the lesser known ship DRAMA on sea lol Just because he looked super hot even in orange

Anyone saw Being the Ricardos? I've heard nothing but bad things about the movie and Bardems performance. Happy for Andrew 🥰- Leonardo DiCaprio (GENERAL DISCUSSION)
^daugther is a far stretch lol I don't think he ever saw this girl again. Always wondered what she became with Leos support. If things really changed for her, where she is now, if Leo is still in touch with her or think about her from time to time (ok last one got inspired by the pic 😁)...- Leonardo DiCaprio - (Please Read First Post Prior to Posting)

Oscar Futures: Our Last-minute Guess at the Nominees Best Picture Being the Ricardos Belfast CODA Don’t Look Up Dune King Richard Licorice Pizza The Power of the Dog The Tragedy of Macbeth West Side Story Best Director Paul Thomas Anderson, Licorice Pizza Jane Campion, The Power of the Dog Ryûsuke Hamaguchi, Drive My Car Adam McKay, Don’t Look Up Denis Villeneuve, Dune Best Actor Benedict Cumberbatch, The Power of the Dog Leonardo DiCaprio, Don’t Look Up Andrew Garfield, Tick, Tick … Boom! Will Smith, King Richard Denzel Washington, The Tragedy of Macbeth The core four of this race have felt locked since November. Smith and Cumberbatch leaped to the top of the rankings with star turns at Telluride. Washington’s ability to get nominated for films like Roman J. Israel, Esq. made him a popular preseason pick; his ability to make the Bard’s English feel as natural as modern speech sealed it. Garfield came into the season with a lower profile, but he sang and danced his way into a spot once TTB hit streaming. Who joins them? Javier Bardem of Being the Ricardos has SAG on his side, and I’m wary of going against an actor playing a famous showbiz figure from the 20th century. However, DiCaprio’s BAFTA nod has me leaning Leo. The Brits use a multistep jury process that’s meant to spotlight underappreciated performers; the fact that the Hollywood princeling got in anyway suggests he was near the top of the vote tallies. Besides, DiCaprio’s on a decade-long hot streak with the Oscars, and you figure the surging Don’t Look Up is due to show up somewhere in the acting categories. Just posting because damn the 2000s were a pretty great decade for Leo. I mean GONY (where everything started with him and Marty), CMIYC, Aviator, BD, TD, RR plus two of his most underrated movies TB and BOL. The Best Leonardo DiCaprio Movies Of The 2000s, Ranked According To IMDb After gaining worldwide recognition for Titanic, the 2000s are when Leonardo DiCaprio cemented himself as one of the greatest actors in Hollywood. Leonardo DiCaprio is no doubt one of the greatest actors of this generation. While he received worldwide recognition for his role in Titanic, the 2000s saw the acclaimed actor break away from being just known as a teen heartthrob and cement himself as one of the best actors in Hollywood. While it wasn’t until 2016 that he won his first Oscar, the 2000s highlighted DiCaprio’s versatility and incredible range through his bold and diverse roles. It’s no surprise that most of his movies released in the 2000s received high IMDb ratings, and many of these performances will no doubt go down as some of his best. 9/9 Don's Plum (2001) - 5.7 If there’s such a thing, Leonardo DiCaprio's character Derek in Don’s Plum is one of his lesser-known roles. Also starring Tobey Maguire and Kevin Connolly, the low-budget indie film tells the story of a group of 20-somethings who gather at a restaurant called "Don’s Plum" every Saturday night - and that’s about as far as the plot goes. The highly improvised movie was filmed over six days between July 1995 and March 1996, however, wasn’t released theatrically until 2001. Rumors have swirled about the movie over the years, with DiCaprio and Maguire reportedly not wanting it released at all, as reported by The Guardian. Due to its legal implications, the film was banned in the US and Canada (Republic World). 8/9 The Beach (2000) - 6.7 After the unimaginable success of Titanic, there were high expectations for Leonardo DiCaprio’s next film. Unfortunately, The Beach didn’t come close to matching the success of Titanic. In the Danny Boyle drama, DiCaprio stars as a young adventure-seeking traveler named Richard who is in search of a legendary island paradise. The dystopian drama was considered a flop when it came out and severely underwhelmed at the box office. While Leonardo DiCaprio is no doubt one of the greatest actors the world has ever seen, this movie is often forgotten among his success. 7/9 Body Of Lies (2008) - 7.1 The acclaimed Ridley Scott has directed countless classics, so when it came to an action thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russel Crowe with Scott at the helm, it was ensuing to exceed expectations given the talent behind it. Unfortunately, Body of Lies failed to stand out, despite its huge potential. DiCaprio plays Roger Ferris, a CIA agent who is operating in the Middle East trying to capture a radical Islamic terrorist. While it's often overlooked, that’s not to say it isn’t good and is simply one of the great Leonardo DiCaprio movies that many have never heard of. There is plenty of action with a consistently well-paced narrative, with both DiCaprio and Crowe giving convincing performances. 