Steve Hansen has been confirmed as the new head coach of the All Blacks after serving eight years as an assistant coach of the world's most successful rugby side. Hansen was widely tipped to get the prestigious role when former head coach Graham Henry stepped down after steering the top-ranked All Blacks to victory in the World Cup on home soil two months ago. "From a coaching point of view in this sport it's the greatest honour you can receive. It comes with a huge amount of responsibility," Hansen said when his appointment was announced. With the All Blacks the newly crowned world champions, and no team having won successive World Cups, Hansen said he relished the challenge ahead and stepping out of Henry's shadow. "You look at the Rugby World Cup history and teams have struggled slightly afterwards, but that makes the challenge even more exciting," he told a media conference. "As Ali said to George Foreman around round seven of rope-a-dope, 'It's not a good time to get tired George,' so we can't afford to either. "We've got to put a full stop on what we've achieved, and it's a magnificent thing what we have achieved, but this is a new team, a new group of people and we have to make our own history," he added. Hansen, a 52-year-old former policeman has signed a two-year deal and his coaching staff will be named next week. He said he would have only one assistant coach and a panel of specialist coaches. The previous three-man coaching team was in place for eight years, but as well as Henry stepping down backs coach Wayne Smith has also moved on and taken up a role with the Chiefs. New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) chairman Mike Eagle said Hansen was the best possible candidate for the job. "I want to congratulate him on his appointment. He is an outstanding coach and has been a key part of a hugely successful All Blacks team since becoming an assistant coach in 2004. "He has huge respect and backing from the team and his peers and is the right man to now lead the team," he said. Eagle said having a World Cup-winning coach involved in leading the team forward was a major advantage and allowed for a seamless transition. Hansen said he was both excited and honoured to be chosen to succeed Henry. "I have huge pride in New Zealand rugby and I'm passionate about the All Blacks and New Zealand," he said. "I feel humbled and proud to be given the opportunity to lead the team into its next phase. My aim will be to leave the team in a better shape than how I found it and to enhance its legacy." The All Blacks are one of the most successful teams in world sport and have enjoyed an 85 per cent winning record since Hansen joined Henry and Smith in the coaching set-up in 2004. England scrum-half Danny Care has been fined an undisclosed amount by Harlequins following his arrest for being drunk and disorderly. The 24-year-old was arrested at 3am on Saturday in Weybridge following Harlequins' 21-10 Heineken Cup defeat by Toulouse. The England scrum-half was released without charge and he paid a fixed penalty fine. The Rugby Football Union have taken no disciplinary action but Care has accepted a fine from Harlequins for breaking the club's code of conduct. Care's fine will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust unit at University College Hospital in London. Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea said: "We have a crucial Heineken Cup match at the weekend in Toulouse, so it was important we acted quickly. "We take it very seriously. However, from the club's point of view a line will be drawn under the incident and we will get on with our preparation for the match. "Danny has apologised to his team and understands fully what is expected of him." Care was reprimanded by England's interim head coach Stuart Lancaster, who he has known since his days in the Leeds academy, but no formal action was taken by the RFU. "It was a silly thing to do - I accept that and apologise completely," Care said. "We had just played a tough game and I was out with some of the team and friends but should have remembered that, as a professional player, I am on duty throughout the season and need to set a better example to the fans. "I totally accept the police and club fines." Eurosport- International Rugby Players

I agree with you, he is really in love with Sara. And I love the this couple! He is very much in love but his stupid in love, I don't understand him he seems to be feeding the press more and more on things he should keep to himself. He puts his relation out there for all to talk about and comment on good or bad and then he wants to act like his pissed with the paparazzi's when they take photos of him/his girlfriend. I think famous people who use the social networks should not complain about the press when they fuel interest in their private lives and he does it a lot and then bitches about it. You can't have your cake and eat it too Iker <_< Idk there is a difference if the paparazzi uses pictures or stuff from his facebook than having someone standing outside of your house and having someone take pictures off you. The same you going out to eat. He's being a normal 30 year old, and there is loads of other footballers that use twitter or facebook as much as Iker does and they don't get as followed or harassed as Iker and Sara does. There is a huge difference yes but if you know your relationship is the talk of Spain all the time and a lot people(the media/paps) want to make money out of your relationship the last thing you do is keep putting it out there. If he wants to dedicate a song to Sara or say to her you were really cute when you were younger with your sister she's right there!? Tell her . Facebook is just not the place but that's his choice and he needs to either stop putting his personal stuff out there or put up and shut up. Yes there are a lot of players who use the social networks but they are not Iker Casillas playing for one of the richest and biggest clubs in world football, European and World football champion. His put his relationship out there from the moment he kissed her on tv for the world to see and he has to deal with it. She did nothing wrong just her job but he mixed professional and personal he gave the media/press what they wanted.- Sara Carbonero

World Cup-winning England fly-half Jonny Wilkinson has announced his retirement from international rugby with immediate effect. The 32-year-old veteran of 91 caps for his country as well as six Test appearances for the British and Irish Lions confirmed his decision on his own website on Monday. Wilko, whose drop-goal secured victory against Australia in the 2003 World Cup Final, will continue playing for French club Toulon in the Top 14. The decision does not come as a surprised as the RFU have long made it clear that they intent to enforce a policy of not selecting foreign-based players. Wilkinson leaves Test rugby as the second highest points scorer of all time behind the All Blacks' Dan Carter. "I would like to take this opportunity to announce my retirement from international rugby," Wilkinson wrote on his website. "To do so fills me with great sadness, but I know I have been blessed in so many ways to have experienced what I have with the England rugby team. "I never ever believed that I would be able to give up on this dream which has driven me to live, breathe, love and embrace the game of rugby from the earliest days that I can remember. "I certainly have no intention of letting this decision change the way that I approach my training and preparation for games. In fact early indication shows me that I'm actually getting more intense about it. Playing the game, representing the team, giving my all and never letting go has meant everything to me. "The time has come, however, for me to realise that I have gone as far as I can go with this England team and that the time is right for others to enjoy the same honour and pride that I have felt over the past 15 seasons and beyond. "To say I have played through four World Cups, two Lions tours, 91 international games and a ridiculous number of injuries and other setbacks gives me an incredibly special feeling of fulfilment. But by now I know myself well enough to know that I will never truly be satisfied. "It goes without saying that I would like to wish Stuart Lancaster, his coaches and the England squad every bit of success available to them. "I would also very much like to extend those wishes to Martin Johnson, Brian Smith, Mike Ford, John Wells, Graham Rowntree and the rest of the England 2011 World Cup management team who have been fantastic and deserve people to know that. "For me now, I will continue to focus ever harder on my goal of being the very best I can be with Toulon Rugby Club and continue to embrace and enjoy wherever that path takes me." England Head Coach Stuart Lancaster said Wilkinson would be remembered as "a model sportsman - down to earth and hard working, who has never stopped trying to be the best that he can." "Everyone who has played with, coached and watched Jonny play should feel privileged to have had an involvement with him," added Lancaster. Not only has he been a world class player but he has inspired thousands to play and watch the game of rugby. "He will continue to do great things with Toulon and I would like to go and see him in France to learn from his vast knowledge and experience of 13 years at the very top of the international game." PR ... I've never been an England fan but Jonny Wilkinson I like a lot an exemplary sportsman for English rugby on and off the field. - International Rugby Players
