  1. Three more matches are now live and open for voting!! Voting for these matches is open until 10:30pm US Eastern Time on October 18. Use the link under each matchup to vote, which will literally take about a second to do. Please vote only once, since duplicate votes do not count. More information about the tournament, including standings, brackets, results, and all matches can be found Group 73, Match 1: Yasmeen Ghauri vs. Kate James Vote: Group 32, Match 1: Cheryl Tiegs vs. Paula Warner Vote:
  2. Today’s results are in! Group Stage Group 16: (16) Cintia Dicker (84.3%) defeated Cynthia Korman (15.7%) Group 9: (9) Heidi Klum (66.8%) defeated Barbara Minty (33.2%) Group 7: (7) Kathy Ireland (100.0%) defeated Anna Getaneh (0.0%) Group 58: Eva Herzigova and Irina Gerasimenko drew (50.0% each) Group 79: Shirley Mallmann (58.9%) defeated Jocelyn Javits (41.1%) Group 1: (1) Bar Refaeli (92.7%) defeated Jane Gill (7.3%) My spin: Lots to talk about here! Let’s start with the shocker: Eva Herzigova needed a late rally to draw with Irina Gerasimenko. Or is it a shocker? Reference my tournament preview post: “Watch out for Irina, who may get more support than you’d imagine.” Yup, I called that. All is not lost for Eva, as she can still advance to the Knockout Stage with a convincing win over rookie Robyn Lawley. But, then again, Irina is in the exact same boat! The other winners were not surprises, but some of the margins of victory were. Shirley Mallmann had a tough time with 1980 one-timer Jocelyn Javits. Heidi Klum, the 9th ranked model, didn’t completely dominate Barbara Minty. The #7 seed, Kathy Ireland, certainly dominated, though, coming up with a clean sheet against Anna Getaneh. Finally, I’ll leave you with this note: over 7% of the voters liked a sweater-clad Jane Gill over #1 Bar Refaeli. Are there some Bar haters out there? Current Group Stage Standings/Tables: here

  5. Today’s results are in! Group Stage Group 3: (3) Elle Macpherson (100.0%) defeated Kathy Loghry (0.0%) Group 70: Amber Smith (85.8%) defeated Sunny Bippus (14.2%) Group 44: Yesica Toscanini (79.1%) defeated Andrea Orme (20.9%) Group 65: Lily Aldridge (66.8%) defeated Naomi Campbell (33.2%) Group 75: Melissa Keller and Mallory Snyder (50.0% each) drew Group 30: Esti Ginzburg (91.4%) defeated Jenny Brunt (8.6%) My spin: Today’s results saw the two extremes: a clean sheet by Elle Macpherson and a draw between Melissa Keller and Mallory Snyder. First, I’ll make note of Elle’s blanking of Kathy Loghry. Poor Kathy never stood a chance against Elle’s see-through swimsuit. Meanwhile, the matchup of Melissa vs. Mallory was the most even so far in terms of ranking, as the #106 and #119 models faced each other. That manifested itself in a draw, so the door is open for Ana Beatriz Barros, their group mate, to capitalize. Other matches went as expected, with especially impressive performances by Esti Ginzburg and Yesica Toscanini. Current Group Stage Standings/Tables: here

