Where the hell is Irina???

VS is phasing Adriana out, I believe. They're aware that they have to move on and capitalise on the new IT girls. There's no other reason that they would push her to the side like this. Regardless, I don't understand why her stomach so covered? It is not flattering for Adriana. There's no justification for the fact that Bella looks like she's the one who has been there for over 15 years. She should have a better outfit. Mess.

I've been following Irina for so many years now, I remember at one point (yeaaaars ago) she was posting sad posts on IG and people on here were saying it may have been related to VS rejecting her? Irina would have taken VS to new heights if they took her on years ago IMO. She's 30+; they should have hired her when she was much younger. Not that she's any less beautiful, not at all, there have just been so many wasted years!!! I imagine her Intimissimi contract was an issue at the time? I think she wasn't taken on because she was pretty much unknown. I'm very happy for Irina, she's worked very hard and deserves this. So good to see.

She looks beautiful as usual. I just don't like the unflattering cut of the outfit as it emphasises her wider waist. The shoes are office like- I wish she'd have chosen a dark burgundy pair to match the collar. Not really understanding why she wore the bag with the chain either, I think holding it as clutch would have been more appropriate (as she did later on). It's an improvement though.

If this were a male model of Adriana's status and level posting such an image at the later stages of his career after having NEVER posted such a thing before- I would react in the exact same way. You're projecting your own views onto me. I am looking at this from the perspective of her public image and the reason why Adriana is so alluring to the general public. She's decided to post a suggestive image for some reason or other. It may be innocent in it's intent (which I believe) but that is not what matters. What matters if the EFFECT it has on her image. Not to us (the people who follow her career closely and KNOW her)- but to the general public who follow her on IG only because they find her alluring and admirable because of her beauty, modesty and down to earth nature. Adriana is a rare blend of these qualities among the countless attention seeking half/nude model selfies all over IG. She is not at Irina's level and so does not need to lower herself in this way. And by "lower"- I mean seek attention. Not that posting this image in itself is degrading. The act of doing so is, the actual image is not problematic IMO. She looks amazing. She just didn't need to post it. Her hesitant caption tells you everything you need to know.

I didn't call Adriana herself "cheap", I said that I think that this suggestive post shower selfie has cheapened her due to its cheapening effect on her image. I also called the post "degrading" and "desperate". I would say the exact same thing if this were an established, well recognised, and well respected male model of Adriana's status and level- who had never posted such a thing- but for some reason chose to do so at the late stages of their career. I would have reacted in the same way if I were actually following the career of such a man. You're looking at this all through a Tumblr lens. Sure, she has every right to post this image, sure. It's her body. She looks amazing as we all know she does. However, the reality is that this was not a good move by Adriana. A great part of her allure has always been her modesty, at least for the general public, who do not follow her high fashion work as closely or as long as we all have.

It's her IG, she can do whatever she wants with it. This is a public forum within which we share our thoughts (positive or negative) about a model's work/posts, I can share my view whatever it is. I have been a fan of Adriana's for years and years- but just because she is my favourite model that doesn't mean I have a duty to agree with everything she does without a second thought. Like it or not, a number of people have responded in the same way as I have. Adriana felt a need to post a suggestive post shower selfie on IG. I disagree with her for doing so. A large part of Adriana's appeal is her modesty outside of her work- she has chosen to sell herself on this image by discussing it in the past. It is a major reason why the general public appreciate her and hold her in such high esteem. There was a reason why she never did this before. Her caption was hesitant. She is too elite and established for this kind of desperate post. It's something I would expect from Irina. That's my opinion on this issue.

lol I'm OK with that. I'm a huge supporter of Adriana and Irina but I always say it how it is. She is the Adriana Lima. This was not a good move on Adriana's part. A post shower selfie is degrading for a woman of her status/career/age.

The reality is that Adriana is too damn established to be posting such things... in addition, she's a mother of two. Her VS work is sexy enough. I understand that she may have felt the need to remind people that she's "sexy" but she doesn't need to do this. WE KNOW. She's ADRIANA LIMA. I think the IG post has cheapened her. I'd expect this kind of mess from Irina. Not Adriana.

People are going off in her IG comments. I don't understand why she chose to wear eyeliner or mascara in the picture... Just post a workout photo and show them how beautiful you are, Adri. I wonder where all the feminism has gone though. Does it only apply for women who look like Lena Dunham? Adriana is confident and beautiful (I feel bad for her having seen that stupid IG post- I saw it on Tumblr- and it's ridiculous!!!)

I think it's all wrong. The dress ages her so much. I hate the shoes. I also don't understand why they gave her a red lip... What's the point of spending so much time in the gym when you dress like someone with an out of shape body to hide?

Adriana is a very kind hearted person. She was obviously just irritated by the question asked about her body because of how the dressed looked on her. I doubt she would have worn it if she had any other choice; or perhaps she didn't wish to offend or send someone out (if even available at the time) to buy a new dress. Even models don't tend to wear gowns straight off the rack- you can't tailor at the last minute and it would have been a waste of time, money, and effort. Who knows if the VS dress was delivered to her late? Because of her relationship with the brand it's likely that she would have trusted them to deliver a flattering dress to her regardless. Imagine being forced to wear an ill fitting gown to an important event because of a situation such as that. There may have been no time for her to find another dress because of VS. She would have every right to be pissed off, right?

People on IG are such assholes to Adri. English is not her first language and the most irritating thing is that she actually does speak it incredibly well; she just spells words incorrectly online- rarely. I don't understand why people feel the need to pretend that her errors are funny or a sign of stupidity? I'm sure none of them would be able to master her own language as she has theirs. Ugh.

PLUS I cannot get over how amazing Adriana looks at ALL the events she been to. So beautiful.

I love Adriana's gym pics. It makes her relatable and IMO much more respectable than other models. She shows how hard it is to have a figure like hers and I think that's very admirable- particularly because she doesn't look at her absolute best when sweating. Her gym pictures are still perfection to me but for a model to show herself without makeup and a red, sweaty face is a very honest thing to do.
