This is around the time where the VSFS went form having women to having girls. This has nothing to do with the actual ages of the models and more with their (body) type. In general they have gone towards the more petite frames. It's not just Gisele, they have also lost KK, Tyra, Naomi, Heidi, ... since that time. Was there even a single woman like that (other than maybe Hilary Rhoda) on this year's show? I'd call Joan womanly too? And Isabeli. Not to start anything, but Gisele didn't have curves her body is straight and she's as slim as Magdalena Plus the show has always been dominant by skinny girls. They just had maturity in their faces. Noami, Heidi, Claudia were curvy but most of the girls were skinny.

If the titles she's won are anything to by, she is indeed the hottest to a lot of people. I think that's exactly why she's successful. You don't see her doing events and fashion week for exposure. She beats the other girls because of her heartbreaking beauty and sex appeal. Most --if not all-- of her projects are sexy for a reason

Cherry and Siemgi your last posts tell the truth. I have to say though, I think what people mean when talking about Candice's effect not being the same as Adriana has nothing to do with popularity or such. I think her and Adriana are two of the most beautiful models in the world but Candice compared to the angels pre 2007, Candice lacks presence, she's dull, her personality is nothing special, she doesn't have the wow factor. The girls back in the day were the whole package, they were glamorous, gorgeous, tall, had presence. They were what people thought of when you talk about supermodels. Candice is just...lacking I don't think it's about how long you've been an angel. Ale has been one almost as long as Adriana so...

Siemgi LMAO. But seriously... Cherry no one said people only buy the the products their favorites sell. Just that they might consider it more than the ones the others are selling. If I was a female and I had to buy a VS product, I'd first look at the ones Adriana and Candice are selling no doubt. I remember last year when my step sis called me to smell some VS perfumes and tell her which one I liked better so she could take that. The perfumes were from last year's summer campaign. You know, the one Candice, Adriana and Erin in Malibu was it? I chose the one Adriana recommended even before I smelled it. But it did turn out to be the one that smelled best to me I have to say lol. And why do you guys think Justin Bieber or Beyonce perfumes sell like hot cakes? I highly doubt it's because they are the best perfumes in the world. It's because they have a huge fanbase that would buy anything they sell. They're not fans for nothing, VS won't use Adriana (in her 30s when they could be promoting the newer girls more) as much as it does if her fans don't buy the products she sells. They're not using her for only events as she's still the the catalogs and commercials If she wasn't doing a better job than the rest, why keep her around? Why use her so much? And I don't think Candice has the same effect as Adriana, not by a long shot.

yea we're gonna have to agree to disagree. I think VS costumers are more familiar with the angels' names/faces than other people. It's VS customers that go to their photo ops (which means sales), and I hear Adriana gets those events full. I actually think that's why she does more events than the other girls. Ed basically said Gisele was a money making machine. And they made Marisa (who's more known by the public the some of the girls) an angel the following year Gisele left, right? Plus they held on to Heidi for the longest time. I read many many comments online where people said they lost interest in VS when Gisele left, or Heidi. At least when Gisele left, there was Hedi, Ale, Adriana. And when Heidi left there's Adriana, Ale, Miranda. Not saying they'll go bankrupt without them, but they must be doing something extremely right for all those millions to go in their pockets.

Yea yea. Part of what makes the brand a standout is the angels though. So if people don't care for them anymore, don't you think it would diminish the prominence of the brand? Some people who are only VS fans because of the angels and buy the products their faves are selling might lose interest once that particular angel leaves And if they stop getting those people's money, that's a loss no matter how little. There's a reason they're paying them millions. There's a reason they want Candice's name to be on everyone's tongue

I highly doubt things will go downhill in the business sense. But I do think people won't take the angels seriously. Plus, she was barely gone this year. I mean she did a video for them even while pregnant

Didn't want to believe, because I didn't think people take this list seriously enough to have them manipulate it, but it might be true. I mean, I gave Chanel a free pass because of the exposure she had campaigning for Obama and her Usher music video. But Freja? No. And I'm sure I'll find a lot of questionable ones if I read the full list. lol