  7. I had to catch up from yesterday, so here’s another batch of six matches! Many SI titans are in this batch, including Bar Refaeli, Heidi Klum, and Kathy Ireland. But, I think there are some potential upsets in here, too! Voting for these matches is open until 10:30pm US Eastern Time on October 14. Use the link under each matchup to vote, which will literally take about a second to do. Please vote only once, since duplicate votes do not count. 8. Today’s results are in! Group Stage Group 15: (15) Kate Upton (69.3%) defeated Charissa Craig (30.7%) Group 62: Selita Ebanks (76.6%) defeated Monique Moura de Carvalho (23.4%) Group 36: Kelly Emberg (61.2%) defeated Lena Kansbod (38.8%) Group 47: Kim Alexis (73.4%) defeated Jamee Becker (26.6%) Group 59: Angela Lindvall (72.3%) defeated Kim Lemanton (27.7%) Group 69: Bregje Heinen (79.3%) defeated Brandi Quinones (20.7%) My spin: I had to double up the results today, since I didn’t have a chance to report yesterday’s three winners. There were no surprises in the results, but I do find it interesting how many Kate Upton detractors there seem to be out there. Kate didn’t manage 70% of the vote against Charissa Craig, who is ranked #226. Current Group Stage Standings/Tables: here
  9. Because I missed yesterday’s matches, it’s double the fun today. There are some interestng ones in here, especially perhaps Lily Aldridge vs. old school supermodel Naomi Campbell. Voting for these matches is open until 10:30pm US Eastern Time on October 12. Use the link under each matchup to vote, which will literally take about a second to do. Please vote only once, since duplicate votes do not count. More information about the tournament, including standings, brackets, results, and all matches can be found here. Thanks for voting, and check back tomorrow for new matches! ------- Group 3, Match 1: Elle Macpherson vs. Kathy Loghry Vote: Group 70, Match 1: Amber Smith vs. Sunny Bippus Vote: Group 44, Match 1: Yesica Toscanini vs. Andrea Orme Vote: Group 65, Match 1: Lily Aldridge vs. Naomi Campbell Vote: Group 75, Match 1: Melissa Keller vs. Mallory Snyder Vote: Group 30, Match 1: Esti Ginzburg vs. Jenny Brunt Vote:
  10. Today’s results are in! Group Stage Group 56: Isabeli Fontana (77.4%) defeated Damaris Lewis (22.6%) Group 39: Dominique Piek (88.3%) defeated Samantha Jones (11.7%) Group 77: Fernanda Tavares (71.5%) defeated Babette March (28.5%) My spin: No surprises in the final results today, but there was a mild surprise in vote percentage. Personally, I’m shocked that Dominique Piek didn’t get more of the vote against Samantha Jones. After all, Samantha’s only SI Swimsuit photo was of her fully covered in a raincoat! So, nearly 12% of voters must be from London or Seattle. Current Group Stage Standings/Tables: here Note: I'm a bit behind on posting the new matches for today. I'll get to them later today, or I'll just double up on the posted matches for tomorrow!

  14. Today’s results are in! Group Stage Group 31: Jessica Gomes (78.7%) defeated Manon Von Gerkan (21.3%) Group 53: Ana Paula Lemes (54.7%) defeated Janelle Fishman (45.3%) Group 66: Marloes Horst (70.9%) defeated Maggie Smith (29.1%) My spin: I had Ana Paula Lemes as the long shot chandidate in Group 53, but she finds herself one win away from a group title after knocking off Janelle Fishman. Ana Paula will need to beat rookie Ashley Smith to claim first place in the group. Jessica Gomes easily beat a personal crush of mine, Manon Von Gerkan. Sadly, Manon now has one foot out the tournament exit door. Current Group Stage Standings/Tables: here

Gail was ranked #238 coming in, which is third worst amongst all models in the tournament. So, Paulina’s clean sheet is not too surprising. Current Group Stage Standings/Tables: here

But, certainly notable is Hannah Ferguson’s performance knocking off Navia Nguyen and getting the highest vote percentage so far in the 2015 tournament. Current Group Stage Standings/Tables: here

  20. Today’s results are in! Group Stage Group 64: Gigi Hadid (74.0%) defeated Caprice Bourret (26.0%) Group 29: Elsa Benitez (56.1%) defeated May Andersen (43.9%) Group 51: Monica Bellucci (60.8%) defeated Bridget Hall (39.2%) My spin: Three interesting matches! Gigi Hadid got about 3/4 of the vote against a decent challenger, so that was impressive. Incidentally, her recent Twitter post addressing the people criticising her “non runway” body type made me a fan of hers despite not caring much for her up until then. Elsa Benitez and May Andersen were quite close the whole way, but in the end Elsa prevailed. That was a tough draw for May, who was 4-2 with an average vote percentage over 60% coming into the match. Given that Elsa’s remaining opponent is the overmatched 1960s model Mary Sturdevant, May’s fate as a Group Stage victim is likely sealed. Monica Bellucci pulled off an upset, of sorts. Her ranking is 124 compared to Bridget Hall’s 74, but my pre-tournament odds gave them the same chance at winning their group. Both still need to face group favorite Valeria Mazza, so it’s still possible for Bridget to make a comeback with a convincing win over Valeria. Current Group Stage Standings/Tables: here

  24. Today’s results are in! Group Stage Group 80: Veronica Blume (66.8%) defeated Audrey Quock (33.2%) Group 71: Carla Campbell (53.4%) defeated Rachel Roberts (46.6%) Group 38: Ashley Richardson (72.3%) defeated Jean Pelton (27.7%) My spin: This was an interesting set of matches. I thought the match between Veronica Blume and Audrey Quock would be close, but it ended up being a pretty one-sided affair. We have our first upset of the 2015 tournament, as Carla Campbell and her amazing boobs elicited more of a response from voters than Rachel Roberts did. Finally, Ashley Richardson rolled, as expected. Current Group Stage Standings/Tables: here
