Like I said before, I live in Brazil and Gisele is known everywhere by everyone. Alessandra is like... 70%. Adriana... maybe 50%. The media knows Candice, obviously, all those tops are known. But I'm talking about.... public knowledge. Anyways. Nice to know how it is from another country

Exactly. Didn't you say that some crucial professionals in this business still don't even know her? (A reason why she will never be that big like Adriana, Ale etc.) Maybe I got you wrong. Noooooo I don't believe so. If I did I meant mainstream, I am not one not judge HF because I don't follow it, I don't like, and Idgaf about it. And its rare I like the models that do it. And I know candice has to be known some way in the HF world after she lost all that weight and did all that work for it.

Give her a little time. Although she has been modeling for years, her "real" career just began 2 years ago. And since then she has improved really quick and now she does a lot of high fashion work. However, it's way too early to claim that she will never reach the level of a "historic" model. You guys are in a tearing hurry (If one can say that in this context...) But...I wanted to know the names of professionals who are important in the high fashion world. I don't mind "regular day people", because such statements are completely useless since we just know a few people and not the whole world. It's beyond our ken. Additionally, being big in high fashion doesn't necessarily mean that you're famous among "regular day people". It's like with artists. They are huge in the art scene and maybe even one of the greatest people of the century, but they're not known among normal people. Are you asking who don't know her in the HF world?

Who don't know her? Basically the media, Like cherrybomb said, people who follow VS and some who follow fashion know her, but as far as reglar day people who come across models like adriana, ale, miranda, Giselle, through social networks and media things, they don't know her. You'd have to know about VS and be a fan of it to know who candice is and why she should be just as important. But she is young so there is time to work on it but it better be quicker before some serious competition come her way or before the originals leave because I personally think once adri and ale is done, VS is going to fall short of what they use to be

Do you know VS's annual balance sheets? Maybe they earned more money since Candice is overexposed? They wouldn't use her that much by arbitrariness. There must be some benefit and I think it's an economic one. I don't think that they are using her for economic reasons, I think if they were thinking about it economically they would have used adriana or ale. Adriana is always the one that is trending during the vsfs, Chanel Iman trended in 2010 because she was becoming an angel, Candice opened. It wasn't a suprise that she opened. She is the first model to break adriana's opening cycle and got two wings. Candice didn't trend. On the day the VSFS was happening and the night it aired, you should be able to Google any angel and stuff about the vsfs should come up. For adriana, ale, miranda, doutzen, things came up.I actually searched for candice nothing about 2011's fashion show came up. I don't even think it was noted that candice opened in the articals/pics about the show and got to wear two wings, like it was for adriana. At the VS swim launch last year that miranda had came back in and candice had that white dress on, on the carpet with the photgraphers when they yell the model's name they called everyone names but called candice "the lady in white". *ouch* So thats why I asked MissNKlovesphotograph she means that candice is big in HF, because as far as the media and stuff goes *the things ale, adri, gisele, miranda* are popular in, candice isn't really that popular. If you are a VS fan like we all are then yeah of course your gonna know who candice is, but outside of that circle not really. One thing when adriana, ale, gisele was her age the media knew who they were by then. Some of them still don't. The only reason I can see why they are using her so much is so that she gets more popular but all of the other angels def. needs that exposure too. But I still can't see any of them getting as popular or as notable as the old angels were

You don't know anything about target audience, do you? Just because there are old women who buy VS stuff doesn't mean that VS targets them. For example, look at their website. It's pink and white. Those are typical colors for a young audience. (Color psychology) Or if you look at their Corporate Communication, you will recognize that they use social networks a lot. They try to get new customers by using Twitter, YouTube and so on. That's another indication for a young audience. Or the image VS is trying to represent. Flirty, funny, active... The models are talking about their first kisses or first dates. All these things are not prepared for an audience around 40. They want to attract young women. And well, there are studies (e.g. HOBA experiment) that prove that our purchasing is influenced by the media, advertising, etc. It's a fact. :| I get what your saying a target audience is, and I know what target audience is but didn't I say "I don't think it really matter that much" yeah thats what I said. I don't think target audience matter that much and I still don't find it a good reason to keep using candice all the time.

Versatile in what way? EXACTLY lol, Adriana is the versatile of the versatile IN VS, even more so than candice, but she said it was her opinion so I too ask what does she mean by versatile.

