  4. Also shooting continues still without Leo. Just saying.
  5. More for the PTA/movie nerds but whatever. Michael Bauman is Cinematographer on Paul Thomas Anderson’s New Film It’s been a few weeks since I last wrote about Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film, which is currently shooting in California. I have a brief update. Some of us were wondering who PTA might have hired as cinematographer for this still-untitled film. Well, we just had it confirmed, via a production grid, that Michael Bauman is the DP on this one — if you remember, he also shot “Licorice Pizza.” Before being promoted as DP on “Licorice Pizza,” and this new project, Bauman was originally a chief lighting technician on all of PTA’s films since 2012’s “The Master,” his other notable credits are as a gaffer on major films such as “Vice,” “Munich” “Ray” “Training Day” and “Iron Man.” In 2012, Mihai Mălaimare Jr. took over photography duties for "The Master.” PTA was his own DP on 2017’s “Phantom Thread” and then, as mentioned, Bauman shot 2021’s “Licorice Pizza.” One wishes that a PTA reunion with Robert Elswit can one day occur — their partnership resulted in a historic run of six films, including "Boogie Nights," "Magnolia," "Punch-Drunk Love," and "There Will Be Blood”. However, they seem to have had a falling out of some sorts, at least, according to Elswit. When asked in 2019 whether he could see them collaborating again, Elswit didn’t sound too optimistic. “I don’t know. Probably not. You know, it depends on how he feels. I would do it again…I didn’t enjoy myself on ‘Inherent Vice’…It was a combination of me and Paul just not getting along, and I can be as immature as him.” Elswit went on to describe their working relationship as that of “a bad married couple. Unpleasant.” In a 2020 interview, Elswit also criticized Phantom Thread's cinematography, pointing out Anderson’s use of “haze” and smoke — which he hinted as a very common “amateur” technique. Although Elswit did admit to liking the film, he additionally stated that some of the techniques PTA used on “Phantom Thread” intentionally degraded the image of the film: “if I’d shot that movie I would not be happy with it ending up looking like it looked.”
  6. So OPPENHEIMER won big at the baftas including best movie, director, actor, supporting actor *sigh Emma Stone also won. Not a good sign for Lily. BAFTA: ‘Oppenheimer’ Wins Best Film — It Will Very Likely Win the Oscar
  7. For me JLo can do almost no wrong 😄 I don't like all songs of the album and this overlong music video movie whatever is pretty corny but STUNNING to look at. Also the choreographes?? If I will be able to move like her when I'm 54 I'm grateful lol What a stunning woman

Love her. What an icon 😍
  11. @Pami charisma is highly important I absolutely agree same as "that certain something" or the "it factor" whatever you want to call it. I think the success of Titanic depends on many factors not just Leo. The heart of the movie still is the love story. Take Leo without Kate and their special chemistry/bond and the movie also could have failed. Leo can't tell nor sell a love story on his own. And speaking of the story. There would have been no Jack Dawson for Leo to play without the writing/James Cameron in the first place. And there would have been for sure no Jack Dawson like we know and love the iconic character without the director/James Cameron again putting Leo in his place several times. So among many things circumstances, respect, trust, cooperation, luck, connections, influence and for sure money are also big parts of a successful career.
  12. Great movie
  13. Also to all outraged Austin doubters here lol No doubt Leo is proud of his OUATIH co star.
  14. Someone was listening LOL Also call me wrong but Leo hated it when he became a massive movie star aka the Leo mania. It's also a fact Leo mania happened because of Leos look mainly and not his talent in the first place and don't try to tell me otherwise 😄 He just happened to be talented too and this is why his career survived the Titanic/Jack Dawson phenomen and can stand by his own but also let's not pretend he isn't where he is today because of this role and movie and also his look even now. So this kind of poster boy fame is actually nothing that much desirable for a young actor. I think the only actor who remotely came close to such hype is Robert Pattinson and he was similar unhappy about it. He also managed having a decent post Twilight career. That being said a long-lasting career is never just about talent otherwise people like Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, Tom Cruise and maybe even Brad Pitt wouldn't have one lol However I would die if Paul would be cast in THE WAGER next to Leo.
