Chelsea Preparing Mega Bid For Robinho Chelsea are set to test Real Madrid's resolve by offering €35 million for Robinho this summer despite the Spanish club claiming he is not for sale, according to reports in Spain. The Blues want to prise the Brazilian away from the Bernabéu by making a bid that they believe los Merengues will find too tempting to turn down and the opening gambit will be big, according to Onda Cero and Radio Marca. Madrid's president, Ramón Calderón, has said that he is not willing to let Robinho go and is even said to be preparing a new contract for the 24-year-old. "He is not transferable," he said during Monday's title celebrations. "We are not going to sell Robinho." Despite denying that he wants to leave Madrid, the whistles that he received from some sections of the crowd during the final home match of the season may play on Robinho's mind however. According to Marca, Arsenal and Manchester United could well join the race should Chelsea be seen to be given any encouragement by the Madrid hierarchy. Bernd Schuster is not keen to lose the player, even though rumours suggest that he is beginning to lean towards Arjen Robben to play down the left next season. Along with Mahamadou Diarrà, another star who was tipped to be transferred this summer, the German coach is only interested in making minor changes to his championship-winning squad. "They are two important players for us. Why would we want them to leave?," he asked reporters. The idea of having to off-load one or two big names may have become reality had Madrid had any joy in their quest to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, as all finances would have been required, but that avenue is now closed.- Raúl González Blanco
Raúl Threatens Player Union Dispute Real Madrid captain Raúl has warned that the players' union will delay the start of the new season if they can't reach an agreement with the League authorities... The veteran forward is a vice-president of the Asociación de Futbolistas Españoles (Association of Spanish Footballers, or AFE), which is currently in dispute with the Liga de Fútbol Profesional (Professional Football League, LFP). The disagreement has stemmed from the League's unwillingness to put forward a form of insurance money to make sure that clubs like Levante are able to pay their players in time of crisis. With no figure being agreed upon, Raúl and the rest of the AFE unanimously voted to withdraw their agreement ahead of the new season. If the AFE does not reach an accord with the LFP then the League cannot begin - a prospect that Raúl admitted is not unrealistic. "If there is no agreement, and debts are not settled, then the Liga will not start," he said. The Spanish football community now awaits the Liga's next move.- Raúl González Blanco

Ramos After Champions League Sergio Ramos reveals that he would like to win the Champions League with Los Blancos next season. The stopper, who has been at the club since 2005, insists that he has even more desire to win Europe’s elite club competition and he is eyeing Champions League glory next season. Ramos has been excellent during the 2007/08 campaign, but insists he wants to go beyond La Liga and win club football’s greatest prize. “I have a great desire and that is to conquer the Champions League,” Ramos told Marca. “A player always has the desire and motivation to try and win titles which he has not won in the past. “That’s the great thing about football, you always get the chance to compete for honours and next season we return to the Champions League and we will try to win it.” The Spanish international also had a few words for Real’s latest signing Eziquiel Garay who arrives from Racing Santander. “He (Garay) is a great defender and anyone who comes here to do well will be welcomed in the best way,” concluded Ramos.- Sergio Ramos

Player Ratings: Milan 4-1 Udinese AC Milan needed to win to stand a chance of earning their Champions League spot. They looked dead and buried after going a goal down in an uninspired first half. They did manage to reply with four in the second but it mattered little as Fiorentina won 0-1 at Torino to condemn the Rossoneri to the UEFA Cup for next season. Goal.com rates the performers on the pitch. Kalac - 6.5: Made a few important saves in the first half to keep his side in the contest. Other than that, it was a fairly quiet evening for the Spider. Oddo - 5.5: Was playing almost as an attacking winger in the first half to help carve open the Udinese defence. Allowed Di Natale the freedom to charge forward. Bonera - 7: Had a shaky start but came into the game strongly and made a number of crucial tackles and interceptions. Kaladze - 6: Didn’t quite have the pace to cope with Udinese’s counter attacking style. Looked more composed in the later stages of the game when the opponents went off the boil. Favalli - 6: Never looked secure at the back. His over commitment to attack left far too much space for Simone Pepe to roam. He did, however, constantly provide his attacking wingers with the overlapping option. Brocchi - 5: Ineffective. Could not provide the creative spark down the flank that Milan were so desperately seeking in the first half. Not surprised to be taken out at the break for Pato. Pirlo - 7.5: Showed tremendous vision time and time again with some stunning long balls to split the visiting backline. Ambrosini - 7: Strayed too far forward too often and that allowed Udinese to break forward with ease. Did link up well with Kaka and Seedorf in the final third of the pitch. Kakà - 7: Very involved in the game and initiated almost every attacking move. Had about four excellent scoring chances but spurned all of them, including a penalty. Seedorf - 8: His lively performance defies his age. He was carving out openings in both flanks and down the middle and just like Kaka, he was engaged in every attacking build up. Inzaghi - 6.5: Had too many defenders mark him out of the game. Had more space and freedom when Pato came on. Should have scored more than just the one goal. Substitutes: Cafu - 7: Did well to clean up at the back. Wasn’t afraid to go forward, despite his aging legs. Scored a quite sumptuous goal to wrap up his playing career in style. Pato - 8: What his teammates couldn’t do in 45 minutes, he managed to in just two. Caused all kinds of headaches for the Udinese defence and injected that extra attacking oomph that his team was missing in the first half. Serginho - 6: Had a few attempts at goal from distance and will be disappointed he couldn’t sign off his career with a goal.- Kaká