Well, I've been studying this stuff for years now (I'm talking about communication design and this stuff) and my teachers have always been very satisfied with my analyses, so I could try to find out VS's target group if you want to. I think their target group are young women around their twenties. Men are a just a "accompaniment", however, not intended. If you look a VS's Corporate Identity, it's clear that the target are not men. Do you want a more detailed analyses? With explanations or so? That sounds like pink. No thanks because target group I don't think matters that much. Pink is basically for teens and girls in their twenties and stuff. But you also see older females(mid late 30's) using it also. The same goes for their products. I got my first VS bra not from pink but from VS it was 56 dollars, I got it when I was 14 every year since that age, i've been receiving those same kind of bras, none from pink. I've had some friends that was like that also. Like I said before people are gonna buy what they want to, when they want to, and I don't think a model has an influence on that. Its like what people say, when they see the models in the lingerie, no one is looking/paying attention the actual product. I mean look at that VS swim video she was just in that CherryBomb posted, not one comment on that video had to deal with the product. Just about her being overexposed, not overexposed, or beautiful. No one cares about the actually product the model is wearing. I think the only thing that would matter is age. As in if someone is too old. But none of the angels are too old and all the new angels are around the same age. I mean its lingerie and clothing and accessories and beauty you can target all ages from 17 and up

OK, I've been trying to figure out this for the longest what is up with this "real"/natural stuff with models like miranda and candice being put into the comparison with adriana? Anytime someone compares adriana with those two they say natural and real, what does that mean? And also what you mean by versatile, in what actually? As far as the other stuff....thats brazil. We are talking about VS and basically america, honest, because someone told me that adriana look likes every other girl brazil so I decided to google brazilain girl and adriana was the first person model/celeb from brazil to pop up.... So yeah here is alot of where adriana's popularity come from, can't argue with that but can't find a problem with it either, though at times I can't stand this country myself, but thats something else

The target audience is one of the if not the most important thing for a company. Everything - the whole Corporate Identity, the product design, etc. - is determined by it. I ensure you VS makes no move without considering the target group. And actually, if you know how, it's not difficult to find out their target group. You just have to know a bit about media psychology and communication design. Well do you know the target group?

I wouldn't claim that all people are tired of seeing Candice that much. Why do you think so? Just because there are people who complain about it doesn't mean everybody is sick of seeing her. Victoria's Secret is a big company and like every big company, it employs a team of specialists which does market researches. So there must be something that gets VS any economic benefit by overexposing Candice. They wouldn't do that if the people were so annoyed by her, because actually the models do influence the purchasing behavior. Additionally, Ale and Adriana are getting old. Of course they are not actually old - but the model business applies other standards. You have to consider the target audience of VS. Exactly ale and adriana are getting older, which means what? vs should stop using them and start using an angel thats about 7 years younger than them or should they take advantage of the oldest ones since the younger ones can actually wait awhile? Atleast when adriana had her time, all the angels were more closer in age and as I said before everybody still got their equal attention. And even with them getting older they are the ones everyone wants to see the most. Target audience, sometimes its a question whether or not they are even targeting their female buyers or men. No one really knows who their targets are but we all know that it should be women. But I don't think that would matter because everyone enjoys every angel. There isn't a specific type of fan per angel. They have fans of ever gender,race, age,sexual orientation. So idk why it would matter when there is so much variety. Crista, my point was that exactly that the followers on twitter and fb statics isn't an excuse. I mean its proof of which angel is maybe more popular. But even if candice did have an fb her fans wouldn't tops adriana. Ale's fans doesn't even top adriana's and ale has more followers on twitter than adriana. Candice followers didn't even top adriana's when adriana made her twitter page but never tweeted (adri just started tweeting during the vsfs 2011). I don't think that candice will reach giselle's or adriana's popularity, I have my reasons, don't kill me. You guys are good candice fans so you can perfer the over exposure of candice. I just think that not only ale and adriana at times are wrongfully underexposed(because they are not getting any younger it would be smart to use them more) but I could see why you'd think not since they have had years in vs to be shown, but the other new angels are wrongfully underexposed . Non of the new angels are better than each other(besides candice twitter followers,BUT like we agreed on that's no excuse). So focusing so much more on one that is only just as good as the others angel wise annoys me.MissNKlovesphotograph, To me there is no way candice is better than anyone (esp. not an older angel like alessandra or adriana), she can be just as beautiful as some of the angels or just as good as some of the angels but saying she is better would honestly be pushing it imo and I think someone would have to be biased (a big fan) to say that there is alot to consider to make that judgement. Ok, let me put it this way then, overall candice isn't getting the right reaction that I think VS intended it too. (Excuse me if I sound like a VS nerd, i've just been a fan of vs for a long time). What happened with adriana in 2003, is ofcourse happening with candice now, and started to happen for alessandra in 2006. Adriana's opening was significant, she was already a bit popular before it, she blew up right afterwards, I say right afterwards because immediately after 2003 she became who she is today and at the end vsfs people applauded her. Now ale didn't open til 2010, but I think at a point in time VS was exposing her more too and she got applauded in 2006 and she blew up. Candice opened and vs is exposing her in a way they never have before, as you mentioned to the technology, but its not doing anything. Candice is suppose to be out there by now and instead it just looks like VS is doing all this for nothing and people are tired of it because imo the way candice carries herself. So like I said candice's status isn't up there for VS to be exposing her like they are. They need to be slowing things down more because its not falling into order. And ofcourse its no secret that candice may be the best of the new angels, but that's no excuse. Ale actually has the most twitter followers out of all the angels, and then adriana is one of the most liked models on fb, if not the most liked because she has over a millions likes. But when VS had the chance to use them, they didn't. Like with the vs swim, it was brazil themed but look at how that turned or is turning out, candice is everywhere. They could have used adriana and ale way more esp since they have all the popularity and are brazilian. But they continuing with candice, things like that makes me say she is being exposed to the point where its not that logical. Usually no matter who is head angel or who is the face, VS always found a way to make things more equal with their angels still, not anymore

