I wouldn't like it when VS started to hire only models with a body like Laetitia's. You know, Laetitia's body is awesome, but if they only hired models like her, it would be the same difference. They would just create another ideal of beauty, e.g. that the perfect woman must have big boobs. Therefore it would be better if VS hired models with different body types. I'd like to see girls like Karlie to be admired as well as girls like Kate. That would be real progress imho.

I think society creates this problem itself. Sure VS promotes a certain body type, but I think that their influence isn't as big as those protesters make it. If you're a healthy human being with a halfway decent self-esteem, then you won't be influenced by VS in that way. Like scientists found out that the reason for anorexia lies within a damaged family structure causing the feeling of inferiority. I also don't know anyone who really tries to be like the women on TV. I just know people who complain about this body image and who wanna give those models a burger/sandwich... In fact, people are way more open about different body types and "flaws" than this whole "anti-skinny models movement" claims it to be. E.g. there is this TV programme on Danish TV where men make comments about a nude woman in front of them. This TV programme is highly praised because it shows that men in fact don't expect a woman to look like a model, but they appreciate a real woman's body the way it is and they even adored a woman's butt with cellulite. Or just make the selftest: ask your friends, colleagues and aquaintances how they feel about "flaws" or ask them if you should lose weight. I bet most of them will answer that flaws make us beautiful and that you don't have to lose weight, because you're body already looks good. Don't get me wrong: I'm well aware that there is a problem - but I think it's not as huge as protesters make it. Otherwise, Kate Upton wouldn't have been voted the hottest body of the year by GQ.

Why is it that everytime you mention something unpleasant, people think you're going ape shit in front of your PC? Thats just what happens When someone is highly favored. For example, beyonce fans. Yeah, in the modeling industry Adriana fans are the only ones like that. But its just like in the music industry(for women) beyonce fans are the only ones like that. This happens when someone is extremely liked and behind it there are many reasons that make fans react that way. Well for me I know it is. Not trying to make an excuse but just to inform that it happens not just with Adriana but anyone who alot of people think highly of. There's always a reason for it though, well again for me it is. It's not only the case with this event...it's the status quo of this whole thread. I mean, you can't even talk about how young Adriana looks without elaborating on how shitty all the other models will look in 10 years. This phenomenon among Adriana fans merely reaches its peak when there's an event with other models.
