Lancôme Goes Eco-Chic In celebration of the new Primordiale Cell Defense™, a serum that protects your skin against environmental aggressors, Lancôme has launched several eco-chic initiatives in conjunction with Carbonfund.org. This not-for-profit organization educates the public about climate change and offers simple options to help individuals and organizations “offset” their climate impact. Carbonfund.org does this by investing in reforestation, energy efficiency and energy conservation projects. Through Carbonfund.org, Lancôme has offset the environmental impact of all the travel done by its spokesmodels: Selena Breed, Shalom Harlow, Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, Inès Sastre and Daria Werbowy. The brand also has planted 10,000 trees in the United States and the four Lancôme boutiques went “carbon free” starting on Earth Day 2007 in an effort to be better neighbors. At Lancôme headquarters in New York, a number of recycling and energy-saving initiatives are underway. To celebrate the partnership with Carbonfund.org, Lancôme and the emerging design duo Rag & Bone have teamed up to create the summer’s smartest t-shirt. This light-weight, limited-edition Carbon Free tee is made in North Carolina of 100 percent organic cotton and comes in two colors: Cloud and Carbon. Only 150 of these t-shirts will be available.
