Claudia Schiffer Ad Banned in Copenhagen
The HM fashion advertisement poster featuring a semi-nude German supermodel Claudia Schiffer in lingerie was banned by Copenhagen's local government in Copenhagen, Denmark, January 12, 2001. The sexy poster was too explicit in more ways than one, therefore, it has been forbidden any further to be placed in state-owned public areas of Copenhagen.
Sexy posters of Claudia Schiffer in her bra and panties are driving residents of Berlin, Germany, to commit crimes of passion, er, theft. Half of the 600 display cases in the city showing the picture of the scantily clad model have been broken into, according to Deutsche Stedte-Medien, the agency that posted the advertisements. The posters are part of a lingerie advertising campaign by Swedish retailer Hennes & Mauritz. To discourage people from stealing the ads, H&M gives them away at the end of each campaign. Accordingly, this morning, a line formed outside the firm''s Frankfurt office, Reuters reports. The agency said it had posted roughly 6,100 Schiffer ads in display cases across Germany.
