He's coming fresh of the highly celebrated show Daisy Jones & The Six so at least we know he isn't just another pretty face (actually I already knew this before).

Jonah Andre Hauer-King (born 30 May 1995) is an English actor. He began acting while studying at St John's College, Cambridge. He is best known for playing Prince Eric in the live-action adaptation of Disney's musical fantasy film The Little Mermaid (2023). He has appeared in the television miniseries Howards End (2017), Little Women (2017), and World on Fire (2019), and in the films The Last Photograph (2017) and A Dog's Way Home (2019). Early life and education Hauer-King was raised in North London, the son of Debra Hauer, an American psychotherapist and former theatre producer originally from Walnut Creek, California, and Jeremy King, a prominent London restaurateur originally from Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset. Hauer-King has dual British-American citizenship and was raised Jewish. His maternal grandparents came to Northern California in 1950; his maternal grandmother was a 3rd generation Jewish Torontonian and his grandfather was a Polish Jew who emigrated from Pacanów to Toronto in 1928 at age 7. Hauer-King attended The Hall School, Eton College and then St John's College, Cambridge, where he graduated with a first class degree in theology and religious studies, juggling acting roles on stage and screen whilst he was there. Career Hauer-King's first feature was a lead role in Danny Huston's The Last Photograph, which received its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. He played Laurie in the 2017 BBC version of Little Women, and starred as Andrius Aras in the film Ashes in the Snow (2018), opposite Bel Powley, Paul Wilcox in Howards End, and as David in Postcards from London (2018). He also starred as Lucas in the film A Dog's Way Home (2019). His other roles include The Song of Names and This Is the Night. His most recent feature was playing Harry Chase in the BBC World War II drama World on Fire (2019). Jonah also portrayed Max Mallowan in the 2019 film Agatha and the Curse of Ishtar. On 12 November 2019, it was announced that Hauer-King would play Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid which was released on 26 May 2023. He has since been cast as the lead character Lale, in Sky's new adaptation of The Tattooist of Auschwitz. Filmography Source

I could go on and on because yeah the germans love to process their dark history you just have to look beside the commercial stuff. As a kid in germany you grow up with the permament memory of this part of our inglorious past. And that's only WWII 😆 I think you also have to distinguish between a motion picture and a documentary. I think motion pictures are mostly either overdrawn or historical changed for the sake of the story/characters, pace and access for the audience. If you want 100% history accuracy you have to watch the movies made during the reign of the German Empire if you have access to them. There are literally tons of it.
