Priyanka Chopra: I feel like I've achieved Nirvana Move over men. A woman seems to be taking your place. Having endorsed a men's wear brand recently, this Joan d'Arc will also play Abhishek Bachchan's bodyguard in Drona . Suddenly we see Priyanka Chopra, a once-upon-a-time petite damsel imbibe the male spirit. "That's a woman's spirit, and not many are aware about what it can do," she laughs as she tells us more about her feminine side. "I love wearing dresses, I have a fetish for shoes; I take time to get dressed..." Having torn a muscle while performing a deadly stunt for Drona , Priyanka has recovered well and lives on happily to boast of her histrionics. "Action sequences are fun. Every time I perform stunts, I feel like I've achieved nirvana. It's overwhelming. And even after the shot, I continue to believe that I am this superwoman, till I realise soon enough that it's just the magic of cinema." Never mind the 'chops' she gives the hoodlums on celluloid, just what does she think of her new name 'Piggy Chops' courtesy co-actor Abhishek Bachchan. "Oh, the world seems to have caught on to that one. But I don't mind it one bit because it's kind of cute," she quips. Any 'cute names' she calls AB's Baby? "None, whatsoever! I'm a very boring person, and don't go about christening people."

Shilpa Shetty's Bollywood musical savaged by critics Celebrity Big Brother star Shilpa Shetty suffered a new humiliation as her new venture, musical Miss Bollywood was panned by critics. The Bollywood actress became a household name after she stood up to Big Brother bullies Jade Goody and Danielle Lloyd and ex-S Clubber Jo O'Meara. But critics have savaged her new show, with one branding it an "ill-conceived, half-baked star vehicle". Shilpa stars in the show which is set in London in the run-up to the 2012 Olympics. Mayor Benjamin (Josh Moran) has decided that his opening gala should be a celebration of cultural diversity at the same time as he decrees the demolition of some of the buildings standing in the way of the building of an Olympic Village. And Shetty plays Maya, a naïve and modest dancer who has come from India to invest all of her savings into a Bollywood Dance Academy in one of the buildings. The show, scripted by the Bollywood screenwriter Niranjan Iyengar, exploits Shetty's Celebrity Big Brother ordeal, which at the time caused a national outcry. And it includes jokes about her notorious kissing encounter with Richard Gere, which saw the star disgraced in her homeland and almost prosecuted for indecency. The Times' arts critic Sam Marlowe dismissed the show as "lacklustre". Marlowe said: "It's a shame that, having endured Celebrity Big Brother with such dignity, she has gone on to capitalise on the experience with a substandard project that reeks of cynicism." He added: "The dancers are mechanical, the script diabolical, the acting amateurish and the costumes look nastily cheap. "It all lacks brio and excitement; and though she is elegant to the last, Shetty alone isn't enough to make it worthwhile." Critic Kevin Bourke of the Manchester Evening News was a little kinder. He said: "...the last twenty minutes or so of this Bollywood-on-stage fantasy are fantastic fun...". But he added: "With its Big Brother, Richard Gere and 'goody, goody' gags, the show can feel like a panto". It is the latest in a string of disappointments for Shetty who has failed to capitalise on her fame since leaving the Big Brother house.
  3. These are the concepts expressed by Carlo Ancelotti in the press conference on the eve of Atalanta-Milan: “Ronaldo has not played in the past three months. Physically he’s fine, he’s working and it’s important that he’s ok. We find back a player who also last year gave an important contribution, in certain games with his quality he can give us a big help. He’s still not in the optimal condition to play from the start, but in any case in general I have not yet decided. He can play both as an advanced finisher, but also in a position behind that. Ronaldo does not have the continuity of the ninety minutes, but he can play without continuity. During his career he always turned off and on in an instant during the games. Ronaldo worked three months on his own, therefore the players cannot know if he was lazy or not. He came back three days ago in the group, and since he has not worked for a long time with us, he did not start the trainings with great intensity, but all the preparatory work and physiotherapy he undertook was the expected one and prescribed till the end. Once he came late, but it happens to everyone, even to me. In these cases the rules are the same for everyone, whoever comes late pays a fine that at the end of the season is handed to the Foundation.”

Nervous Kaka's going for gold Milan star Kaka claims he has received no news about the Ballon d’Or, but has his fingers crossed that he can secure the prestigious prize. The European Footballer of the Year award will be presented on December 2 and Brazilian ace Kaka is hot favourite to clinch the honour. There have been whispers that the decision has already been made, but Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani quashed such talk yesterday and Kaka also insists he is in the dark. “I know nothing at the moment so I’ll just keep doing my job,” the Brasilia native said. “But it’s surely a really good sign that there are these rumours.” Kaka did his cause no harm with a goal against Shakhtar Donetsk in Tuesday’s Champions League tie and he hopes that the judging panel were watching. “It was a good goal and an important one. Every game is big now and I’m just trying to give my best and hope that things work out off the pitch for me. I’d love to receive a huge honour like the Ballon d’Or.” It hasn’t been such a successful period for compatriot Ronaldo, who has been sidelined since July with a thigh injury, but Kaka is looking forward to El Fenomeno’s return. “Ronnie was the first to celebrate our goals on Tuesday,” he explained. “He is so keen to get back and it’s nice to see how happy he is to be in the group. “We’re just hoping that he can get on the pitch as soon as possible to score one of his great goals.” Ronaldo may play in front of Kaka this weekend as the European champions travel to Bergamo to take on Atalanta.
