Pato Hopeful Of Ronaldo Return Milan’s Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato would love to play alongside Ronaldo next term, despite Il Fenomeno’s injury woes. Ronaldo, 31, is currently recovering from the knee injury which he suffered against Livorno earlier this season. Il Fenomeno’s career hangs in the balance as the injury to his right knee could still be career-threatening. And although his recovery is going well so far, his recent altercation with three transvestite prostitutes in his native Brazil has done his legendary status no good whatsoever. However, possible legend in the making, compatriot and team-mate Pato is hoping to play alongside his childhood hero once more. “I would like it a lot if we could play together,” Pato, 17, told GQ magazine. “We are really good friends. “Ronnie is going through a rough patch at the moment. The media are always hounding him. “Nevertheless, he has such a great character that I expect he will get over his injury and image problems. “We talk all the time, but never about football. He always asks me how I am doing. It's crazy, Ronaldo is my idol.” The teenage sensation also shared his opinion on the Italian game and it seems as if he had to learn fast the hard way. “I remember Cristian Ledesma repeatedly hitting me - massacring me. I was not bothered. Actually, I like playing this way. It has made me grow up,” said Pato “In Brazil, you get the ball and are allowed 20 seconds to look up and think about what you are going to do. “Here, instead, you have three seconds to do something before someone like Ledesma arrives.” Pato scored nine goals in 18 games for Milan this season and in that explosive form he is sure to be one of the best in future if he continues working hard at San Siro.

Ledesma Is A Thug – Pato Milan wonderkid Alexandre Pato has launched a stunning attack on Lazio midfielder Cristian Ledesma, saying that he “massacred” him during a game earlier in the season. Pato has had a superb start to life in Serie A, scoring nine goals in just 18 Serie A appearances since debuting in January. In an interview with GQ Magazine, Pato has talked about his first season in Italy, and he has launched a scathing attack on Lazio’s Cristian Ledesma, who issued out some rough treatment to him during a game in March. “I remember Cristian Ledesma repeatedly hitting me - massacring me,” stated the Brazilian. "I was not bothered. Actually, I like playing this way. It has made me grow up. “In Brazil, you get the ball and are allowed 20 seconds to look up and think about what you are going to do. “Here, instead, you have three seconds to do something before someone like Ledesma arrives.” Pato also expressed his wish that crocked team-mate Ronaldo recovers from injury so that he can play alongside him up-front. “I would like it a lot if we could play together,” he said. “We are really good friends. “Ronnie is going through a rough patch at the moment. The media are always hounding him. “Nevertheless, he has such a great character that I expect he will get over his injury and image problems. “We talk all the time, but never about football. He always asks me how I am doing. It's crazy, Ronaldo is my idol.”

Ancelotti: Inzaghi Should Have Gone, Not Cassano Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has praised Italy boss Roberto Donadoni but he says that he made the wrong decision in calling up Antonio Cassano for Euro 2008 ahead of Pippo Inzaghi. The one major surprise when Donadoni named his squad for Euro 2008 was the inclusion of the wonderfully talented, yet volatile, Antonio Cassano. Many also believe that Pippo Inzaghi merited a spot in the final 23, following ablistering end to the season when he scored 10 goals in his last seven Serie A matches. "There is only one choice made by the coach that I do not agree with,” Donadoni explained in the Corriere dello Sport. “That is the place of Cassano instead of Inzaghi. "Pippo’s experience would have been useful for the team, especially when used in the last 20-30 minutes of matches. However, the responsibility for these decisions lies with the coach, who has done an excellent job." Ancelotti then went on to name his favourites for the championships in Austria and Switzerland, and he believes the Azzurri are in with a great chance of winning their first Euros since 1968. "Italy, Germany, France and Spain, the winner of the Euros will emerge from this quartet," Carletto stated. "The national team of Donadoni has the opportunity to win a trophy that has escaped us for 40 years, and they have a chance thanks to a solid defence, a technical and robust midfield, and a powerful attack.”

Gilardino: Here To Prove Myself Alberto Gilardino is delighted with his marriage to Fiorentina and he is hoping to achieve some great things with La Viola. The 25-year-old hit-man was unveiled today at the Artemio Franchi following his €15m move from Milan. The striker is hoping for a renaissance in Florence and he cannot wait to start his new adventure in Tuscany. "I am really happy, it was a perfect marriage which went well right from the start," said Gilardino. "I knew staright away that things would go very well between myself and the club. "Fiorentina are doing great things and they are in the Champions League and I am hoping to give my best for the side. "I would have come even if they were not in the Champions League because I have the intention of getting back to my best." The striker also spoke about Cesare Prandelli who launched the player to stardom when he was at Parma. He also reveals that he has no regrets on leaving San Siro. "I have an excellent relationship with Cesare Prandelli and I have known him for years. We have an excellent understanding. He made me a great player at Parma and I am sure it will be important here too," said the hit-man. "I have left Milan on good terms and I don't have any regrets as I won many things with them. "Now I am thinking about doing well and achieving great things here. I need to work hard on the training ground so that I can show my true worth." Gilardino was poor for the Rossoneri last season, he scored just four goals in 19 appearances for his side and he was on the bench for large parts of the campaign. He will have to work hard in order to try and secure himself a first team place in Prandelli's talented squad.