6/9 Revolutionary Road (2008) - 7.3 Eleven years after the release of Titanic, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet reunited onscreen for the first time in the romantic drama, Revolutionary Road. The Titanic pair made for one of the most iconic movie couples of all time, so it’s no surprise that fans were quick to compare Winslet and DiCaprio's onscreen romance in Revolutionary Road. The story follows Frank and April Wheeler, a struggling husband and wife who try and cope with the breakdown of their marriage. The movie received generally positive reviews and while it’s not one of DiCaprio's most notable films, his convincing portrayal of the smooth-talking salesman is up there with his best. 5/9 Gangs Of New York (2002) - 7.5 Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are one of Hollywood’s greatest duos and Gangs of New York is the film that marked their first collaboration together. Set in 1863, DiCaprio plays the Irish catholic Amsterdam Vallon, who plots revenge against the man that murdered his father. Based on Herbert Asbury’s novel of the same name, the film also features Daniel Day-Lewis as a brutal gang leader and Cameron Dias as an Irish immigrant. While the movie received generally positive reviews, many believe that DiCaprio was outshined by the captivating performance of Daniel Day-Lewis, for which he received an Oscar nomination. 4/9 The Aviator (2004) - 7.5 The next collaboration between Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio was The Aviator, and this time, the stakes were raised. DiCaprio took on the titular role of Howard Hughes, a billionaire filmmaker and aviator whom many believe is one of the best main characters in a Scorsese movie, Starring alongside Cate Blanchett and Kate Beckinsale, DiCaprio plays Hughes in the height of his fame, while depicting his deteriorating mental health and severe OCD. DiCaprio’s accurate portrayal of the eccentric tycoon was flawless and earned him his first Oscar nomination since What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. 3/9 Blood Diamond (2006) - 8.0 Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Djimon Hounsou, Blood Diamond follows the story of Rhodesian smuggler and mercenary Danny Archer, who forms an unlikely team with local fisherman Solomon Vandy. Set during the Sierra Leone Civil War, the two embark on a dangerous mission as they hunt to recover a rare diamond. The war thriller received positive reviews and highlighted the brilliant performances of both DiCaprio and Hounsou. To accurately play a Rhodesian-now-Zimbabwean native, DiCaprio had to act with a South African accent, and despite the accent remaining divisive among fans, the role garnered the actor with his third Oscar nomination. 2/9 Catch Me If You Can (2002) - 8.1 Directed by the legendary Steven Spielberg, Catch Me If You Can depicts the story of Frank Abagnale Jr., one of the most successful con men in American history. The brilliant cat and mouse caper stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Frank and Tom Hanks as FBI agent Carl Hanratty, who makes it his mission to capture the young con artist, while also harboring a level of respect for him. The movie perfectly captures DiCaprio's boyish charm and has produced one of his most likable characters to date. Spielberg's genius and seamless direction tells the real-life story in a light-hearted and comical manner, while DiCaprio's performance showcased his incredible range as an actor. 1/9 The Departed (2006) - 8.5 Martin Scorsese remains one of the most talented directors of all time, yet somehow, he had to wait until 2006 to receive his first Oscar. Featuring a star-studded ensemble of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, and Matt Damon, The Departed follows Billy Costigan, a Boston Police trainee who is sent undercover to infiltrate mobster Frank Costello’s crew. The story of good-cop-bad-cop is violent, funny, and most importantly, a warning that no one can be trusted in this dark world of crime. The Scorsese masterpiece is up there with the greatest gangster movies of all time and is living proof of why he will always be king of the gangster genre. ^In 2003 when Leo was at the german tv show "Wetten dass..." he made pretty clear that his priority in life is his career and not starting a family. I know he wasn't even 30 back then and probably thought he has lots of time but I tend to think that this attitude never really changed deep down in his heart - constantly dating women under -well- 30 where a career is mostly in focus kinda confirmed it. And now he is slowly running out of time. At this point you have to consider he would made a pretty "old" father. The older he gets now the less he has time with his children you know what I mean? Beside from this children can be EXHAUSTING. Not saying Leo is an old man who can't handle a family anymore but still that's something you have to want to. I mean in the best possible scenario he would be 80 when his kid is 30 more likely even older especially when he wants more than one child. Maybe at some point he decided he's literally just too late for the party. However I think you're right @BarbieErinthere are multiple reason why he hasn't kids not just one particular like not finding "the one". This is probably the closest we got. Can't help but Cami truly looked how I imagine her pregnant (kinda glowing and soft and even more beautiful than usual). - Leonardo DiCaprio - (Please Read First Post Prior to Posting)
