Olympics countdown: Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and Isabeli Fontana’s insider’s guide to Brazil Adriana Lima What do you miss about your country? "Brazil has a very rich culture and the people are so diverse and always happy despite any hardships. That’s a great quality to have. I try to go back a few times a year. Sometimes it gets challenging with work and my seven-year-old daughter’s school schedule, but I always get excited when I have a chance to go back either on vacation or for work." How did your hometown shape you growing up? "Bahia is a very positive, family oriented place that stresses the importance of having good morals and family values. This is what I grew up surrounded by, so I try to bring that with me no matter where life takes me." What are your three travel must-haves? "A great bathing suit, my Jawbone Jambox for music, and a black dress that can be used for day or night," she said. And as far as her must-have beauty product goes, Adriana revealed, "Almond oil, which I use in my hair." While she uses almond oil for her hair, the mom-of-two admitted that when it comes to the secret behind Brazilian beauty she "always" jokes "that it’s in the coconut water!" http://ca.hellomagazine.com/fashion/02016071427950/adriana-lima-alessandra-ambrosio-isabeli-fontana-brazil-tips-olympics/10/

'I hated my butt! Victoria's Secret Angel Elsa Hosk admits she used to HIDE the derriere she now proudly shows off as a lingerie model because she thought it was 'too big' I used to hate my butt — like hate it,' she told Daily Mail Online at the event. 'In school I used to cover it up. I felt like it was too big like I felt like I needed to wear a sweater over it. It was awful.' However, Elsa said that working with Victoria's Secret helped her embrace her derriere, and now it is one of her favorite assets. 'I would never show my butt, and now working with Victoria's Secret it is very celebrated to have curves, so I am now really proud of my butt,' she explained. 'All the members in my family are very gifted in that area. 'Even my brothers, who are really skinny, they have kind of shapely butts and it is really cute. Now I love it. I am proud of it.' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3711071/I-hated-butt-Victoria-s-Secret-Angel-Elsa-Hosk-admits-used-HIDE-derriere-proudly-shows-lingerie-model-thought-big.html

Adriana Lima’s Biggest Wellness Secret The Cut talked to Lima, who is the face of Marc Jacobs’s new Divine Decadence perfume, about her favorite smoothie recipe and how she plans to live to be more than 100 years old. How do you start by practicing wellness in the morning? I wake up around 7 a.m. and I put my sunblock on. I go have my breakfast. I usually like to have an avocado smoothie; it’s good for your skin and hair. In [the smoothie], I put an avocado, whole milk, honey, and lots of ice. It’s something my mom used to make when I was little. Every Brazilian kid, we grew up having smoothies in the morning. My kids love it for breakfast now, too. They call it the Green Monster. What I eat for breakfast changes depending on my mood. Today, I had an omelette with okra and asparagus. I also had a cappuccino, because I’m Brazilian and cannot leave without my coffee. I do coffee with honey, because it stabilizes the sugar levels. I find if I have honey, I don’t crave as much sugar later. After breakfast, I get my kids ready and spritz a little fragrance on. What is your beauty routine like in the morning? After I put on sunblock, I work out. I sweat so I don’t put anything else on my skin. Right now, I’m only using the stuff by my facial guy in Paris — Hervé Hérau. He’s amazing. My best friend introduced him to me. His facials are unbelievable. You can see the results for a few weeks. What I love about him is that a facial from him is not like a menu. You walk in, he looks at your skin and creates a personalized facial for what you need that day. Everybody’s skin is different and changes everyday, sometimes because of the weather. I use his facial cleanser, serum, and light moisturizer. Then I’ll use something heavier for nighttime. What does wellness mean to you? It means that you take care of yourself, starting with being healthy in what you eat. And then it goes to your body and your skin and hair — in that order! After I had my children, I feel more beautiful. I don’t know why that is. I feel more beautiful now. Some people say that they feel more like a woman after having a baby. No. [Laughs.] I have always felt like a woman! It’s not like I did not feel like a woman before. It’s just different stages. I’m happy with this stage where I am now. How do you think practicing wellness has contributed to your career longevity? I want longevity. I want to be over 100 years old, seriously [Laughs]. When I first started out as a model, I knew I had to start young and take care of myself so I could keep my skin, body, as long as I can. So when I was 19, I started looking for an exercise I could do. I wasn’t a big fan of workouts at the time. I knew I had to find something that I loved — that was the only way I could be happy with working out and going to the gym. I tried yoga, dancing, and aerobics. I knew I had to find something I loved, and didn’t find it until I found boxing. That’s the secret. There are so many different types of exercises, you just have to find your passion. I’m still doing boxing for my workout. I try to do it everyday. Sometimes when I travel, I’ll have someone else hold the mitts for me. If not, I can go running, I do burpees, or shadow boxing. Today, I’m running. How do you think your body has changed over time? I think right now, I’m very toned. I like it. I see it especially in my face. I used to have a baby face and now you can see more of my bone structure. I’m more consistent now. I know what I like, and the effects of things, and what not to do. What do you not do? I don’t go out every night partying. It’s so important to have beauty sleep. How do you sleep? [Laughs] I sleep in decadence — I just sleep with two drops of Divine Decadence. http://nymag.com/thecut/swellness/2016/07/adriana-limas-biggest-wellness-secret-tips.html

IWC BRAND AMBASSADOR ADRIANA LIMA BOXES WITH LAUREUS KIDS IN BRAZIL Rio de Janeiro/Schaffhausen, 25 July 2016 – Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima took part in sparring sessions with children and adolescents in a local boxing gym during a visit to Rio de Janeiro this month. The IWC brand ambassador’s sparring partners participate in the “Fight for Peace” (“Luta pela Paz”) project of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, which the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer has actively supported since 2005. The project combines sport with education to help inspire young people. While on location in Rio de Janeiro shooting the boxing-inspired Brazilian Vogue August cover story, IWC brand ambassador Adriana Lima took time to meet with local children from the Laureus-supported “Fight for Peace” project in a local boxing gym. Featuring a braided hairstyle, black sweatpants and boxing gloves in red for one session, silver for the other, the Brazilian supermodel sparred with adolescents and their trainer as the younger children watched in awe. “I feel very honoured to have the chance to be in the ring and share my passion for boxing with these children. This project improves their self-esteem and shows them how much they’re worth and how much they’re capable of. It’s a beautiful thing”, said Lima, who has been boxing as part of her personal fitness regime for over 10 years. GLOVES AGAINST CRIME “Fight for Peace” combines boxing and martial arts with education and personal development to help disadvantaged young people realize their potential. The children and teenagers participating in the sparring session come from extremely poor backgrounds. Many of them live in favelas which are affected by a decade of territorial drug wars and where armed adolescents patrol the streets. Roberto Custodio, a “Fight for Peace” participant, has benefited from the work of the project in helping provide direction in his life. “Sport transforms, teaches us many things that only sport can teach to make our life more complete, like determination, resilience, companionship, care and humility,” said the Laureus “Real Hero”. “For me, ‘Fight for Peace’ is a family.” The success has already become palpable: recent results show that children who participate in the project are 68% less likely to commit a crime or carry a weapon. Andrea Schellmoser, Marketing & Communications Director for IWC Latin America, who attended the visit and sparring session, added: “I am honoured to see that our Brand Ambassador Adriana Lima is spending her valuable time visiting this remarkable Laureus project in her home country. She wholeheartedly embraces and lives IWC’s brand values such as commitment to social responsibility.” http://www.iwc.com/en/news/gloves-against-crime/
