Interview for French Me, March 23, 2015; [she's 23 btw] Don't go by appearances. This angel face and name actually hide Gabrielle Caunesil, a model you might have already met almost naked. Gabrielle, 23, is represented by the prestigious Elite agency and is one of the major faces of the online shop Asos. The young lookalike of Natalie Portman is a go-getter, driven by her dreams. Passionate and passionating, Gabrielle is a multifaceted woman: She is not only a model but also a blogger (www.leboudoirdegabrielle.net) , an actress, and a dancer. I told you, Gabrielle is a godsend. How did you become a model? I became a model by chance actually. I was scouted by an agent while I was working in a Parisian restaurant to afford me a summer trip. He advised me to meet several agencies, and then I chose the one I trust the most. That was really easy ! Have you always wanted to do that job? No, I didn't even think about it honestly. I never dreamt to be a doll or a princess. When I was young, I wanted to be an archeologist and later I wanted to save the planet. I was not meant to be a model, and I didn't do anything to make it happen. What are the particularities of a lingerie model? I am always naked ! (laugh). I am a photograph model, that's my particularity actually. That's true I do a lot of lingerie, but I also do many other things as long as a project interests me. However, I don't walk the runway, my job is only about being photographed. Are you aware of your beauty ? Or do you have complexes just as most of women? You know, to begin with I don't see myself as I am seen in my job. I think I have hang-up, just like everyone...I mean, when I wake up and I see myself brushing my teeth, I don't think "Waow, what a hottie !", far from it ! (laugh) What is your beauty routine ? I moisturize my skin twice a day -morning and night- and I clean my face every night with a neutral PH soap. How do you keep in shape ? Genetics is magic ! As I always say I was simply lucky my parents gave me their good genes. I don't have any particular routine for now. How would you define your style ? Who are your fashion icons ? Less is more. I mainly wear black, in particular in winter. I love Parisian elegance, being natural...and most of all Jane Birkin's style ! You have just moved to London ? Don't you miss Paris ? Not at all ! London is a very rich and dynamic town. You can meet people from all over the world here, and I love to be a foreigner, and to have a different mother tongue ! How would you define French style ? What distinguishes it from British style for instance? The British are crazy ! They are creative, anything is possible for them, they have no limit. In the tube for example, you can meet many girls with pink, blue, violet hair, and nobody cares ! This is totally common in here ! In France, when you do so you are seen as a junkie or marginal. As a lingerie model, you must know a lot about seduction ! Do you have any tips to share with us ? I have seen a lot of underwear indeed, and if I had a tip to give it would be to keep it simple. Simple cuts, black lace, suspenders for special occasions...To me this is the best kit to be seductive ! Finally, what can I wish you for this year ? To be successful in my projects, to become a Victoria's Secret Angel and to shoot with both Woody Allen and Xavier Dorlan ! That would be amazing !