Sorry if i'm late about the topic candice exposure topic, I think it personally depends on the model when it comes to people complaining. People never complain about adriana being shown, but then again adriana was never shown this much either. TBH in my opinion, my opinion, candice status isn't that good as an angel as the past ones when they were her age. Like someone mentioned "they did the same with adriana when she was younger" thats true, and no one ever complained. Thats why I feel it depends on the model. Imo candice is beautiful, and the most beautiful new angel but she doesn't have "IT" yet like VS may think she does. Obviously VS sees potential, I see it once the older angels leave, but right now I honestly don't get why they have to force her in this way,this much. I mean adriana wasn't even this forced in 2003. Yes adriana opened, got her two wings as candice. But VS never gave adriana her own little videos all the time, when it came to her being in commercials adriana wasn't in more than half of them neither was she included in every campaign line VS had created. I don't even think VS is doing this just to get candice to "sell their clothes because she sell the clothes best"(imo none of the models doesn't influence a thing a costumer buys) because she is only doing videos and are in the magazines. she hasn't promoted a product in a while, she hasn't been doing any interviews for them, and you don't find her pictures in the actual stores that much. IDK why VS is exposing her the way they are but its getting under alot of people's skin. And the thing is people aren't even upset at candice its more of VS that people have the problems with. Their decisions have been OFF lately imo.

I don't see the stomach weight gain really. As far as her face goes, I personally think that shouldn't be used as evidence because adriana's face will always look bigger at certain times. That never fails, she is never one to have a small face unless she really works hard to work out to loose weight, then her face would appear to be skinnier. But as tori pointed out those pics where she was doing those events she wasn't pregnant yet (Her face also looked like that towards the end of 2008). You just have to look beyond the face

She apparently wasn't pregnant yet in pictures 3-4-5 of your post. That event was before she even eloped. Her kid's birth wasn't announced until November. She also later said that the kid was born early. I'm not saying she isn't pregnant right now, but if the information she revealed regarding her first kid's birth is accurate, then she wasn't pregnant in some of the pictures you posted. It was just a good old fashioned weight gain and she happened to fall pregnant shortly after that. Ok, your right that was just weight gain, which was ironically, just like now, about 3 months after the 2008 vsfs(most of those pics were taken in feb.), where she had also got fit and lost alot of weight. Just like this years vsfs. Couldn't it just be weight gain now? Imo her face looked bigger in those pics than it does now. Its just the VS work that adds suspension, but not too much for me because VS has been doing some activity without adriana that I don't even understand. Like that VS swim bullshit
